After my unboxing, I through this monitor into the setup to review! If you are looking for a good new all-round-monitor, this might be the ticket, it's the world's first all in one! Easy mobile connection via wireless DeX, Tap View and mirroring, with one-touch entertainment with apps such as Netflix, RUclips, and HBO. You have a remote controller and built-in speaker as well which is handy! Remote Access and Office 365 which lets you work from anywhere and it has UHD 4K resolution for work and play! Other features include, adaptive picture which detects surrounding light with a sensor and adjusts brightness automatically, and software that allows you to go from 16:9 to 21:9 if you want that Ultra-Wide look! One potential downside is it is capped at a maximum refresh rate of 60hz refresh rate, so if you are into your high refresh rate gaming titles, this might not be the best option.

The TV screen behind u is amazing, I had to rewind and check as i thought that is a real window
I bought one a couple of weeks ago. Mainly for programming. I was aware that this monitor have a TN-panel but thought that it might not be as bad as TN-panels was before. I have a IPS on my ASUS laptop and on my LG 27GL83A-B monitor. Both are a lot better screens when it comes to colors, brightness and sharpness. But for the money I really like this Samsung monitor. 4K is really great when working or in my case, studying from home.
It’s not tn, it’s va which is better than tn but worse than ips

Really like the beach animated frame in the background. You have this frame in most of your videos. Does anyone know where one can get a frame like that ?
I absolutely LOVE this idea but a few things
1: I already have a Sony 4k Bravia 55in android tv for my media consumption sitting to the side of my PC far enough to keep my eyes safe, close enough to not be forced to turn my head much. So it's smart features while awesome serve me no personal purpose beyond simply having them.
2: The simple fact that it's capped at 60hz annoys me because for the price this looks like an awesome viewing experience overall, but i'm exclusively a PC gamer these days, so I'm looking to upgrade my monitor, not in smart features, but in gaming features. So I'm saving up for yes, a samsung monitor, but not this one because I don't want to keep my refresh rate at 60.

Awesome kit! That's what all displays ought to be. Not a TV not a computer screen.....but an all device for displaying all types of video media in a single unit. Magic!

Seems like a really good second monitor to go alongside a gaming focused monitor but the lack of conventional audio out is a shame.

Thinking of this unit as a streaming tv and hooking up a 4K blu ray player to it to upgrade from my current 720p Samsung in the bedroom…it seems this would be a cheaper alternative….I would use the web browser for content as well….does any one know how well this would perform vs a $500 4K tv?…As stated this is only for a small bedroom not my main entertainment center
The only thing putting me off buying this monitor is the noticeable gradient on the screen for blacks, colours look a bit washed out also. Has everything I want a monitor to do except a headphone/optical output, the lack of this is very off putting but it does have Bluetooth so you can connect to a Bluethooth DAC but it would depend on how reliable the DAC is. A monitor needs a remote imo, they definitely need to have built in apps also but not a major deal breaker as a firestick will give that functionality. No audio out is a big deal breaker for this monitor.

I really like this idea, was looking around for a solution to combo a small monitor and TV content. Any idea how it does with content/video editing?
Don't have personal experience using it in such a way, but I feel it would be limited. This is a VA panel, not IPS. The colors take some tweaking in the settings to get them where I wanted, and the dynamic range is ok, not great. The panel is quite dim also. This is a good all around budget friendly display, but if you want something that is really good for content creation or editing, you can do better.

You mentioned Samsung could have done better and I agree, 250nits and 60hz doesn't cut it for me, however here in Canada the monitor is inexpensive and may suit some people. I'll wait for the next generation - Samsung engineers surely can do better.

Bought this monitor at Best Buy here in Toronto, Canada area. Worked great for three days and then went to use it and the screen did not turn on. In a dark room you could see that screen was trying to turn on but was unsuccessful. My region was currently under lockdown so I couldn't return/exchange it, so I called Samsung to do a warranty repair. Shipped out the unit and waited about 9 days for it to return. Got it back, set it up and within 5 minutes the screen issue happened again. Once again, packed up the monitor and sent it back to Samsung warranty repair centre. It's been about 11 days and I'm still waiting for the monitor to come back. Really wanted to like this monitor as it has features I haven't seen before but this is really unacceptable. My best bet is when I get this monitor back and if it still doesn't work, taking it back to Best Buy and seeing if I can get a unit that was manufactured at later date to see if they fixed the issue on the assembly line. At this point I would say buyer's beware.

Low Brightness, low refresh and no HDMI 2.1 nor DP?
Just an FYI on the negative side. I own this monitor. You can't raise it or lower it and connecting a Macbook Pro through USB causes it to skip back and forth, sometimes I have to turn it off and on and disconnect the cable. Hopefully, Samsung can fix this through a software update. Also airplay is limited to 1080P. No surprise there though right.

@@DJ-lp6bh no I also sold this and purchased the Apple Studio display to use with both windows and MacBooks. It has major issues in the world of windows with brightness adjustments.

