She is from my village and I have seen her working so freaking hard. People would think she’s crazy and say she’s a male and make fun of her. But with her stupendous performance she has shut all the freaking mouths. Proud of her! She deserves a gold medal. Wish for her to get it for herself and for the whole nation as well. Best of luck KAMAL👍

She does seem confident. Hope she wins a medal tomorrow. Someone in the comments below mentioned that her chances of winning would depend on her mindset on the day of the final. I think we Indians to convince ourselves that we too can perform on the big stage, when it matters the most. There seems to be unecessary scrutiny whenever Indians fail to do well in finals. The focus instead needs to be on providing the best facilities to our athletes and preparing them for all scenarios in the final during the 3 years after this Olympics. Thorough preparation is what would make them feel confident in the finals. It is unfortunate that Abhinav Bindra had to avail the assistance of several foreign coaches and sports psychologists at his own expenditure during his career. He has also mentioned how difficult it was to obtain funding from the federation even if you were an Olympic gold medallist. Obviously not all athletes can afford to pay themselves. The respective sports federations and the central government need to put a concerted effort to provide the best facilities and the necessary funding to all the Olympic athletes. Only then can these athletes play to their true potential and consistently bring laurels to our nation.

On top that our government is spending peanuts on them. India as a society is no difference from Pakistan ( in terms of mentality). No one give importance to sport, only getting a SARKARI NAUKRI is considered as huge achievement in India. People have no idea about alternative careers apart from Sarkari naukri.
Whatever Indian athletes are doing or achieving are just because of their hard work and will power. Just try to listen their struggle stories, you'll definitely have tears in your eyes.
