    Guys. I know the max load capacity is 1200g. My sony mark 3 and tamron 24-75 weight just the same amount. I really want to get this exact gimbal because of the AI tracking feature but the load is just on the edge. Has anybody tried this setup and was it hard on the motors?

      I have used a Canon M6 Mk2 with a viltrox speedbooster, canon 16-35 L series lens and a Hollyland wireless mic. The lot weights around 1.8kg. If you use counter weights the gimbal balances well and it works great, no issues. I use this combo a lot actually. I believe I showed the set ip in the video. Would this be enough info?

    Hello. Ok, got the Gimbal today, watched the Hohem balancing video, I have the Gimbal balanced and it is working great. My only concern and I am not certain if this is normal or not but if I tilt the handle to the left or to the right as in lean it to the left or right the camera wants to roll out of control rather than stay steady. Is that normal for a Gimbal to do that? Thanks in advance.

    Hey Sam, great review. So. is the AI tracker attachment completely new or is it the same as the M6? I would love to have that ability to be tracked while standing to the side but I feel the price for the MT2 kit is too much seeing as I don't do mirrorless filming. Also, I hope that attachment for the mobile phone could become available for the M6 to make it easier with using a wireless mic receiver.

    In general it's almost perfect with one major flaw: it's payload. even my aps-c camera setup with mic receiver weights 1.150kg. THat's 50 grams left till maximum gimbal payload. If you have a fullframe camera - sadly you have to forget about this gimbal

    • @SamuelSotiega
      @SamuelSotiega  Год назад +5

      well, it is listed as 1.2kg but I have pushed it to almost 2Kg. I had to add some counter weights. But I don't think this gimbal is designed or intended for full frame cameras. It is designed for smaller set up, camera and compact lens. If you need to use a full frame camera, I would suggest the zZyun Weebill 3S, which I have also reviewed. Fantastic heavy duty gimbal...

    this is the big brother to the m6 with better payload and more flexability. Same A.i piece that the m6 got, this one is more build with more axis and for mirrorless cameras which makes it a all in one for both applications be it a iphone or a real camera without the hassle or worry. just sent back the m6 for this one. the A.i this gimbal has is the gold standard as far as im concerned when it comes to gimbals for mobile phones. The m6 was pretty good with deadband dont see it as a option but nothing a firmware update can't fix. good video.

    I love the Hohem gimbals, mainly because of the AI tracking. I have and use both the M6 and Isteady V2. Both have the AI sensor but one is really tiny and can't accept accessories like a heavy case or filters. Its advantage is its so small it fits in your pocket. Of course the M6 will take practically any accessories you want.
    For mirrorless cameras, I've been using the Fieyutech G6 Max. It's a great gimbal but is wearing out. So, I've been looking at replacing it with the Fieyutech Scorp Mini or Zhiyum Crane M3s. Now the MT-2 comes out and it now seems like the best option. Is there any reason I shouldn't get this over the other two? Note that the main mirrorless camera I use for video is the ZV-1 with accessories, so all of them will handle this load.

    • @SamuelSotiega
      @SamuelSotiega  Год назад +1

      Uff, hard to say. At the moment, stabilisation is slightly better on the Scorp mini or M3S. The MT2 is also good but a bit not as smooth. But the tracking on the Mt2 is unmatched by any of them so if that is important, it’s a no brIner. I am not suggesting the MT2 is bad at all, i got super smooth shots and I am very happy with it but there are purists out there and if you are one of them… personally I am on a holiday trip and I took the Mt2 with me, not any other.. once you put on the camera or lens (or both) inbuilt stabilisation, you hardly notice if you use it correctly…

      @@SamuelSotiega well the saga continues. The MT2 wouldn’t hold my R7 or R5 with the smallest lens I own. It would work for a short period and then error. I had it as balanced as possible too. The other thing was the motors were whining with a very high pitch sound. Very much caught on video. So I think I may just go with the M6 and upgrade my cellphone. Using a iPhone 11 currently. @@SamuelSotiega Well... I didn't give up. I found that it was due to me not having one of the axis's balanced correctly. I was able to get it to work well with the R7 and a old 50mm F1.4 + RF adapter.. I tried my 35 F1.4, but could get it to balance as I needed to push the camera further back than the included arca Swiss plate would allow. I gotta find a little longer one so it'll balance. Also, I think if I got rid of my RF adapter and just went with a native RF lens, I'd be in good shape as well. Ultimately, I love the thing. I need to figure out what fairly inexpensive RF lenses I can pair up with it now. Since more than likely I'll be shooting with my R7, I have to factor in that crop. I will more than likely be filming myself shoot wildlife with my R5, so the extra reach of the R7 may come in handy there. However, for general shooting, I'm thinking something pretty wide. My 16-35 would be great, but since it's adapted to RF, it seems to be too front heavy. Not certain if a bigger arca plate would help or not. Will be getting the viewfinder awful close to back motor if I go too much further.
      Anyway, thanks so much for your time and responses, I truly appreciate it! Take care!

      Different gimbal’s offering different features. The RS3 mini, in my opinion, is a better developed gimbal, the screen and menus are way better. The MT2 is amazing at tracking as no other gimbal offers that feature. In terms if payload the RS3 mini will handle more payload but I think both aim at small compact cameras. The stabilisation will be better on the RS3 mini because you get to adjust the deadband, but if you know what you’re doing the Mt2 will give you also amazing results. As a content creator, the MT2 is always in my camera bag because tracking is very important to me. If not, the RS3 mini would be an option, but also the zhiyun crane M3 and the weebill 3S. As the phone will be linked to the gimbal, the gimbal will do the tracking, hence moving the camera as if it was happening naively using the camera. Does this make sense? you didn't mention wether or not the MT2 has the same "fast-switching" of the motors when using wide angle lenses on smartphones, i see that the motors setup here are similar to ordinary gimbals (unlike the M6), is it possible to switch their positions like with the M6? i would assume it does have this fast-switching option since it looks very similar to the M6 but have you tried it out?
    also unfortunately it is not so clear from Hohem's literature if the MT2 supports the Canon 5D Mark 4 or not (for shutter), they only seem to mention compatibility with Sony Alpha and Z series cameras and Canon R series cameras
    price wise though this is a killer gimbal... i can't believe you can get such a good gimbal for such a cheap price nowadays, that amazes me how far we've become

      @@vonwolfersdorff it’s a sunshade, think of a mattebox with a top flag, this is the top flag, so you can position it anywhere you want to block any sun reflections with a rubber flexible arm. Since I bought it, I take it with me everywhere I go and use it all the time. If you do any filming where the sun could be in the front of the lens, at whatever angle, it is super helpful.

    Great video. Finally we got a in depth and I didn’t even know it had a remote from all the other vids out there.

      Glad it was helpful! The remote is a separate bit of gear you can buy, it does not come standard with the gimbal. But I use it a lot and it is super handy. Glad you liked the video!

      It all depends on what you need to use it for. I use it a lot of the times and it works a treat..
