It's an absolutely brilliant video that captures the effects of PTSD to an amazing degree.

Fun fact, you can see anakin mouth the words “help me” which was originally included in the film but later cut out. Yet they left the mouth movement in, as sort of an Easter egg. It was meant to represent the torn nature, and how anakin was alive still, yet Vader was suppressing him. Anakin never stopped loving his master, even burning alive and de-limbed. Yet Vader took him over. Rather, mental illness took over. How many good men were tormented over the course of history just like that?

This is beautiful. Obi-Wan is my favorite Star Wars character because, while he isn't the main protagonist of any of the movies, he's always there for those who are. He's solid as a rock in the face of opposition. When Anakin turns evil, Obi-Wan stays true to what he knows is right. Even though he has to live in exile and make all kinds of sacrifices, he makes sure that Luke and Leia are okay. In the end, he sacrifces himself to help Luke. Luke gets the credit for blowing up the Death Star and saving the galaxy, but if it weren't for Obi-Wan's sacfrice that never would have happened.
I love this video because it brings to life for us the kind of hell that Obi-Wan must have endured. First off, he watched his friend and mentor Qui-Gon get killed. Then he watched his lover die in the Clone Wars. To top it al off, he's in a position of power and prestige on the Jedi Council in ROTS only to have the entire galaxy that he's fought to protect turn against him and believe he's a traitor. His clone friends try to kill him, he sees the footage of his friend and brother Anakin bowing before Darth Sidious, and slaughtering the younglings. Then he's forced to fight Anakin, only to watch him burning up while screaming "I HATE YOU!"
How much can one heart take? He must have gone through hell after going into hiding on Tatooine. I'm excited to see the Kenobi series when it comes out, but at the same time I'm terrified; I really hope they do justice to the PTSD that Obi-Wan would have been enduring.

This is why a "Kenobi" stand-alone film (or maybe series) could be a success, although it would have to be even deeper than "Revenge" - than any other "Star Wars" film we've ever seen. If the right director (Filoni/Favreau, possibly; possibly Villeneuve) could be persuaded to make it, it could win Academy Awards.

This is why the prequels were so amazing for those of us that had grown up with only the original 3. We knew there was a horrific story behind Anakin/Vadars story. To actually SEE the transition from good to evil; to see the heart break that Padme and Obi-Wan went through; to watch Yoda drop his staff when he felt so many die... I can't tell you what that was like, after so many years of only knowing of the tragedies.

It hurts even more when you're the one who has to put them in their place, because you know that they'll resent you for it. Despite the fact that it had to be done.

You may dislike the prequels for many reasons but you can't say they do not tell a beautiful and complete story together with the originals. And keeping that in mind, the sequels are just a slap in the face for all those who care about anything more than just mindless sci-fi crap when it comes to a star wars movie. Sure, the sequels have better special effects than prequels and originals altogether, but I'd rather watch a sci-fi movie with no special effects at all but with a beautiful story, than watch a crap movie with a ton of modern special effects and no story behind.

The PTSD acting by Sir Alec Guinness was not really an act. He was a combat veteran of WWII, and in that time he had seen the horrors of war. He commanded a Landing Craft Infantry at the Allied invasion of Sicily, and later ferried supplies and agents to the Yugoslav partisans in the eastern Mediterranean theater. When talking about the Clone Wars and the Rise of the Empire, he was drawing on the emotions of his own experiences. He made it feel real because it was real. As a combat veteran myself, I know those memories haunted him until his last breath. That is something which will never go away, no matter how much counseling you have or medication you take.

This is one of the very few videos that actually made me cry 🥲 Being in my thirties, I grew up with the remastered originals and the prequel trilogy. It has been a huge part of my childhood and this video perfectly expresses the whole tragedy that Anakin's life and his friendship with Obi-Wan has been.

I just finished watching this video for the first time after having watched the Obi-Wan series on Disney+ and I'm truly blown away. I don't have words to describe how incredible this edit is and how perfectly it aligns the two trilogies. Much like Sir Alec Guinness' acting in this scene, this edit has aged beautifully, lining up even better within the canon now that Obi-Wan has released and explored his PTSD in the aftermath of fighting his fallen friend. Never has the prequel trilogy transitioned so perfectly into the original trilogy as now. 17 years later and the road from Revenge of the Sith to A New Hope at last has a logic behind it that I can wrap my head around. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Anakin’s Dark Deeds from Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is one of my favorite scores of all Star Wars. Much love and respect 🫡 to John Williams who provided such phenomenal scores and soundtracks for all nine Star Wars films 1977-2019

I love how Alec Guinness depicts someone how has been through so much, and with the prequels, and obi wan Kenobi, it helped complete obi wans character. And Guinnesses face when he tells Luke about his father, really means it taunts him. I can not wonder how bad it would feel in obi wans place.

Wow, everything clears up after watching OBI-WAN KENOBI. The part where DV says, "you did not kill Anakin Skywalker, I did." and the ending of SW ep 6 where Luke says the same thing that Kenobi says. "then my friend is truly dead." same way Luke says, "Then my father is truly dead." this is where Anakin got his light back on the path. The writing is truly amazing. SW should have ended ep 6.

In this video all the pieces of the story come together, unfolding the tragedy of Annakin Skywalker from his childhood till his death and his transformation to a burnt and mutulated maniac. However at the very end of his life he returns to his former self showing compassion to his tortured son.
Very well made story with the old Obi Wan reliving his memories from a long time ago. Annakin's drama was his drama as well.

Now it needs the part from KENOBI when Anakin/Vader tells Obi Wan "You did not kill Anakin Skywalker...I did" and then Obi Wan tells Luke "He betrayed and murdered your father". That way it does solidify the whole excuse of "What I told you was true, from a certain point of view" in Episode 6
