      Hi Shaolin, yes you can. However, you would need two sets of cartridges and chips. Probably not recommended until a chipless driver or reset chips come out for that printer. You'll end up spending a lot of money on just the chips by doing that.

    Nice video, If this works so good for the Epson printer what about an HPs Or other printers. I got rid of my HP 4470 because I can't afford the ink. (i'm only on SS) If the chips come off that easy, must you keep doing this for each cartridge purchase, or can you just reuse those and keep refilling them? Man, It's all about saving money so we all can afford to run our printers. Thanks again for the great video. (I only wish this was a tank printer)

    • @LeeLeesCraft
      @LeeLeesCraft  Месяц назад

      Thank you for watching the video and for your great question! Unfortunately, the technique of removing and reusing chips varies significantly between printer brands and models. For HP printers like your former HP 4470, the situation can be more challenging than with some Epson models because HP often updates its firmware to restrict the use of non-HP or refilled cartridges.
      For most printers, once a chip registers a cartridge as empty, it cannot be reset or reused as is. This means that in most cases, you would need to purchase new cartridges or explore methods to reset the chip, which, it's important to note, is not always possible.
      Given your focus on affordability, looking into printers like the Epson EcoTank or other tank-based printers might be more cost-effective in the long run. These printers do not use traditional cartridges and instead have refillable ink tanks, which significantly reduce the cost of continuous ink replacement.
      Thanks again for your interest and support of the video!

    What size refillable cartridges are you using? I bought a 7840 BUT purchased refillable cartridges for the 7820 on accident. The size is different and it didn’t seem like it would fit in the printer.

    • @LeeLeesCraft

      Hi Kristen, that is interesting because the 7840 and the 7820 are the same printer. The 7840 just holds more paper. They both use the same ink cartridges. I order my empty cartridges from here: www.dynamitegorilla.com/product-page/802xl-refillable-cartridge-set-no-chips

      Hi Lory, i would test the cartridges that you purchased that came with the chips to make sure that they work on the 7820. After you test the cartridges can you let me know how they work out?

  • @poisonoverdose1
    @poisonoverdose1 3 месяца назад +1

    I though the chip was independent of how much ink was in the cartridge. Therefore, how do you hack the chip over and over? I'd hate to think you had to purchase new Epson cartridges, every time you wanted to refill the refillable ones. Please explain. Thanks so much!

    • @LeeLeesCraft
      @LeeLeesCraft  Месяц назад

      You would indeed need to purchase new cartridges each time the ink runs out if you continue using traditional Epson cartridges. Given this inconvenience and ongoing expense, I would recommend considering a different type of printer. One good alternative is the Epson EcoTank ET-15000, which features large, easily refillable ink tanks instead of traditional cartridges. This model significantly reduces the hassle and cost of constant cartridge replacement, making it a more convenient and economical choice.

      Hi Cherish, that's the reason why I ended up getting the Epson ET-2760 to printout small prints until they release a reset chip for that printer or a chipless driver. Printing 12x12 photo panels, I was only getting 7 or 8 prints before having to replace it. Unfortunately, there aren't any cheaper options for cartridges or chips. I keep searching. • @LeeLeesCraft
      @LeeLeesCraft  3 года назад +1

      Hi Cynthia, if you are using the chips from the original cartridges that came with the printer, those cartridges are what they consider a starter pack. So the chips are programed to show very limited ink inside the cartridge. So once the chip shows that its empty the printer will show as empty regardless of how much ink is inside the cartridge. You'll need to purchase another set of epson ink.
