I think Coumarine City and Paniola Town (Night) are also severaly underrated themes
Aspertia city is definitely my nr. 1. Black 2 was my first ever Pokemon game, so there is a lot of nostalgia factor, but booting up a new series and then hearing that tune, amazing.
Doesn’t matter what gen you first played. Aspertia City is the best “opening town” theme song ever. Better than Pallet town. New Bark Town. Little root town. All of them. It is EXACTLY what you are looking for in an opening town. Shoot, just hearing it, I’m ready to get my Oshawatt and get started on my journey.
White 2 was my first Pokémon game so I get the same feeling, like I almost come to tears… it’s really good in general but that extra oomf of nostalgia really hits hard

Glad Eterna City made the list. One of the most nostalgic pokemon sounds for me. I was shooked at no Littleroot town though
Hi! I love littleroot town, and it was really hard to choose between Littleroot Town and Verdanturf Town. If you listen those songs, you will realize are practically the same song. So the answer is Littleroot Town is my number 15.5, and Verdanturf Town is my number 15.
Gen 2 music ftw! hopefully more music lovers see gen 2 music for the brilliance that it is. Gen 3, 4 and 5 are ofc awesome as well. More 8bit city themes tho! Great taste overall
Really sad that undella town is only 49th place, it fits perfectly to the city. But my favourite one is virbank city theme. Firstly, I have heard it when there was night and rain in pokemon, one of the best memories in pokemon for sure.
Yes! I know Undella Town fits perfectly, but honestly I think I like a lot this theme because it helps me to sleep. Actually, most of the time I prefer fast and lively cities themes.
And Virbank City has a beautiful theme, I love it. I can understand why is your favourite one. I see you like a lot Unova music!
Undella town sounds very sad in my opinion, like a place you can't return to or an vague memory of a nice moment almost gone. I like it but it makes me very nostalgic

Most people prefer Gen 2 Ecruteak/Cianwood, and that's fine, but HGSS Ecruteak is on a whole other level imo.

Honestly thought Azalea/ Blackthorn would be #1, but I can't deny Ecruteak in the slightest. Even putting aside the music, the history in storytelling and culture is just amazing.

Laverre City tiene una atmósfera que pocas ciudades tienen. En parte me recuerda a Floaroma Town. Creo que ambos temas saben transmitir muy bien lo que sus ciudades son😌

More than 20 years after playing Gold and Silver for the first time, I still have the Violet City theme in my head from time to time. For me, personally, that one is very iconic. It's also amazing how so much of this music was inspired by classical music.

I really like that song, and now that you mention it, maybe it could be on the list! I love all the songs on the list, but not all of them can be in the top numbers, that's why Undella Town is at number 49! I repeat, that doesn't mean I don't like it and of course it doesn't mean that the songs that don't appear I think are bad!
On the other hand I love to see that you also like Opelucid Town! I think it's an incredibly underrated track!

It's a really good question! As you can see I prefer fast cities themes, but there are also some quiet ones like Dewford Town or Opelucid City (White). I think it's mostly that the theme touches me, you know... Besides, surely the nostalgia factor also influences a little bit. Making these tops I've realized that I really like the 2nd generation music, even more than I thought.
There are about 5 Pokémon songs that I've always listened to, even before I got interested in video game music. One of these songs is Ecruteak City, and that's why it's at number 1. I hope I've expressed myself well!
