Hey I've been finding your reviews to be insanely helpful and at this point I'm tired of the Elite Series 2's poor durability and lifespan and am looking right now for the best controller. if its not too much to ask I'd love to hear what you consider to be the best controller for xbox, with regards to back buttons, hair triggers, durability/life, and ergonomics/feel/weight, It would be truly helpful for me. even more helpful if you could point to a review you've done. Regardless thank you for creating shockingly amazing reviews and I wish you further success on them.

He man thanks for the comment! When it comes to longevity it’s a bit of a difficult quest for me to answer, as I do tend to move from controller to controller. For the past 10 months one controller I’ve used a lot is the victrix Gambit and the Dualsens edge. Gambit to me has one of the best aiming performances when it comes to potentiometer sticks, but I’ve seen comments from people where their left stick gave out on them and drift issues as well. The triggers on my Gambit lost some resistance so I can’t use them at the shortest settings due to accidental actuations. Also I’ve read comments from people where they feel it’s a cheap feeling product, to me it feels fine but something to keep in mind.
Snakebyte’s upcoming gamepad pro is a very decent Hall effect option, only if you are ok with 2 back buttons and don’t need Dpad input mapped to a back button. If those aren’t deal breakers then the gamepad pro is a solid options with a really good feeling trigger stop system that comes with a 5 year warranty.
Razer wolverine V2 chroma is a solid build option for 4 back buttons, only if you are willing to learn the shape of that controller and you don’t use kontrolfreeks. Mine has had about 80 hours of use and the only thing I’ve noticed is a slight whine from the right trigger. The trigger stops only cut 50% of the pull but do adjust auto max deadzones.
Gamesir G7se is a good option if trigger stops aren’t that important and you are ok with only 2 back buttons. The physical design I’m not a big fan of as the removable plate moves alot in my hands whilst gaming.
Fusion pro 3 by PowerA is also a solid 4 back buttons controller, but I’d say only get that if you are comfortable with back buttons, as it’ll test your skill to not accidentally actuate the left top button. Also triggers stops are not that great and don’t auto adjust max deadzones, with no software option either. I had to do a workaround for the triggers to work at the shortest settings.
It’s so confusion how these controllers come so close to being perfect but then they’d lack on or two features that are important to people. If only Microsoft had good qc for series 2, that’d be the best option, but personally I’ll never buy one ever again.

I have this controller. After 1 month or so stick drift on one module. I contacted them for warranty (wasn't easy) and they sent me a replacement one. A week later, the 2nd module drifted lol this controller was good when it did work. I had a choice of paying $45 for 2 modules that maybe last a month or 2, OR I pay $30-50 for a cheap back button controller that will last me a year or so. So I went with the cheap controllers lol powerA Enhanced controllers and hyperX are $30 with 2 back buttons and turtle beach controllers often on sale for around $40.
Now I use the gamesir t4 kaleid and gamesir g7 SE. I will only buy hall effect controllers now lol

Hey thanks for sharing. I think the software outer deadzone and no option to recalibrate is the issue here. I wish they had included the calibration, coz when this works it’s absolutely amazing to use, but like you mentioned buying the modules so frequently is not right.

The build feels good and premium , I know it's personal but for me my middle finger rest on the buttons pretty well, im not a big fan of the bumpers and not a big fan of the triggers either, i only had 1 software bug or issue in the s and i remove and reconnect the cable and solved it, on the x i neved had even 1, i tried this software on xbox i don't know it's matters or not, i really don't do too much in the software so i don't know too much about that part, i think the longer s5 is better, it's feels more accurate even when i tried controlfreaks on the short s2 sticks, the modules is not cheap, i wish they sell 2 modules only in 1 package, this s model is feels like a downgrade since day 1, i don't say the x is the best ever but even the nice magnetic premium box is gone (came with the x) my eswap s is around 1 month old so i can't say anything but my x was survived 8-9 months of heavy sweaty warzone and mwii multiplayer, i see a lot of peoples have problem with these 2 controller so maybe i was just lucky, one last thing, my default silver s5 sticks which i came with the controller i used these for months without drift and my new red pack s5 something sticks (both) is have a little drift, right after out of box, so yeah kind of hit or miss, still really really like the controller, both s and x, my favorite pro controllers yet, and yeah sucks the s only had 2 back buttons and sucks the x is too big

Im really excited, november 10 is almost here, i just want to play some fast paced cod, and i can't wait to early december for the warzone movement buff

this is my current controller i use, i also own a scuf instinct pro, which in comparison to this pad just feels so much slower. dunno if its because of baked in deadzones, or the much input delay. i also own g7 se, very good pad, but i feel like it also feels slow in comparison to thrustmaster. i feel like thrustmaster when overclocked to 2ms /500hz with 0 center and outer deadzone and 0% trigger deadzone in software, feels by far most accurate and responsive pad i have used personally .

Oh yes when this works, it’s one of the best experiences. Unfortunately for me and a lot of others, there are some issues which seems to be individual unit related, coz others don’t have the same issues. It’s definitely my go to on Xbox and I’ll make an update if and when it breaks on me.

The perfect controller for FPS games, BUT, the stick module worked perfectly for three weeks until it started glitching out so bought a replacement module online and the same thing happened, again 3 weeks later - such a shame. I now own a Gamsir G7 SE and am very happy, though with a more premium build i think it would be a PERFECT controller. I'm hoping they release a "pro" version for around £80 as I think it would be the new king of controllers. Always appreciate your videos, man.

