Great vid! I am allergic to cats also, as well as several other things like pollen and dust mites. The first time I adopted a cat, I was an adult. I washed my cat every month for about a year. I think this helped me to develop a tolerance to her and to cats in general. Now, my cats only cause an allergic reaction when there's another allergen going on, like pollen season. So like you said, the impact is cumulative. BTW, an allergist once told me I needed to get rid of my cats. Instead, I got rid of that allergist, LOL!
Cats tend to love people who have allergies to them for whatever reason (maybe the associated increased heat is alluring?), but i do find it pleasing that Melo found way to give in to her calling and be with cats, its clear as day all involved are at least content with the situation.
From what I understand, people with allergies tend to shy away from a cat. Inadvertently, this invites the cat in because ignoring them is good cat “manners”. They feel safe getting closer to investigate this person.
i was allergic to cats - but i inherited one unexpectedly. we gave him "lion" haircuts to keep his fur really short and that helped a lot but wasn't perfect. i would still get red skin if he touched me (and sneezing) but the lion haircuts over time (about a year) made my allergies completely disappear. i had him with a full coat for years after that and no issues. you're body can learn it is overreacting
I'm getting 2 kittens for the first time and have already gotten the air purifiers and the special food that reduces the allergen in their saliva, just gotta see the doc for medicine! Thanks for the helpful video!
@boadicea24 We've had them for a while now, long enough that they've healed from being fixed! Sof Sr it's working great! Usually I can't be around a cat for more than a fee minutes without severe allergies but with eh purifiers and the allergy food they eat ill only get some minor itching in my throat or ears every couple of days for short periods! And Dave like to nuzzle attack Mt face all day!
I could leave a grilled chicken in the kitchen. One of them eats in the kitchen on the Floor. But never stand on the legs and look on the "arbeitsfläche"(sorry, German). Respect. Everytime i eat something and it's possible to give them a little bit i'm doing this. When i want it they are kissing me without food.
suffering from cat allergic right now. really need to now how long will it take to overcome the allergic.i live with one cat everyday and cannot leave it. 😮💨
Hi, I bought a kitten for some joy in my life but straightaway I got some allergy like symptoms - runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes. I bought hepa vacuum and air purifier which seem to help a little but... When I touch him or he scatches me I develop blisters on my skin. Will I ever overcome this? Is it dangerous? I am on a lot of medications already so taking antihistamines is not an option for me. Thank you
Wash your hands after you touch you cat and before touching your face, brush your cat and trim their nails regularly, I recommend actually trying to sleep and snuggle w them, you will overcome it in time. Cat allergies aren't dangerous, if anything I never heard of people dying from it. It's uncomfy but I overcome it as well. Have you considered immunotherapy? I recommend you look into it. If you're in the states go find wyndly, tell them I sent you over~ They are effective and really affordable like 100 usd a year
😼 Little Devils Queen😍 my one little devil the one in the green Box😜 loves to sleep in my arm. And i hate to ly on the Back.. next time, when i think about, i'll take a video. I love your home, but, cats over one year, do they use it?
There is a remedy for that with very promising results. I did an interview with a company called Wyndly, check out the video. Thanks for being a sweet parent to your cats! ruclips.net/video/xPTUAps5olc/видео.htmlsi=nneH45mFs6xP-4tY
I e-mailed this vid to my daughter who just found out she is allergic to her cat and just can't bear to bring him back to the shelter. She said she worries he'll think he's not loved if she doesn't that.
There's a company called wyndly that helps people rod allergies easy and fast - look them up. There's no need for her to give her cat up for that. ruclips.net/video/xPTUAps5olc/видео.htmlsi=y3XazrGUJKCZtNky
There is some I owned a mix Maine coon my daughter never reacting from her but I get a ragdoll siamese mix siamese kitten and she reacts too bad but I read that Siamese are hypoallergenic cats .
I've always had some allergic reaction to animals and pollen, but not too bad so I can just ignore it. Just do some small adjustments like not sleeping w cats all night. But now that I started TNR and housing multiple cats in my home for recovery... I now get skin allergic reactions to cats. Me and my brother got it, and looks the same atopic eczema. These are streetcats, so really dirty kids. 😅 After we cleanup our own street cats, that would be the end of mass tnr for us
Actually sleeping w mine over time helped w it!! Please watch my other videos on getting rid of cart allergies: ruclips.net/video/xPTUAps5olc/видео.htmlsi=_kK348meVI7208AP
Doesn't seem to be making any difference after two applications. How often should it be applied, how much should we be using for a cat approximately, and how wet should the pet be after? This doesn't feel like a solution though sadly.@@allerpet-demite
@@chickenmuffin For many people, Allerpet is enough (see our product reviews) but there are levels of sensitivity and if your daughter is severe it may take additional steps. Here are a couple of things that are known to be helpful: Give your daughter a safe zone in her bedroom. Do not let the cat in there and never let the cat sleep with her. Purchase and run a HEPA air cleaner in her room and let it run 24/7. If you know she has other sensitivities (like to dust mite waste), be sure to encase her mattress, box spring and pillows with zippered covers that use barrier fabric. Consider using a better furnace filter with a higher MERV rating and a vacuum cleaner that does a good job capturing animal dander. What you’re trying to do here is give your daughter 8 or 9 hours of clean air as she sleeps. Having said all that, you can use Allerpet twice a week. Generously moisten a microfiber towel (best) or washcolth with the product and rub the coat both with and against the lay of the fur, which should be damp to the touch after use.

Why can’t they breed a nonallergenic cat? There are already variations that breeders could select on.
I don't think it works that way...

There are some breeds that produce less of the protein, but it's not 100%.
Siberian’s, Bengals…

Great video. Are you familar with our Allerpet Dander Remover product? Many people have had great success with it as it removes fel d1 from the fur.
I will check it out, interesting stuff thanks!
