I'm very happy that Bortoletto is in a Sauber since he has 0 pressure, Alonso as a mentor, Hulkenberg as a teammate ( being another mentor aswell) and anything close to a P10 will only make him look even better
The fun part? The last time Nico was teammates with a Brazilian, he was but a learner under Rubens at Williams in 2010. Now, he is the master to mentor Gabriel.
If you ever watch Bortoleto's interviews with the Brazilian press, it's amazing how chill he seems to be as a person. Easygoing personality, pretty charming. He also had a pretty interesting comment a few months back on a Motorsport BR podcast about how he thinks that if it's up to Piastri, there won't be any conflict between drivers at McLaren.
Agree with Law on Bortaleto. Watched him in Monza on the Saturday sprint race and he was amazing, such an aggressive driver. He is the true heir to Alonso’s legacy.
2025 will certainly be a crazy year. With Kimi and Liam in the top 4 teams, Totonator and Helmunator will do what they can to ensure the success of their 'John Connor.' And we got ourselves a War of the Southern Cross with Oscar and Liam battling at the front, with Jack and Gabe battling it out in the back.

Thank you for the Prema nuance!! So many videos about the rookies seem to gloss over the fact that Prema fumbled F2 this year. They talk about Ollie and Kimi having poor seasons but don't paint a full picture of what actually went on.
Again, I disagree regarding Lawson. He's not being shunned by Red Bull he is being given the freedom to get used to the Red Bull without serious pressure. He is being asked to deliver results the car can achieve without the expectation of a hyper talent. Antonelli has been hyped to the moon and compared to Max, and so the pressure is now on him to deliver results or be branded a flop.
Turn 1 every Race will be absolute carnage! The Rookies sending it everywhere, Lando in the middle of it loosing places, and Lance Stroll is also still there... its gonna be insane! xD
I read somewhere that Isack Hadjar left Hitech for Campos at the start of 2024 because he wanted to have to fight to get more racing experience. That's a big plus in my book
I was here so when he had a way lower subscriber count, and it’s so great to see law is almost at 100 K🎉. Very underrated channel and he will grow fast.
The RBR is a better car, Lawson is an experienced driver well-adapted for the situation. He will be the best scoring rookie. He commands every car he has driven far better than, at the VERY least, every other rookie on the grid. Frankly, I am not too hopeful for Antonelli. He's been plenty talked about, but little shown; Lawson has proven himself. At least for 2025. 2026 is up in the air, depending on how much Antonelli actually proves himself capable of this on-coming season.
The RBR is a better car than Mercedes today but not by much. Max’s performance in it makes us think that but it is very deceiving. 1. The cars have different strengths and weaknesses that make them better in different tracks as we saw this season. 2. Everyone not named Max Verstappen has had difficulty driving this “great” car. Because he is one of a kind driver and because the car is fully geared to suit him and only him. 3. Mercedes will have more development/wind tunnel time than RB. 4. Liam is going to be thrown to the wolves. I also think he will be the highest scoring rookie but mostly by virtue of him being in a front running team and the fact I believe none of the rookies will blow up right already. The pressure on Liam to perform will be like never before. It going to be rough even if he is having moderate success.
You saw the best of him and then the worst of him, so did the rest of the grid, not only do I not see him getting a contract mid season, I don't see anyone trading for him either in 26.
I also want to see him back. If he did what he did without even finishing his rookie season at F2 and no preparation at all, I am really excited to see him thrive under fair conditions to the other drivers (private testing, time to prepare, etc)
Happy New Year. Ive been watching you a while and I love your onput. I loved watching Michael as a rookie battling Senna and Williams drivers and I watched Max as a rookie pulling for him. I think Oscar can be a multi champion. Im not sure if Lando can. If he doesn't win next year he won't
Video is an hour and a half late today Law. No worries tho XD (I could track as when I reach the gym Law's video gets uploaded so I listen to it during my workout everyday).
There is no way in hell that Liam is going to sit quietly and let everything happen around him. RB know what he's like, so regardless of Marko's words, don't expect him to not be involved with improving his own car's set up. I don't see Max complaining if he does; he needs a strong teammate who can back him up so he doesn't have to try to win the team championship himself. I hope that the Sauber will be better this year (no surprise there), but not _too_ much. Why? I want to see young Gabi have a year out of the spotlight. Let him have a year to settle in without too many expectations, learn from Nico and probably Alonso (that would be more like Webber and Oscar - advice in dealing with the press, standing up for himself in the team, etc.), and then - assuming Audi actually turns out a half-decent car at the first time of asking - he could well take a significant step up in '26-'27. At least Jack will have his dad's experience to help in dealing with management and media. He seems to be a lovely lad, and fortunately isn't in the same sport as his dad was so there shouldn't be much in the way of comparison. I really hope he surprises everyone and does better than expected. He deserves some good time at the team (or in, at least a mid-range car) to show what he's capable of. My gut feeling is that he'll end up in WEC, which is hardly a big step down, and be a solid if not spectacular sports car driver. I don't know about Hadjar to make any comment, except to wish him well. It would be good to see that team improve and Yuki shows the grid that he should _not_ be lost from F1. If Haas carries on with its improvement, seeing Bearman getting regular points, if only the 7-10th place ones, would be excellent. If he does that, and Lewis doesn't hang around after his initial 2 years, he should be promoted. That's my opinion. I know others may disagree, but that's what we're all entitled to!
Very much looking forward to this. Maybe somemore interesting results with more Yellow flags. Because there were a lot of races without caution flags this past year(engine reliability/development freeze was the worst decision ever)
Let's say Kimi lives up to the "next Verstappen" hype and wins a bunch of races. Italy is going to go wild. Fisichella was the last Italian driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix: Malaysia 2006. That's almost 20 years without an Italian winning a race. If Kimi lives up to the hype then how much are Ferrari going to pay to steal him away from Toto? It won't be too long before it's been 20 years since Ferrari won the WDC. And as for an Italian WDC? That's Ascari all the way back in 1953. Let's wait and see.
Will Max be pleased if he manages to get 5 consecutive championships? For sure he will be but he will approach the season one obligation at the time as he has shown so many times. Him knowing the stats as the back of his hand, he will mention it if it's in direct reach but not before that. The three-tens for Lawson is nonsense. If the RB21 gets dominant again it's plenty sufficient. If not 0.3s is way to much. W'll see how much time he's granted before medea starts hacking away at his supports.
Lawson has consistently shown that if he is given a decent car, he can be competitive at the top of a championship in both DTM and Super Formula. He had bad cars in lower formulas and again with the RB.
If Liam deserves to have "a good few years not being in somebody else shadow" he should have been kept at VCARB and Yuki moved up. That would have kept the pressure off him to do better than Carlos did, not have to worry about stepping on Max's toes, get more races under his belt, etc. Yuki and Perez (?) at Cadillac in 2026? That would be an interesting team.
12:57 It's actually Borboleto! Hahahaha It's because of the fact his surname - BorToleto - is written similarly to BorBoleta, which means butterfly in portuguese. So it's common for people to shout "Voa, Borboleto" ("Fly, Borboleto/butterfly")

