Ant-Man 4 isn't cancelled it's never been greenlit
I've seen major discounts with Bandai's S.H.Figuarts Eternals action figures and still... nobody wants them. Plus Bandai hasn't even completed the team... doesn't look like it will happen now.
Apparently Kevin Fiege still want to make the film so hopefully after secret wars I really want a sequel
If Captain America Brave New World and the Thunderbolts will address the lingering threat of Tiamut's remains and the Fantastic Four could continue the tread of the Celestials as Galactus will be the main antagonist, there's no reason to ever see or mention the Eternals ever again. If Moon Knight is going to get a second season, then you could throw Black Knight in there to further set up the Midnight Sons after the Blade film. And you could just put Eros in anywhere as he just shows up then leaves quite frequently in the comics.
There’s a possibility the sequel could end up as an animated special exclusive on Disney +.
I get it from a business aspect it just sucks to introduce new characters and leave them in limbo. I just wish we could get the same out from their counterpart comic books with multiple stories and flushing out character arcs from beginning to end. This sucks. I hope they do something especially with the Celestial in the ocean is too hard to ignore and I want to see black knight and blade happen. Have black knight a Disney+ limited series and then sprinkled throughout other projects. Blade needs to have his movies to lead into midnight suns (a supernatural avengers type movie)
I'm still hoping for Eternals: Judgement Day. Let us wait to see the X- Men and Avengers 5 & Secret Wars in the MCU before we say there won't be another Eternals movie. Not every movie is going to be a billion dollar movie.

Honestly kinda sad, Eternals could've been such an amazing ancient MCU franchise if they had stepped back and thought about things properly

I liked this film. Never knew they were a thing before this film. I don't read comics. I just know the films and this is one of my favorites in the MCU. After phase 3 this is one of the better films.
I felt the same way. Eternals to date is Marvel's best film produced in my opinion. Marvel dropped the ball big time with marketing this film and making matters worse it came out during the pandemic. 10 characters that only avid comic book readers would know about. A director with an ambitious vision, coupled with a massive budget meant this movie had to be a blockbuster at the box office and it just wasn't. Having said that this movie passed the bar of great Hollywood film making. The people that didn't like it imo didn't understand what it was about and how it fits in the MCU. To be fair to some of them that's all on Marvel and not them.

You still have to bring these characters in for secret wars, especially with several of them being heavy hitters.
I at least wanted to see the eternal Zuras in a sequal as well as more Areshim and the other celestials be an important plot point but damn.

This is very reactionary if true. I was neutral on Eternals but would have given them a second chance.
Could there be a chance that the Eternals will return in other Marvel movies?
SOME of the characters are Good, just like the comics, but aren't good enough to support on their own. Such characters can enhance other properties ( Thor, Guardians) well but don't need too much time on their own.
Hoenstly, i really liked it. I was hoping to see a sequel that acts as a rehaul, with new more colorful kirby designs for the caharcters. The colors of Thor Ragnarok, with the storytelling of Zhao.

Marvel needs to stop playing! Give the fans what they want, X-Men versus the avengers. Exclamation, this will be an awesome storylines particularly if you have it where the scrolls are acting as one or the other causing division and strife amongst the two. Great plot and a lot of potential storylines that could develop.
Why have X-men vs Avengers only? The comics exist and directly included the Eternals.
That means we’re not gonna see the Eternals ever again?

@@Luciferiandisciple1 more grown up than you, if you knew anything about writing you would know the many flaws and plot mistakes within the movie. There is no character growth, the villain is literally cell from dbz, and gets sidelined in the third act, it feels like a 2 1/2 movie with no importance or substance in thw film.

It’s for the best I guess. Marvel should just focus on the core members, the X-men, fantastic four, the new members of the guardians, some avengers, definitely spiderman( keep working on Peter’s story and introduce miles in live ), with the exception of shung chi, war machine, century, ( since he been around), blade, keep working on daredevil, Deadpool and moonnight. Rework Dr strange, Thor, and I guess any man to make them better.
That’s what you get for not respecting the source material.
I highly doubt they will do the same for machine man (cause Jack Kirby)

It's hard to cancel something if it was never planned on to start .With all the talk of an Eternal sequel sometimes references Eternals 2. If we examine what has been filed as a trademark with the European union Intellectual properties office only filing of Eternals in 2019 None of the filings in 2022 had the term Eternals connected to them. The only filing from 2022 that stands out is Celestial's End of time this seems like where the story line at the end of a Eternals would have picked up. The subtitle end of time also seems as if this retire into the multiverse saga as well Important note based of what we learned in Eternals the Celestials are proactive in keeping the universe alive so they and the Eternals still have a Substantial Roll to playing in the Multiverse saga. If the idea of the TVA going around collecting hero's for an upcoming battle to save the multiverse then Recruiting/Rescuing The Eternals especially after defying Arishem and after what they did to Tiamut it would make sense for the Eternals to be high on the TVAs list to Recruit. A stand-alone Celestial film or a Eternals sequel while convenient for stortelling reasons it is it necessary Eternals Celestials can be folded in to other films and most likely that's probably the plan going forward.
Fine with canceling with Eternals. Movie was not very good. It wasn’t horrible but it started the slide for me.
Atleast that was a risk. Enjoy getting Thor 5 to 10 then... same lame quirky script.

They were never really superheroes- they had a specific mission to fight the deviants, not super villains.

“ Success”that’s funny word in the entertainment industry. Alot of nut jobs think success goes in hand with terms like “modernized” or “artistic integrity” or even better “subversion of expectations”. But as we have seen this approach has not been a “success”.

Yeah! The Marvels did address all the issues with Captain Marvel, in addition to adding 4 times the baggage. WandaVision's side story + Ms Marvel's lukewarm reception + Secret Invasion's Trainwreck = an overburdened movie releasing in an incredibly disadvantageous date.
But yeah, it was the Director's fault.🙄
thank god cause honestly I didn't care about none of the character but makkari and druig who was the only two who had chemistry, the rest felt like coworkers and they had big name to this movie and it flop cause the write was bad and also kit harington was wasted in this movie, I know his character was the black knight, but his character should be either on movie that connect to his character like blade or he get his own tv how

The movie was very different from the other MCU projects, and it was divisive when it released. The mcu does not need to divisive movies rn I need to win the audience back and he needs a lot of bangers so it makes sense. This isn’t getting a sequel.
Oh what a shame and pity. Now we won't get to see richard madden is his skin tight uniform showing off his muscles. That was the only good thing about that movie.

No MCU adaptation was ever a perfect copy of the comics. Who gives a flying F about originality? All movies are loosely based off the comics. I love the Eternals as they are shown in the movie. We’ve also yet to see them in their full glory yet. You people need to learn patience.