Bought the Eswap S in summer 2022, along with a spare stick. By winter 2022, the spare stick was needed. By spring 2023 the second original stick developed massive drift too, so I ordered two more replacement sticks. These did better but here's the thing - I took a four month hiatus from gaming, and came back to find stick drift on both sticks, which had been fine during my last gaming session before that. So the sticks develop drift even if you don't use them. So in two years I've paid for the controller itself and three replacement sticks already, and none of the sticks work now. It's getting expensive and now have to decide whether to keep buying sticks that are almost the cost of a cheap controller... or just buy a cheap controller.
As for how good the controller itself is when the sticks function correctly - it is really great (for me and my hands). Such a let down on the sticks though. "Replaceable sticks, yay!" Sure, but they suck so keep on replacing and replacing.

Hey bro sorry missed your comment. So there are 3 tiny screws on the module which you can open. You can pry open the orange caps and the potentiometer can be taken out and put back in. I’d say if it’s under warranty then don’t do it, coz you might damage it. I did it coz I wanted to check which modules they were using.

Been using the Thrustmaster eSwap X controller for 2 years now, I noticed the stick replacements (Both X and S models) I've been getting all have problems with them. Most of them develop some kind of weird slow turn, stick drift is good on all of them but I don't know the cause for the slow turn. At first the stick replacements were fine, but literally all of them have issues now. The date on the motherboards for all of them have been 2019 or 2021. Feels very inconsistent with the aiming.

Hey so I ordered a broken one off eBay and was able to fix it by swapping the places of the potentiometers. I’ve ordered some Favorunion potentiometers which are of some rating as the C&K ones used here, I’m hoping to see if using those when the sticks develop issues resolve it, as they can be much cheaper then buying whole modules. What I don’t understand is why this is happening so quickly as the potentiometers and the pots look absolutely fine to me.
I’ve been working on a video on stick drift and my experience over the years as I’ve been extremely lucky. There are some interesting findings I’ll be showing in that video and I think the issue with these modules is related to how the sticks wear out. I’m thinking of making a separate video showcasing the potentiometer replacement and how it can help with these modules, my only worry is people doing the process under warranty. Still I think it’ll help others and potentially save some ewaste as well. Thanks for sharing your experience bro, it really helps me and others as well.

Hey if you could release a video on how to replace the potentiometers it would be greatly appreciated! I tried replacing them with other thrustmaster potentiometers but I felt like I just ended up messing it up cause the aiming felt weird. I easily could of messed something up though.

Not sure if it’s a batch thing, but they’ve just come out with the eswap x2 now so hopefully the issues have been resolved, I can’t confirm it as I haven’t tried them yet, but the S5 sticks seems to be performing better.

Hey bro thanks! I should have filmed it when I did it 🤦🏽‍♂️ I didn’t want it show something that could void warranty on the product. The process is very simple, there are many videos showing how to clean the potentiometer pot. One thing that’s a bit tricky is putting the potentiometer back in, there are 2 clips that supposed to hold it in place and they need to snap in place through the opening, other than that it’s not a problem. I think I’m going to make a video on this one as it might be happening to alot of others, but I want to do one better and get the favor union sticks and see if those ones work on these modules.

      @@thephototechy Thanks for responding!
Yeah, if you continue to use the Eswap and the sticks start glitching again, I think so many of us would be grateful. Haha. I’ve gone through 8 (!!) total stick modules, and they all ended up with the jitters. My warranty on the controller itself expired, and I tried to return my latest $50 kit (the colored one with two sticks and some other components). Like another commenter here said, the customer support was brutally slow and painful.
Also to note: I think the exact thumbstick module differs between the Eswap S and Eswap X controllers. The S uses “S2 NXG” modules, and the X uses “S5 NXG” modules. I’m not exactly sure what the differences are, but I used the Eswap X and had all my replacements be the S5 or the color variants of the S5.
Anyway. Please keep up the great work. For me, thumbsticks are the most important factor when choosing a controller for FPS use. No other reviewer goes into the detail you do!
I hope Thrustmaster fixes their quality control. It’s a shame because to me I think these are the best-feeling aiming sticks available.

I think you probably saw my Amazon review too , thank you for the detailed review ❤
The stick modules are way too overpriced and not available in many countries including mine and I'm trapped ,the main problem is the sticks it will automatically jitter if you use it or not I haven't touched my controller for 1 week I only used it for one day but after a week the stick started to drift , drift is tolerable but after 2 weeks of heavy gameplay sticks started jittering it gets worse by usage the temporary fix I did was rotating clockwise and counterclockwise for 15 mins that's just a small fix my cousin have the same controller so he uses isopropyl alcohol it just calmed the jittering for a week but still it's not permanant fix , I think it's theri marketing strategy to buy new stick modules the cause of jittering is because of the carbon inside the potentiometer it creates carbon dust when we use it . And also they uses a cheap board we bought a pair of cnk potentiometer and tried to solder but the professional here said it's a cheap board and it might not work properly

This was my goto controller prior to getting the Gamesir g7 se, the only issue I had was a real lack of quality control on the stick modules. I had the previous generation eswap x and i have bought the light up modules pack so I have a lot of the stick modules. The modules have different colour collars and different id numbers and some are definitely superior to others. The return process was so cumbersome that it was not really worth the effort (had to make a video of me using the controller in front of a calibration webpage to show the aberrant behaviour.

That’s definitely the big worry with this controller, specially no calibration option for the sticks will force people to buy an extra module.
