It's interesting. In Smash Ultimate, they made Ken's Final Smashed resemble his Hyper Combos from the vs. games. Yet Ryu's Final Smashes are more based off of his supers from the original series.
Ryu's character was partly inspired by a real Korean-Japanese fighter named Mas Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate. There's a great Korean martial arts movie about him called, Fighter in the Wind (2004). Highly recommend.
Many times throughout the video I wanted to see the Hadouken projectile, willing to check which versions kept Ryu's hands inside it, but it was done too close to the opponent and I couldn't.

The MVC3 one is the best in my opinion. I think in the Street Fighter Alpha movie, he did that kind of huge Shinku Hadouken as well.
Wow, I just realized that the portable version of SNK vs Capcom has Ryu doing his SF3 style fireball, with the back of his shirt blasting out from the force of his Hadouken (and doesn't really show up in any other game).

Ryu in the beginning was definitely arrogant. It wasn't until he met and was defeated by Ken that he started to mellow out and started being humble.

Dead or Alive 5's Power Blows have the same concept
Zangief's was particularly potent. Holding his 360+K gave you 1 hit of armour and you could let go and he would command grab the next frame.
