Last year was us being first time home buyers and planning a wedding/getting married. God gave his toughest battles to his weakest soldiers. 😂 lived so many of these conversations
Even though this is a joke, between this video and the video Nikki Howard posted yesterday spoofing Big Short, more people should watch this kind of stuff to know just what they are getting themselves into when it comes to home ownership
LOL! I remember sitting with our accountant, doing taxes, and when the mortgage information came up, I was shocked that it looked like we hadn't been paying our mortgage for the year. The number had barely gone down. I was giving my husband a "look" like what is going on? Have you not been paying the mortgage? LOL Enjoy the short amount of time you have before you have to replace the roof, hot water heater, HVAC...LOL We are close to owning our home and I have NO plans to buy another. We're here until the end! LOL
The title company person was so relieved when when we came to the amort schedule and I named it before she could. She said a lot of people get upset and think somethings wrong. Glad I used to at a bank...
I love the idea that the Dad would be able to come over in an hour to look at the house. Yah, no, you have about 30 minutes to look at the place before the next showing is happening. Alas.
I didn't learn what it meant when appliances convey until my second home. My realtor didn't even really know when we asked. Also, a 30-year mortgage is a huge ripoff. The difference in monthly payments is usually only a couple hundred bucks, and you end up saving yourself over $100K in the length of the mortgage just on interest alone. Refinancing is also a scam because you have to redo closing costs again. If you have parents willing to help, ask them. They've been around the block a few times, and can help you understand what's going on so you don't do something really stupid.
Yeah viewed the house and loved the floors. When moved in. Realized the owners took up the flooring in the front room through hall and master bedroom. Never have enough money to get new flooring….. Midwesterners love appliances that come with the house. I have only replaced the dishwasher and that only lasted 5 years… I really want to protest the house’ value from the assessor
Just wait until your "fixed" mortgage goes up because they increase your escrow to account for property tax increases... To be honest I'd kill for $250K mortgage though.
Respectfully, that's pretty dang good. I assume you're throwing an extra $200 - $350 a month towards your principal each month, but if you're not you might think about it. Ten percent of your yearly mortgage or one extra payment a year can bring that loan term and total interest cost way way down.
Vote republican or not, you’re still going to pay 1.8. Million for a 330k house, just facts. Best bet, pay it off as quickly as you can, as long as there’s no penalty for that. Good luck😊
"Is this Escrow's fault? I hate that guy!" LOL 🤣
Jake looking like an 80's detective with that stache!
It ages him too
No to the stash. 👎
More like 80s porn star
Like Magnum, P.I. style of detective?
“My Dad’s coming to look at it.” 😂 As it should be!
Dads are the best!
I thought my Dad did that because I'm a single woman, guess not
Did an actual spit take when he said I paid 300k for this house but it’s going to cost me 1.2 million 😂
30 year mortgage?! But I'm only 28!
Inspectigator 😂😂
Love this video because it’s so accurate! All the escrow jokes! 👏🏻🤣
That 240k looks mighty fine now. But yeah, screw S. Crow. Hate that guy.
😂
the way this is SOOOOO accurate y'alll spot on.
Closing costs are hard to grasp your first time.
Last year was us being first time home buyers and planning a wedding/getting married. God gave his toughest battles to his weakest soldiers. 😂 lived so many of these conversations
The stache makes this video better haha
Well…I learned something new today. Had to watch a separate video to learn what “convey” means. Thanks for making me learn today!
Yeah, I had to look it up in the dictionary.
Had to look that up too.
probably because they used it so many times in like 15 seconds that it stopped sounding like a real word LOL
Always trying to knock out walls 😂
I've purchased 3 houses, and still don't have a clue what I'm doing.
Same!
totally accurate portrayal!
Those amortization tables are depressing to look at
Even though this is a joke, between this video and the video Nikki Howard posted yesterday spoofing Big Short, more people should watch this kind of stuff to know just what they are getting themselves into when it comes to home ownership
So painfully accurate 😂

knowledge of HGTV shows is impressive
"this is my first escrow, I think" LOL
Remember your mortgage is a loan, not rent. Pay more than your monthly minimum towards your house to actually make a difference.
yes, exactly!
Put it towards your principal!
The title company person was so relieved when when we came to the amort schedule and I named it before she could. She said a lot of people get upset and think somethings wrong. Glad I used to at a bank...
I am buying my first house soon. Thank you for making me more nervous!
*laughs in real estate agent*
Wow the thumbnail made me laugh! 🤣

I don’t think I can get used to the stache Jake 😂
He looks much better without it.

Can confirm that it is exactly how it feels. We just bought a house a couple months ago... rates and housing prices are insane!

Inspecta-gator is awesome.
You'll own nothing and be happy. 😃
LOVE how he whispers "I can vote Republican" towards the end, when he realizes how much more money he will actually have to spend!
Legitimately he sounds like my aunt and uncle
Omg. Having not bought a home yet.... I feel this in my bones!!

I really agree with the confusion over escrow 😂😂😂 I honestly just signed the papers and tried not to think about it too much lol
This is so funny; one of your best videos.
only $240,000? lucky
100% accurate
😂 I’m dying!
Listen! That thing above his lip is terrible! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wait til your property tax goes up and your insurance triples. Then you’ll want to put out a hit on S. Crowe.
Just wait until your "fixed" mortgage goes up because they increase your escrow to account for property tax increases...
To be honest I'd kill for $250K mortgage though.
good stuff
You’d think after 6 months of being a homeowner he’d have gray hair and a beard.
Literally just told my kids we will be eating a lot of ramen as we close on our home next week. 😅
me 30 years ago. LOL
Wow... No!
Maybe balance it out with a full goatee?
Hilarious
Comment for the algorithm!
Anybody hungry for some ramen?
