Came here after hearing this on True Detective. Amazing sound.
Erik Krasno and Larry Campbell supporting JIM JAMES!!!
I love that Jim is using his Epiphone signature ES-335 for these jams. He is like no other voice or vibe.

awesome rocketman! woooo!!!!
I was there last night. Jim James set the standard for the night (Haunting, haunting performance) and St. Vincent knocked Bowie's Young Americans out of the park. However, not all performers played up to that bar, primarily around song choice. Sheryl Crowe comes to mind. She opened with "If it makes you happy" (great. crowd on their feet), then play a Stones tune from, oh, 1995. My point exactly. The crowd was sitting down by the time she was done. But, time and time again it was the backup band that just stood out. I knew as I listened that this group was a once-in-a-time moment and they played and sounded like it. A special time. Also, what a buzz kill to listen to the CEO speak for almost as long as James was on. The telethon aspect of it (How many actresses do we need to ask us if we are having a good time, and to tell us what an amazing band, etc etc) and Chevy Chase playing amateur jazz piano piece pushed this thing past 4.5 hours long. Anyways, it was no Last Waltz, but it was the closest thing I'll ever get to see the best rock musicians under one roof. We left before the finale of Jeff Bech's "People Get Ready", again, there are 5 Beck tunes that are better than that. Oh, Warren Haynes paid tribute to David Crosby and played "Almost Cut My Hair", and said the last time he saw Croxby alive they played that song on the same stage. Anyway, I'm still processing what I experienced as I had only an inkling of what I was walking into.
Love this
hey hey hey hey!
Somebody needs to send this to the Unabomber
💙
That there vowel song is kinda pretty ok.. Enjoy !
Is that Steve Gadd drumming?
Will Lee on bass?
Setup is terrible lol he has to reach to the micrphone
I'm sure he knows how to work a mic stand. Probably prefers it this way, as many singers do, because it opens up the air passageway.
