Shot selection and discipline....huge learning moment and to learn to exercise patience and wait for the moment. High risk equals low reward in PB it seems. Christian, you are helping the PB community grow, learn and become the players that we want to be .... sharing your experience is so appreciated!

Great topic, glad you made this video. I clammed up and lost an important elimination match 4 months ago (played not to lose rather than played to win), and since then have been diving into mental toughness. It’s honestly transformed my mindset and overall game :) Keep the content coming!

Every pro needs mental toughness. Resiliency, perseverance, etc. you’re a top 10 pro for a reason mate. Relentless to give up regardless of the situation or odds.

Love following your growth along this journey! Thanks for sharing these nuggets!! Shot selection, not rushing the play and letting the opponent make the mistake is such a key strategy that the higher level players understand. Deep breaths is pretty key too!! :)

Thank you, Christian! I can't believe I watched the whole video in one time! Stay Neutral! Beathe baby breathe! Select your shots and don't just wing it! Thank you! BTW, I think you do practice what you just told us after watching quite a few of your games!

Christian, at MLP you seemed to be getting in Will Howells' face at the net going into a time out and he flipped the ball into your chest. Did that have anything to do with the momentum changing in that game? What is your opinion of players yelling at each other during games?

Thank you! I'm the person who hits the shot that hasn't been working in a tight game, thinking I'll come through when it counts. I'm going to stop that nonsense. 😅

I noticed around 3.00 that you used a term that may be ill advised. The term was “if you’re prepared, there’s very little questioning”. Now, I know what you meant, but our subconsciouses do not know the difference between the term used for doubting yourself verses the term used to stay open minded when we’re under stress. If you don’t stay open minded by questioning yourself, you’re done & have already lost the match. Because inquisition is the only way to correct the mistakes & repeat the successes you make during the match, not to mention asking questions as the way to analyze your opponent during the match & figure out how to beat them. So we should not be using terms for ourselves that our subconsciouses cannot discern the difference between the positive meaning & the negative meaning; especially when training or preparing for competition. Competition is a very unique phenomenon because so much of how we think & perform goes on autopilot. Because of this I think it’s very bad advice to feed my mind with terms that can carry a double meaning like this. This discerning between terms, phrases or things that we coach ourselves with during competition is critically important to get right, so that we can be on autopilot & not have to think very deeply about the difference between definitions while out there on the court in the heat of battle.
My guess is that you agree, since you said almost the exact same thing later in this video, so I know you get what I’m saying. But I don’t know that you were aware that this term “questioning yourself” carries a complicated double meaning within our subconscious. Our subconscious is very literal.

Generally love your stuff, but…Sorry, awful timing with this video.
While I feel Will should have been penalized for hitting the ball at you, your mental collapse was evident.
Losing from up 19-11 or whatever it was….getting bagged repeatedly. Full collapse. We all still struggle with the mental side at our level.

I recorded this before MLP. I tried to move on from that point right away, but it seems there is still much room for me to grow!

You're normal. Even the best have weaker moments along the journey.
Knowing what you want to do is the first step, making it part of us when situations are tough, takes time/effort.
Nobody gets it right *all* the time, great watching your journey.
      Thanks for sharing.

You have a lot to work on, I agree with the guy who said you collapsed. Christian you need to take the higher road sometimes. JW always does and he has got game. It's ok to be passionate but you don't know where the line is.

    • @RevolutionTutors

Btw- complete BS that he wasn’t penalized. Hitting the ball at you is an escalation for sure and a step too far. But yea. Just thought the timing of the drop was funny