Funny to think how just sixish months back, when Ricciardo was still on the grid too many people were very worried how few young drivers was given the opportunity in F1 in the past few years. Well, you got what you wanted eh? Which means that there will be potentially just 5-8 (Lewis, Alonso, Nico, Cadi x2 for sure and then Stroll, Ocon etc) spots open for the next 7-8 years. It does not look good for the next generation of drivers. In fact you are kinda compiltely doomed if you are in F2-F4 right now.
@ Normally I would agree but basically Doohan and Hadjar are the two possible droppers. Imo Antonelli, Lawson, Bearman and Bortoleto are bound to be on the grid for the long run. Also Colapinto and Drugovich might(/should?) get their chance before any of the current junior category drivers. Interesting situation.
Both Mercedes and ferrari academy drivers have been vastly successful across disciplines in motorsport unlike the headless chicken that is redbull driver academy. Kinda surprising , considering they were making all the noise in early 2010s with Jules being the only fda driver on the path to drive for ferrari and mda being non existent.
If Lawson finishes P8 or higher in every race then he would be doing better than Perez. Thats all he needs to aim for. He has the advantage that Perez was so poor that improving on him should not be too hard (in theory)

Perez would have had to average p5 for rbr to have won the constructors
Even though Bortoleto is a Brazilian i see more of Prost in him than Senna
When are you planning to start gaming again? Last time you were here, you were playing as the Haas team.
The different between this year and last year is a kiddo. Not a bad thing but just reality.
Borboleto = Butterfly

Nicholas Latifi has fans?
Could someone remind me how the Alonso Rookie meme started?
If he doesn’t click in f1, where is his future?
