it's incredibly validating to know this game had shitty controls and my inability to ever finish this game as a kid wasnt (entirely) due to being, y'know, 6.

not to brag or anything but i finished this game at the same age
I could finish the game within two hours. I know that because as a child I only could sit at the PC for two hours a day. And I usually played few more of the mini games afterwards... (but like I was 8 or so when I first got the game so..)
My sister got this game at 6. And me as a 12 year old hated it because she expected me to just finish it for her and was confused when I kept insta dieing too.

Only a handful of movies are about the life of Barbie the actress herself. Confusing that a fictional character is starring as other fictional characters in separate films? Yes, yes it is.

I have such vague memories of this game (for example: all I remember from the disk is that it was completely pink) and I think watching a grown man play it while making jokes about murder and drugs and just over all get frustrated the same way I did was simultaneously the best and worst way to have it renter my life. Also, I somehow still remember the reason I stopped playing the game in the first place; 5 or something year old me was too fucking stupid to understand how the game with the cat and the apples worked and I just kinda quit

Oh god. I used to love this game when I was little. This was the first game I stayed up until 12:00 am playing. I beat it twice when I was little. I'm sure it's much easier now, but I was so proud of myself when I did.
When I was a child that was basically the only thing I would play for the whole day, english isn't my first language so all I could undertsand is that Barbie was in some florest talking some alien lenguague ,it took me 2 monts so I could get out of that florest an than my game just restarted, after doing the same thing over again I get to that weird tample and would just walk around trying to get out of that fase and than my game crashed, that was how I lost 1 year of my childhood playing a Barbie game and not even gething close to finish. Now I'm seeing Kevin playing that same game

I had this same experience with PS1 Harry Potter XD I never finished the game because I had such a hard time playing it, and it was hilarious to watch Kevin go through the same shit. In the Barbie extended universe there are multiple different realities, each with their own Barbie.
That is how in one universe she is a magical fairy princess and in another a secret spy agent.
I am currently still waiting for barbies own "into the Barbie-verse" film.
(Honestly though, it is crazy how many occupations Barbie has already had that no one acknowledgedes. )

@@lexa2310 Oh no no, in BCU (Barbie cinematic universe) Barbie is a movie actor as seen in Barbie: a Fashion fairytale and in Barbie: Fairy secret (those two movies are connected) that has been in the roles of these other barbie charactes. In Barbie : a Fashion fairytale you can see movies poster that ARE the other barbie movies.
So in conculusion: Barbie is a big movie star in BCU.

I still play the games occasionally, this one, Barbie Horse, and Secret Agent Barbie. I'm sure it's purely nostalgia but I still really enjoy playing them once every few years
