I love the old abandoned trails! I've been working on clearing an old road in the Cobequid highlands of Nova Scotia called British Lake Road, in the Economy River Wilderness Area. I use a Silky 650, no need to carry a chainsaw! When I'm done it will open up a continuous hiking route through the wilderness from Northumberland to Fundy. There are already ATV trails that do a similar thing but they're basically roads, this will be more fun to hike, run, mtb, bc ski, etc.
Really enjoyed that, Brad! Great to see how the Sakatawi area can be connected to the top of the 4M Circle. My favourite part of the video by far was the portage between Little Rice and Rice (10:00 - 15:20). Having done it myself I couldn't help but laugh because I could feel your pain. I was travelling solo and had to double trip that bugger. Thanks for posting - a good watch on a quiet New Year Day.
Maybe I'm too old and do not understand RUclips viewers... it's 10:25 pm Dec 31st. There's 3,290 views and ONLY 209 LIKES! Come on people! Hit the button! Great trip boys! Wish I was with you, minus the skeeters.. 😁 I was dirt biking a swampy power line 50 yrs ago. I got my bike stuck real good. Got off and tried to move it..freed it up to where my bodies grabbed it. I was knee deep in mud. I could not get my boot/foot out. Had to take the boot off, left it, went home and got a shovel.. Those were the days!
Been through close to that area years ago, thanks for showing me which route NOT to take with the kids, too challenging for little ones I think. Great trip, thanks for sharing.
Like it like it like it a lot ! Wen i saw you shoe broke i thought about my many attempts , long storie short, now i use short wader boots . They are tuff, made for water and slippery rocks and dry well. Maybe better would be "canyon boot" but not easy to find. Thank you for your real expeditions you inspire me.
Awesome trip, I thought you were going to head south from Arbutus into Stony and Potier/Yeo into the unknown, but you can do that in 2024 :) Great video as always up by the watershed !
Looks TOTALLY AWESOME. I have always wanted to do a trip to cross northern Ontario ?west to east or the other way. Seeing this makes me want to keep the plan alive.
Depends on what your trip involves, but I suggest highway 17 as a good portion of you're route along the Superior coast. Simply incredible scenery. Back or frontcountry at Pukaskwa or Lake Superior Parks; can't go wrong! Ouimet canyon is a great day trip experience.near Thunder Bay.
Yes, and I'm disappointed I didn't have enough time to fish. I'll be back this summer on a more relaxed pace to some other lakes to try my luck. Good bass and walleye area.
Brads wife here-Leah!! I LOVE his stach. In fact, he joked about rocking his stach, and I made him keep it, because he looks so sexy. And he doesn’t stink, he smells amazing 🤤
Great trip, crazy how that burn made it so barren , good to see the boys with you @lostlakes @xanderbudnick , lots of fun waves, happy new year, we watched your vid over coffee on New years morning! 🛶
Three trip vids in a month...this has to be a first on this channel. Love it. Great vid!
Haha, just for you Jon! 😁 Slight pro of having an injury...

Thanks, wauw
When did Ron Jeremy start canoeing?
Great Vlog guys.
Happy Paddling.

I almost lost my boot on a boggy portage...there must be some terrible stories out there of people finishing canoe trips shoeless
Haha, I couldn't even imagine doing some of those portages shoeless. Ouffff... These mudpits seem bottomless.
Always great to see some more local areas around Gogama/Timmins. I think only you can make a trip like this into a weekender :P

Sweet trip man! Any fish in there?

I’d be trolling a lure out the back as you paddle pretty much the whole time. Lazy fishing.
Cool, an old "Mr Canoehead was here" sign.
Pretty cool to see that still hanging up on an old tree. I wish they still made them that way.
hey brad looking fr whitewater nova craft advice?
Oh it worked! The map led nowhere
I can't believe Brads wife let's him out of the house with that damn hair line and mustache. You know he stinks too
Brads wife here-Leah!! I LOVE his stach. In fact, he joked about rocking his stach, and I made him keep it, because he looks so sexy. And he doesn’t stink, he smells amazing 🤤
