I've been flying and building quads for almost 5 years and im charging up my mobula 6 right now for rhe first time and im stoked i dont have to set anything up in betaflight accept my rates glad i found your video its a good one verry informative and on point i subbed
Hey Georgi, I hope you are doing well. I see you haven't made any videos in a very long time and I hope all is well with you and your family. Do you still fly FPV at all? I just recently started to get back into it and blew the dust of my Modula6 and was going through the settings and decided to watch this video again.
I followed your instructions and my Mobula 6 HD had problems. When I armed it one motor would not spin but jerked and stuttered. Another one did the same off and on. Could not get into the air. I reflashed, did a different version lower on the list. Finally after flashing and reflashing, changing the sequence of connection to the configurator, plugging the battery in first , not plugging the battery in at first, etc, etc. I FINALLY hit on some sequence that made it work. It was scarey because I thought I'd tanked my Mobula. I did my two Tiny Hawks. The "S" model loaded without a hitch but my original Tiny Hawk had the same problems as the Mobula but I got it finally done too. I actually had to go into BHeli and reverse a motor that had now was spinning the wrong way! Took me a looong time to get these done and I don't know if I'll do my more expensive 2 and 3s whoops. I wish it was simple as it was for the one Tiny Hawk then I could trust it more. BTW, I did finally get the proper version onto them not the 2.2ver that was lower down on the menu.
Not sure if anyone has already tried the 350mAh as @FPVtips suggested (I'm too lazy to read all the comments), but here is my experience with GnB 350's: 1. I should note that thanks to this video I have JESC installed 2. I have the 19000kv motors 3. If you plan to buy 350mAh batteries, make sure they are with cables instead of the PH2.0 connectors coming directly out of the body of the battery (I was naive enough to think "ahhh, f*ck the cables - we're saving weight here"). The reason is that the power cable coming out of the mobula6 is too short and I couldn't center the battery properly. 4. Although the weight difference between 300mAh and 350mAh seems small (a couple of grams), the throttle level for hovering is considerably higher. (this might be because the center of gravity is not at the center of the axles and two of the motors have to compensate). BUT 4. I am consistently reaching flight times of 4:30 (indoors, no crazy freestyle) even when doing a few turtle mode flips and following the 80% rule (I land on 3.72 - 3.75v) All in all, I would go with the 350mAh batteries with cables and JESC firmware for considerably longer flight times and with the 300mAh for racier feel with more precise control over the drone. Also many, many thanks to FPVtips for the great content. I mean, the quality is one of the best out there. Please, keep up the good work!

Very helpful review, with some great information. I've just ordered a mobula6 and was also wondering if 450mah batteries would be worth purchasing along with it. After watching this, I'll stick to 300mah. Thanks very much.
I have the 6 HD on the way. While not a deal breaker, I wish it had come with a padded box of some kind. My fatsharks are in a case, as is my controller. Would make it easier when tossing everything in the backpack to go fly.
I installed Bluejay with 48hz on my mobula 6. It reduced the current during the flight and increased the flight time a little, however sometimes it fails safe where it doesn't happen with original firmware ESC. Sometimes one of the engines does not turn on and the drone does not take off. I have already configured the motor start parameters, even so, sometimes one of the motors does not start turning. I think 48hz and 96hz for tinys is good but have some problems.
regardless of the battery's capacity I stop flying at 3.5v, unless i really don't care about the battery's life and it's a micro like in this case, where i can push it even further. I don't recommend this, but I'm not the only one doing it either, so there is that :D
Thanks for the great video! Do you mind sharing your tune/pids? I'm a new pilot and trying to figure it out. While it flies great stock I'm struggling to get a tune on the 1900kv I think is better.
I haven't touched the PIDs at all, running completely stock. IMO for 95% of the use cases the tune is pretty ok, and in this case it fits my flight style so didn't change anything :)
Jonathan King The thing you need to tune being new is rates, not pids. Rates are very personal for each pilot and each need to find their preference. Pid tuning is to combat poor flight characteristics but shouldn’t be required on newer quads as most problems have been tackled over the years.
I recently purchased the HD version and it came with 250Mah batteries. I don't know if this is due to battery availability or not. The battery fits perfectly in the holder on the model. I have not flown a full battery yet so I'm not sure of the flight time on these batteries. I'll post back once I know what kind of flight time its good for.
