In this video, we’ll show you how to:
✅Use an old broken screen as a jig/holder for the home button
✅How to scratch off the coating of the home button flex & expose the traces
✅How to run 4 jumpers to solve the rapid click issue
✅How to apply UV Mask
✅And more!
This repair process is the same for iPhone 7, 7 Plus, iPhone 8 & 8 Plus. They all use virtually the same home button.
Also, these iPhones home buttons are paired to the motherboard, which means you cannot just replace them. So the home button flexes have to be repaired, to get full functionality like Touch ID and Home Button click.

You need to connect only 2 traces though (and it will perfectly work), the middle 2 ones, as there's only 2 lines inside an actual button. Outside 2 are just for flex reinforcement. It's better to restore all 4, but can be difficult if you don't have good soldering iron.
Ah interesting. Didn't know that.
Dude, finally someone making videos that doesnt bore me to death.
Haha appreciate that.
Fascinating to watch! FYI: UV light can cause cataracts on the lens in your eyes …
Thank you for watching! It's important to be aware of the potential risks of UV light exposure.
What a great job
Thank you!

Yes, it depends on where it's torn. If you're in the USA, send me a message and a picture of the the damage:
www.vccboardrepairs.com/contact-us
Is the repair process same for 7 plus
Yes! 7 and 7 Plus is the same design.
8 and 8 plus is slightly different than 7 and 7 Plus. But the concept is the same to repair
@@VCCBoardRepairs Thanks for the quick reply king, imma try it out right now
Good luck!

so anyways...
These new JC home buttons aren't that bad
I have the exact same problem. How much does the repair cost?
Hey Joe! Send us a message and we'll send you over a quote: www.vccboardrepairs.com/contact
doesent the black lines need to be connected with jumper wires ?
As you can see in the video, it worked as is
👍
🙌
What temp is your iron? are those jumper wires coated?
375C. They are non-insulated wires
@@VCCBoardRepairs thanks jesse that helps a lot, i’m still a beginner learning to jump wires. I’ve been playing around 300-320c and it’s not sticking I thought either my tips are bad or maybe my coated wires are causing this lol will try higher temps :)
Jesse I have an iPhone 8plus that had a shorted cap near the Nand, so I took off the shorted 3V cap and the phone does boot up but the problem is the phone shows apple logo on screen then shuts down. Any advice ?
That could be many things. Best to post this in my group and see what advice people come up with
Www.vccboardrepairs.com/vcc-fb-group
How can this happen anyway?
actually i mention it in the video. sometimes when the screen breaks, the frame of the screen moves & that flex is screwed to the frame, so it rips
@@VCCBoardRepairs Apologies, I skipped right to the repair! I also do repair and I kinda wanted to just see the actual work being done :)
Haha no worries!
It has only 4 traces?! I must find my broken flex immediately
Can you help me figure out how to fix an htc bolt? Whenever I try to charge it (the charging port isn't broken, I don't think) when it's powered off, it tries to turn itself on but the it gets itself in a loop were the htc powering on screen shows the htc logo then turns off then goes back to the htc logo when it turns on then it goes back to turning off and it happens again and again until it starts overheating. I followed a video tutorial on replacing the battery myself, which I did Without a problem using the same brand of battery and I'm wondering if it's a component or chip or maybe it just overheats to quickly cause someone broke. Might you help please?
Ah, unfortunately I don't have much experience with HTC devices.
Could just be a bad replacement battery
You could also ask for advice in my FB group www.vccboardrepairs.com/vcc-fb-group
@@VCCBoardRepairs thanks, hopefully it doesn't lead me to just resetting my phone cause I have tabs that I need to keep.
It looks like a damaged power button. Once I was repairing a Huawei that had a similar problem, it kept resetting and the customer said it was a battery and I should replace it. After removing the motherboard and starting the phone, it turned on without a problem. It turned out that the power button is always pressed.
And if that doesn't help, the phone is probably bricked :/
@@cccccc5317 how so?
@@marz.6102 remove motherboard and locate power button flex (it should be common with volume + and - buttons) then measure in diode mode if any of them is shorted to each other
Great work bro, iPhone 7 home button flux cable broken is broken, this one is original, I need to know how many tracks are there... I have not scratched it yet?
dude this is super easy come on do something more exciting LOL,but not bad for beginners
Yes! Super easy. Next video will be more exciting
Hey I have a question: when I try to put solder onto the scratched out part of the flex it just refuses to hold on and behaves like oil does when you pour it in water… why is that and what could I do to fix it? (Btw I have scratched the cable down to the shiny copper and also put flux on it)
bad tip not wetting
