in recent titles they have the length of the line depend on the button strength you use. "tatsumaki" for light, "tatsumaki senpu" for medium, and "tatsumaki senpykyaku" for heavy. I assume this is done so players have more information provided to them via audio
It was mostly in SF4 (and what they turned out into in EX series - except for specials) that they lost the whole line and I missed it, too, back in the day. In later games they brought it back in parts that could fit the attack's duration.
Of all the mainline entry, I like SF3 animation the most due to the distinct arc. SF4 has a slight arc as well....but nearly all the other entry has the tatsu traveling straight across the screen. To me, that always seemed weird because gravity would naturally pull the Ryu down towards the ground again, like it does in SF3. I forget if Ryu's tatsu in SF3 goes over fireballs or not.
I know it’s called tatsumami senpu kyaku, but in sf2 it always sounds to me like he and Ken are saying “hassosetsuken!” Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong
@@wew123tttt I'm thinking it doesn't look like they're actually flying through the air. It looks like they're suspended and dragged with wires. They made it a little too low. It almost looks like they're ballet dancing

In SFEX, you're meant to do the qcb kick motion three times, not just once.
The pronunciation is: tats mak senpuu kyak!!
Or: A Tek Tek Tu Ke
1:28 Guile’s theme just could NOT be topped in this game 🥲
Guile/Allen theme
strange sunset is one of the best compositions in the history of videogames man, lol
Never understand why in later games the movement lost the senpukyaku line. Some times its called only Tatsumaki.
They do both. Sometimes Ryu says the full thing, sometimes he only says Tatsumaki; both are shown in the SF6 part of this video

He said it Street fighter 5

How come you didn't do the full Tatsu on the EX games though?

Shinku Tatsumaki Shippu kyaku
The Alpha 3 Tatsu is my favorite. It could land up to 3 hits & it could slip past projectiles.
Now watch the 'Street Fighter: Red Tape' parodies. Mark Paul Gosseller was on point with how Ryu sounded in SF2 and have you dying of laughter.
In SF6 you didn’t do the OD Version of the tastu
0:14 the best ever🥊

It's because he spins in the opposite direction. Look at SFV vs SF6, his leg hits the opponent from the front in V and from the back in 6
