    Great video, I bought the LM3 as my first machine, got a hell of a discount on it and I love it, it worked wonderfully for a month, then I set it to the side to focus on school and get settled into my full time job, now coming back to it around a month or 2 later, I have run into an issue with my USB port, the plastic piece somehow went missing, but all of the pins are still there and functioning. This allowed me to set up wifi with lightburn and it connected no problem, GREAT! I opened a ticket with support and almost immediately got a response and they're shipping me a new motherboard, even better! I go to start a new burn and I get power supply issues, not great. All in all I'm happy with what I got, but I can see why someone would be upset/frustrated. I'm very thankful that customer support is so good, they could have easily not warrantied the motherboard and I would have had to fix it myself.
    To anyone looking to buy an LM3, I can't speak for other lasers, but the LM3 is wonderful when it works. When it doesn't, customer service is top notch!

    Mine made the clicking noise and I found that the belt on the homing side was not in the slot. Guessing it was too loose because of that.
    Wondering where you found the cross file?

    I've had nothing but problems with the customer support. So frustrating. I broke the guard over the laser and it's been like pulling teeth trying to get a new one...and from day one I haven't been able to cut any MDF.

      The customer service WAS really great before. But they seem to have gone downhill over time. They just seem to be falling further behind the pack. I hope that changes.

    you use the laser outside? how cold do you get? i also had a problem with the power supply. i had to warm it up to get it to work. it was very cold in my workshop.

    • @ValleyForged
      @ValleyForged  Год назад

      It is California, so it rarely gets below 45-50F. I do have an upgraded power supply (they sent me) which has not failed me yet. But the belts seem to need to be warmer to work properly. I just deal with it the best I can for now

      I had terrible problems getting the LM3 going. Once I got it to do one burn then it would be ok for all subsequent cuts that day. Finally found out it was low temperature. 7 degrees centigrade is the magic figure here. Below this and it will likely not start buring first time. 7 & above all is good...

    Hi Valley Forged, tell me what was the problem with the power supply? I use my OLM3 yesterday, normally everything works fine the day after, it just doesn't work... the power supply has the blue light on, but it doesn't work, yours also have the light ON on the power supply´.
    Thanks

      Hmmm, I have forgotten exactly. But when I told Ortur they said that was the problem and they sent me a larger one. It has worked fine since.

    your video is interesting. I have a problem with the ORTUR 3. It worked for a while, now the frame starts without a laser, halfway through the frame the laser turns on and then turns off towards the end. If I start the engraving, the laser doesn't turn on.. Seeing your video, I thought it could be the power supply, I just can't find where to buy it (I'm writing from Italy). On which assistance site did you write to have the new power supply sent to you? Do you think it could be a power supply issue? Thank you

    Its a problem with your wood for cut outs. Plywood is inconsistent in the manufacturing process. My air assist port works fine. I have a hose running from a shop ac. No dirty lens.

    • @ValleyForged
      @ValleyForged  Год назад

      Been cutting with lasers for many years. Somehow my other lasers don't have so many 'inconsistent' areas. That is fine for a hobby laser, but not for any serious use. I will show you the difference in how it works in a video soon. Glad it is working OK for you.