Hi, can I pleas ask you for help? I just bough a new Mobula6 RDF kit with LiteRadio SE ( same as BetaFPV LiteRadio 2 SE ) . Unfortunately I didn't know yet for the common problem with the wiping all of the setting when the battery run out of any juice and after I bind them and fly for a while this happened. I didn't have any dump file save or whatever else I need it to be backed up. Now I'm struggling to bind them or adjust any settings. Any idea how to deal with this ? Thank you!
It will say that if you are trying to flash the version with RPM filtering (which also requires that you purchase a license). Select the firmware without RPM filtering if you don't want to install Betaflight 4.1
i need help this is my first quad ive been at this for days now lol. my drone just wobbles and the motors turn just off after i start throttle. i turned of runaway mode but i think the board is out of line because when i move the mob6 in beta flight the drone moves the opposite way
@@FPVtips thanks I bought the skyzone 02x and they are amazing! Using foxeer patch and a lollipop on the other side, I get failsafe on the mobula 6 way before getting any static at all on the goggles...
@@samuelevinti It might be, but it also just might work. I've seen they've done a mobula6 hd with an external xfire receiver. Not sure how the weights compare, but would be somewhat similar I think.
Hi mate! I followed your exact steps with JESC on my Mobula6 and now when I try to arm it I can't and always get the error message "RPM filter". Do you know how I can troubleshoot this?

how can i have the controller connected to my mobula whilst its plugged into betaflight. I know lyour not supposed to plug in bettery and micro usb. Can i have some help??
Hi I'm using the X-Lite Pro, how did you get it to work on D8? I found out on the OpenTX companion not to mark the EU-LBT but I still couldn't get it on D8. Could you pls explain your method? Stay safe & take care!
I would assume that the X-Lite Pro comes with the ACCESS protocol. I'm "lucky" in a sense that I have an older X-Lite radio before FrSky started pushing their ACCESS protocol. I think unfortunately the answer to your question is that in your case you probably cannot bind in D8 mode (or if you find a way, I'm very curious to learn how). You should be able to bind just fine in D16 mode without any issues. For the better part, there's not a lot of super big differences between D8 and D16, so hopefully this should not be an issue for you. Stay safe and happy flying :)
You can use the plastic capped type, provided it is still the JST-PH2 connector, not the BetaFPV BT2.0 connector. I prefer the plastic capped type. especially the GNB 300mAh. The pigtail wire from the quad is long enough.
Damn, sad to hear. Try to return it if the retailer accepts returns? I wouldn't go about fixing it, but then again you might have some success if you just replace the flight controller.
If you trust the product page it should. They mention: Compatible with ACCST D8/D16, Recommend D8 mode. Unfortunately I cannot confirm this for you, as I have only tested the D8 mode binding.
You should watch this video: ruclips.net/video/hUpZdIAclOE/видео.html Basically you can connect to D16 if you set to Frsky_X instead of Frsky_D in Betaflight. Or do the other thing suggested in the video: buy an XJT Lite (around 20-25$) and fly in D8
Depending on your flying style that might be fine if you're pushing it 90% of the flight time. Otherwise, look into new, proven batteries, do some of the esc firmware / betaflight / emuflight software improvements.
Unless you want RPM filtering you don't need Betaflight 4.1 and you don't need a license for JESC. If you want also RPM filtering, then you do need to flash Betaflight 4.1 and you need to purchase a license for the JESC firmware.
I'm currently working on a video that shows how to flash Emuflight, but the process is identical. To flash firmware use the Betaflight Configurator (github.com/betaflight/betaflight-configurator/releases), and select "Update firmware". Then you can select from the existing list or load firmware from a file.
So this is my first drone and I don’t really have a clue how to do anything. I have the same remote but it can only go into d16 and access. How do I get it into d8?
Mine used to get around 5 minutes of flight time with 48 kHz, now it gets around 3:30. I tried oiling the motors and relaxing the AIO and I don’t understand the problem
@@bajablastfreeze4957 I've seen only 1 video ever talk about oiling the motors and while there is without a doubt some small benefit from doing that, it will never be to the extend to affect your flight times by like 50% or more. In most cases the effect of oiling the motors would be quite marginal. If you feel like going after it, go for it. But if you really think you have an issue with flight times, I'd look into my batteries, prop combinations, motors, weight. If you have the out of the factory config with Betaflight 3.5.7 and JESC with 48kHz firmware, stock props and the batteries are not dead from being flown too low too much, you should be getting good results. Let me know how it works out if the oiling helps I'm curious!
