The best part of this song is that it is really Eren's song. About all the pain and anguish, he feels about what he must do. He just wants to scream out and vent all of his frustrations but instead he just keeps moving forward. What a sad character.

As an avid metal fan. That breakdown at 2:05 was one of the hardest, nastiest, most brutal I've ever heard!
When i see someone talking about this song, almost everytime they are talking about the "lose it all" part, I know it's good, but the heavy parts needs more recognition too
it's a real nasty breakdown, that's for sure. what's also amazing about it is, that they didn't just write a breakdown for the sake of it, but they actually reworked the intro theme into it - the part that resembles the titans moving onwards, the rumbling so to speak - which just works so amazingly well.
Far from being one of the hardest, nastiest, most brutal breakdowns in metal history. But still good nonetheless.

look all the other AOT ops are incredible, and no doubt in that, especially Red Swan. But man, this op really captures eren perspective this season and really captures eren’s character. The fact it goes from heavy metal to a slower and calmer verse and then hits you with “RUMBLING RUMBLING”. Bravo SiM, you impressed me yet again

Yeah, this series will go down as one of the best anime out there.

I think it will go down as one of the biggest disappointments ever right beside game of thrones (unless the anime original endings theories are true which I am not confident will happen)

It only got delayed because of the page limit on the monthly magazine it was releasing on
So they aren't "additional" since if the page limit was 59 pages instead 51 we would've gotten said pages immediately with the rest of the chapter
But yes if they keep it vague it won't be perfect but it's better than the "then what's the point" feeling that the final pages' ending choice give off

Safe to say, that breakdown at 2:07 personally ripped me to shreds. It literally rumbled my entire house.
Also, I was taken aback a bit. This is definitely a new mix and a less powerful one, in my opinion. I can only imagine his lower harsh vocals in the rest of the song with the original mix... damn.

When I first heard this opening, I thought it was so MASSIVE and full of energy, that I knew by first hearing this would become a classic.
Yes, many of us were a bit annoyed at first that Linked Horizon weren't choice for this moment. But SiM did such an amazing work here, that you just need to embrace this energy and enjoy this wonderful piece of art.

@@thenoob1407 I mean they were until Seinai submitted his 4 days later after I submitted mine. I did karaoke version later too, but it's not as default because karaoke lags for minority so channels don't really enforce it when there are normal subs available.
I was just saying that because in those 4 days only about 3 people said something about the subs and once Seinai submitted his every second comment talks about the subs plus this comment has 125 likes rn, so that's atleast 40x more feedback. That's what I was talking about.
I was kinda frustrated not because Seinai's getting so much praise, but because of the lack of mine. Seinai basically copied the style of mine and just changed the font and added a different transition effect. It propably was an accident, but it doesn't change the fact that what I said is true. But that's just how it goes sometimes I guess.
When you do subs for OPs and EDs you usually have to be satisfied with just liking it yourself and mainly doing the subs for yourself, not others. For example, my last 4 subbed vids (each vid had 1mil+ views) got only about 20 comments total regarding the subs. It's a nice lesson in life that effort doesn't usually equal to results.

I've been looking for this comment for over 10 minutes! And, finally someone said it. I never thought reggae would fit with heavy metal/rock (dk the difference). There is also another genre at the near end, which I can't quite name. But, just how SiM managed to put several genres into one big masterpiece is truly amazing!!
@@ghostwatcher8679 that's actually pretty common for metal genres. incorporating many different elements from different genres and make it work in a metal style. from reggae to ska, rap to jazz, classic or folk music.. there's really a mix of anything you could imagine out there.
metal isn't just "heavy metal" and that's it, there's literally a mix of styles for everyone to enjoy - so if you are interested, you'll definitely find stuff like that.

I love the fact that for this season's op and ed, they are also the most popular songs for SiM and Ai Higuchi respectively. This season so far is absolutely amazing, and the choice of songs for this season brought much more needed attention toward the singers as well as revamping the excitement that comes along Attack on Titans.
It’s a bit of a shame that Linked Horizon didn’t do the opening for the final season, but SiM did a phenomenal job with The Rumbling. It fits AOT perfectly. We’re entering a new era of anime where this masterpiece will be completed and in a way it’s sad but at the same time, it’s great that we’re getting the conclusion to a story that’s captivated anime watchers for almost a decade.
