We were in Battle Harbour this summer and a young man from Quebec City was entertaining us with songs by a variety of singers and groups. He said there was a song by Shanneyganock that he really liked to sing and he launched into this one. It was very different hearing it sung in a very French accent. He did a fine job of it too.

Had the opportunity to go to the George street festival in 2011 its awesome pack yourself an extra liver after. Lots of love for newfoundland all the way from Toronto( hogtown)....the drive and ferry can take a cpl days but damn worth it

It's 2022. You all know what that means. When the documentary came out called "Come From Away" I watched it and loved every single minute, every word, What an amazing job they did making it. But, while the credits rolled and I heard Shanneyganock sing The Islander (which I , being from across the country in B.C. had never heard before, started weeping so hard from the experience I had just somehow become a part of and from those voices. You guys are beautiful! When Chris' deep growly voice pipes up at the beginning of each chorus my soul rises with it. Honestly, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for using your gifts and being obedient to God. I can't wait to get my arse out there to the Rock!