Yeah I’m using a stock mobula 6, stock firmware, and Jesc 2.3 48khz. The first few flights I was getting 4:45 minutes then it got to around 3:30. Now the flight times are like 2:20. What could be degrading
Definitely don't take my word for it and do some extensive research, buuuut in general it should be possible. Flashing your ESCs with firmware has for the most part nothing to do with Betaflight, unless some compatibility concerns have to be taken into consideration. For BLHeli just use the BLHeli configurator, it's pretty straightforward.
I would expect so, but unfortunately this is not something I have tested personally, so do double check. I'd hate to mislead you so I'll say that I don't know.
lol nice one, hope he was due for a haircut :p, seriously though, could not agree more, I think the mob7hd has been my fav micro for quite some time now and there's no getting it out of that spot in my heart
@@FPVtips there is a little switch on the charger that was confusing. I gave up on it though. I could never get the mob6 to engage. Studied betaflight for weeks. Had some rc people look at it, but no luck. Seems this hobby just wasn't meant for me, but it looks like a lot of fun.
I see some people having issues and others reporting it's ok, so definitely do some more research on this topic. I haven't tried it out myself, mainly because I'm not a fan of what FrSky did with the ACCESS protocol, and I'm keeping an old Taranis X-LIte (pre ACCESS) with D8 available just for my micros. I am moving towards a multiprotocol radio, like the RadioMaster TX16S. Sorry I can't help more with this particular issue, perhaps you at least understand my reasoning. Long story short, I think FrSky shot themselves in the foot with ACCESS.
When I flash it with jesc for some reason it just flips out, and when I reflash blheli I have to reconfigure in Betaflight to make it fly normal cuz it’ll just flip out still, how can I fix this, I really need more flightitme...
What version of Betaflight are you running? If you're on 3.5.7 and you're trying to take into use RPM filters ESC firmware, you will need to be on Betaflight 4.1 at least.
If you are using FrSky protocol, you might have to use D16 if your radio is using the newer ACCESS protocol. Otherwise, following the guide in the video should get you setup.
Oh snap. I’ve been trying to get mine in the air for a while now with no results! I’m going to switch the radio to d16. I have a betafpv LiteRadio 2. Maybe that will work! Thank you for the awesome review and set up guide 🙏🏾

Wich JESC Configurator Version do i need with the betaflight 10.7.0 version?
You might have to check their own official documentation for that, but I would assume their latest would be compatible.
very helpfull thank you!!
You're welcome!
Can you use the plastic capped style batteries, or do you have to use batteries with the pigtail?
You can use the plastic capped type, provided it is still the JST-PH2 connector, not the BetaFPV BT2.0 connector.
I prefer the plastic capped type. especially the GNB 300mAh. The pigtail wire from the quad is long enough.
Haven't tested if those would fit
My mobula 6 is less than 1 week old, but sadly it smoked, what should I do?
Damn, sad to hear. Try to return it if the retailer accepts returns? I wouldn't go about fixing it, but then again you might have some success if you just replace the flight controller.
Does this bind to accst d16? On an x9 lite?
If you trust the product page it should. They mention: Compatible with ACCST D8/D16, Recommend D8 mode. Unfortunately I cannot confirm this for you, as I have only tested the D8 mode binding.
did you ever get your x9 lite to bind im having issues myself.
You should watch this video:
ruclips.net/video/hUpZdIAclOE/видео.html
Basically you can connect to D16 if you set to Frsky_X instead of Frsky_D in Betaflight. Or do the other thing suggested in the video: buy an XJT Lite (around 20-25$) and fly in D8
Jo please help i get 2 minutes tops with the stock battery in or outside what should i do?
Depending on your flying style that might be fine if you're pushing it 90% of the flight time. Otherwise, look into new, proven batteries, do some of the esc firmware / betaflight / emuflight software improvements.
hi, can you tell me if I have to flash betaflight in 4.1 to be able to use the ESC firmware jesc 48khz . Thanks to you
Unless you want RPM filtering you don't need Betaflight 4.1 and you don't need a license for JESC. If you want also RPM filtering, then you do need to flash Betaflight 4.1 and you need to purchase a license for the JESC firmware.
