I'm in vintage - 1960s sports pieces - so the hunt is a very different game. It can take years, and there may only be one out there, two countries away. And that hunt is exciting !
Actually on the 17th May 2024 I brought my son to the Rolex Daimaru Store in Tokyo Station Japan 🇯🇵 to buy a new Rolex watch but after waiting for more than 30 minutes in the line, we were told rudely that there were no Rolex watches sold there ! It was a huge disappointment for my son and it made me want to give up applying for a Rolex dealership in my country as well as give up on Rolex watches ! The rude behaviour of the Rolex dealer in Tokyo Station has caused my son to give up on the Rolex brand ! By the way my son is now wearing an Omega watch , we might get an Omega dealership as a small side biz in our country !!!

The Roles AD in Vegas got me my Sub in 2 months. I was a first time customer there. Absolutely wonderful to deal with.

I had no idea about the waiting list. I remember flying to vegas with my coworker, we walked into Ceasars Mall in Rolex AD and bought an oyster perpetual, dropped $8,000, and walked out with his watch. This was 2004.
That was in 2004!
I got my 2024 2tone Datejust with diamond dial in 4.5 months.

I’ve been waiting 5 years at mayors in sarasota fl, unfortunately they are owned by watches of Switzerland so obviously it’s not going to happen.
its clear you dont really understand how this works. Its great your happy but you didn't get it much faster than anyone else these days, if anything much slower. In 2024 no one is waiting 5 years for a black sub... maybe a couple months max.
Why not just offer to slip them a pile of cash under the counter? Serious question.
I never tried. But I imagine most times it won’t work because of their reputation. I guess if they get caught they might lose their contract with Rolex / job.

It's a tool watch. You're concerned about fingernails scratching 904L SS?? Yea, you don't deserve a sub. If you were my client and I was your SA and you told me that, I would just look at you with a dumb stare and put the watch back in the case and be like, "you know what this watch is already sold to another client". And call one of my other clients that deserves it and won't be afraid to use it like it's intended to 😂