If use the USB connection will it charge a laptop. Also is there any audio out or do you have to use HDMI? Strange also that there is no Display port input.
Yes it does charge laptop. 65w output.

How do you connect this to an external speaker set? Other than bluetooth.
The HDMI arc port and Bluetooth are the only audio out options. There's no aux port. The built in speakers are decent though, I wouldn't bother with desktop speakers unless you're looking at a really substantial audio upgrade.
Samsung need to change it up in the design department. A monitor I owned back in 2014 looks exactly the same, just gloss black, not matte like this one!
I love the idea of an all-in-one monitor because I spend so much more time than I used to in front of it for work and I have plans to set up my PS4 with it as well since it will eventually be replaced by the PS5 when I can get my hands on one. I'm not sure I want to spend close to $400 though so I'll wait for the price to drop. Another great video - well done. 👍

Although you said it's part smart tv, I've noticed it doesn't have ethernet, so does it just go over wi-fi? What is that like streaming 4K via, for eg, Netflix? I've been looking for a second monitor just to stream crap on in the background while in doing other stuff on my main.

I've seen a few other reviews where units have died after only a few hours or don't even boot - have you experienced any of these yourself/know people who have?
There are definitely production line quality control issues. Plenty of mixed reports. I was hesitant but chose to roll the dice and fall back on the warranty if I had to. I got lucky, more than a month now and no issues at all. Shame it's so risky though.

Crazy to have a monitor like this which cannot be adjusted for height. Bad mistake. It means you need to buy a VESA mount.

when you press the voice button or in settings for voice assistant. Pretty easy though
How's the airplay connectivity?
AirPlay is built in. The gist of it… monitor needs to be setup on same wifi as your Mac. Go to Display settings on the Mac, select Samsung M7, then type in 4-digit pairing code shown on monitor into your Mac. Allows dual external monitor setup (one USB-c + one AirPlay) with new M1 MacBooks or 3 monitors for intel MacBook with only 2 USB-c ports.
Even though it might be useful when it doesn't have a PC or console connected to it, I really wouldn't use a monitor that way, so the smart part of it is kinda pointless (at least to me) I guess.

It's decent-good. Depends on your personal standards. Keep in mind this is a budget conscious all-around monitor-tv hybrid. You get what you pay for. Decent-good. If you want better there are plenty of more expensive options.

It’s ok. Kinda like an hp 27er. But dimly lit houses or rooms it’s great. Super bright places. Not so good but doable. I just bought it an hour and a half ago! Best 400$ I’ve spent. This year

Short answer yes. I have my Nintendo Switch and some older consoles connected to it, and they look great. However it maxes out at 60hz, so if you're looking at high refresh rate PC gaming or to get the most out of your PS5 then this isn't the monitor for that.
I watched a video and it was a reliable guy and he got the monitor 2 months ago and said the whole monitor just turned off and broke after two hours of using it did this happen to you or had they fixed it

just make sure your pc can handle 4k i made the mistake just leeping in buying it then finding out im getting 30fps on a console that is perfectly fine but if your gaming on pc it is horrendous i had to down scale it to 1080p which its hard to descibe it but its a slight difference than if you was playing on a 1080p monitor it was a slight blur not really noticble unless your looking out for it and might look perfectly fine for some but for me once i seen it i coundnt unsee it ive since upgraded my gpu and runs a full 4k now but money isnt really an issue for me so it was fine but for thoughs where money isnt easy to come by just upgrade your gpu first so it can run 4k before you go for the upgraded monitor

I seriously want to purchase this Monitor, but have read some reviews complaining about device not powering up, screen being slightly blurred and software issues, amongst other problems. Ideally I would be using the M7 for work related stuff, linking my Samsung S7 Plus Tab and S20 Ultra phone and maybe abit of gaming with the Nintendo Switch. Anyone got some advice please? Thanks!
I was also hesitant when I made my purchase. The early reviews were not encouraging. It comes with limited warranty though, so I decided to keep my receipt and roll the dice. Worked out fine for me. Had mine over a month now and no issues. Others definitely have though but they seem to happen early on based on those reports. It's a shame the assembly line is having such issues.
@@dobbynsean I've actually purchased the Monitor myself now and I have to admit, I'm pretty pleased with it. Have used it on a daily basis and haven't encountered any problems so far!

No there is no TV tuner.
My personal take on this monitor is that the brightness is a bit average and is not suited to designers despite being HDR supporting. The smart features are nice but I’d rather they ditch those and give us a couple hundred bits of brightness for the money…

Without a DisplayPort it’s more of a media monitor than a computer monitor.

The brightness isn't great, about 250 nits. Depends on where your setup is. Mine is being used in a den with no windows, so the brightness is adequate. If you place this in a room with big windows, you're going to notice a big difference.

For wireless display, it only works i lf go to screen sharing in the remote accessoires menu....But i saw the samsung video commercials, they seem to be able to launch wireless connexion and find the M7 monitor from any menu and dont need to activate screen sharing!