@@FPVtips 1000 thanks for the review and for this clear and precise answer.
Hi, How do you flash the firmware 3.5.7 from the happymodel website ?
I'm currently working on a video that shows how to flash Emuflight, but the process is identical. To flash firmware use the Betaflight Configurator (github.com/betaflight/betaflight-configurator/releases), and select "Update firmware". Then you can select from the existing list or load firmware from a file.
So this is my first drone and I don’t really have a clue how to do anything. I have the same remote but it can only go into d16 and access. How do I get it into d8?
Depends on the controller's firmware, try googling for a specific guide for your controller.
Mine used to get around 5 minutes of flight time with 48 kHz, now it gets around 3:30. I tried oiling the motors and relaxing the AIO and I don’t understand the problem
What changes so you started getting the shorter flight times? What Betaflight firmware version?
I didn’t change anything, I think maybe the motors need to be oiled, what do you think
Batteries???
Nice one bruh
Thanks dude, appreciate it :)
FPVtips 👊😘
hi, is it possible to flash ESC even with old versions of Betaflight, such as 3.5.7?
Can you possibly put Blheli firmware back and how? Thanks
Definitely don't take my word for it and do some extensive research, buuuut in general it should be possible. Flashing your ESCs with firmware has for the most part nothing to do with Betaflight, unless some compatibility concerns have to be taken into consideration. For BLHeli just use the BLHeli configurator, it's pretty straightforward.
will the flysky version bind with the turnigy evolution?
I would expect so, but unfortunately this is not something I have tested personally, so do double check. I'd hate to mislead you so I'll say that I don't know.
I have the mobula 6/7 and I love every minute of it my stepdad love it too until I got it hung in his hair seriously
lol nice one, hope he was due for a haircut :p, seriously though, could not agree more, I think the mob7hd has been my fav micro for quite some time now and there's no getting it out of that spot in my heart
@@FPVtips he was just saying 30 minutes before how he needed one LOL
What are your settings for amps? I can't get my mah right. It starts going up before I even fly.
Defaults for the most part, don't recall changing anything there.
HELP: What battery switch should I be in for the stock batteries?
Not sure I get this?
@@FPVtips there is a little switch on the charger that was confusing. I gave up on it though. I could never get the mob6 to engage. Studied betaflight for weeks. Had some rc people look at it, but no luck. Seems this hobby just wasn't meant for me, but it looks like a lot of fun.
Will it work with d16 mode?
If anybody knows my problem plz help meee
What version of Betaflight are you running? If you're on 3.5.7 and you're trying to take into use RPM filters ESC firmware, you will need to be on Betaflight 4.1 at least.
Ah ok, its the 19000 KV version !! lg
For some reason when I press read setup nothing happens
With a battery connected? We need power for the ESCs. Doubt it's a driver issue, if you made it that far and are connected to the correct COM port.
what is boot button for?
Flashing firmware? Not super sure, never used it - check the docs, you can find them online.
my radio is not looking for my drone
radio master tx12
nvm i am big dumb
it keeps saying telemetry recovered telemetry lost
Mine will not bind please help
If you are using FrSky protocol, you might have to use D16 if your radio is using the newer ACCESS protocol. Otherwise, following the guide in the video should get you setup.
@@FPVtips I figured it out thanks
@@treeclimier272 Glad you did! Was it the D16 thing? Happy flying!
Oh snap. I’ve been trying to get mine in the air for a while now with no results! I’m going to switch the radio to d16. I have a betafpv LiteRadio 2. Maybe that will work! Thank you for the awesome review and set up guide 🙏🏾
hi, any idea why my mobula6, bind LED is solid when i plug in the battery, trouble binding, red solid/green flashing beside it :-(
What kind of connector do I need to plug this in to my pc? I thought it was USB Type C, but its actually not. Cant find it in the manuals either.
I have a dsmx internal receiver on mobula 6. I did the bind_rx in cli and it bound but when I engage motors it says rx loss on osd. Any help ?
Is it possible to be causing issues due to firmware mismatch?
