The fact that I can get luxury features for an economical price is astonishing! You can't even get ventilated seats, memory seats, ambient lighting, and a digital key card in a Corolla or Civic. This is why I'm driving a Hyundai now. My Elantra Limited is 5 years old and people are still amazed with the features I have, compares to the seas of Corollas and Civics. Definitely upgrading to this Hybrid Limited. And this is exactly what color exterior and interior I want!

Just bought a 2023 Elantra hybrid, and I love it. Electric motor gives peppy starts off the line, the DCT gives excellent shifting response, the independent rear suspension provides exceptional handling ability... and I'm getting 50 mpg driving around town. The electronics package is unbelievable. This is, truly, the best of all possible worlds. Best car I've ever owned.

Awesome review. One thing to say that the Smart mode isn't an "eco" mode. It's more of a mix between "normal" and "sport" together. It makes the car more responsive, but still save gas lol.
Also, I do agree with you about the DCT transmission. The new Prius got me really hook with the design, mpg, but there is just something about the Elantra that I may consider this instead. Hopefully I can see both in person to consider what is a better daily driver for me.

It's worth noting that the hybrid version will save its owner at least $50 per month in fuel savings when compared to a non hybrid Elantra. And that $50 really adds up; over the life of the vehicle, expect to save $10,000 or more. That's the difference between the cheapest Elantra and the most expensive, which means you can enjoy the most expensive trim Elantra Hybrid for free; your increase in car payments is offset by your fuel savings.

Me and service manager drove another Hybrid it had same issue. If your going to buy one check it out with cruise on. Oh, was wanting to trade due to the small jerking. My dealer offered me 7,000 dollars less than I paid. Only little over 1,000 miles and not a month old.

I doubt that hybrid is a smart buy, because it does not save money. The reason is the additional cost of buying a hybrid and the battery replacement makes the gas saving not very outstanding. For example the overal fuel economy of a gas and a bybrid vehicle is 6.7l/100km and 4.7l/100km repectively, so the difference is only 2L/100km or saving $3/100km. To buy a hybride elantra in Canada, you need to pay 2500+hst more than a gas one, which would be $2825. $2825/$3/100km=94,166.67km, which means you need to drive 94,166.67km to make the saving on gas equal to the additionl payment of $2825 for getting the hybride one. In other words, for every additional km beyond 94,166.67km, you just start to saving money. However, do not forget the battery do have a life of use, which is approximately 160,000km/100,000 miles. So (160,000km-94,166.67km)*$3/100km= $1,975, this amount is what you would save eventually for your first battery life cycle without caculating the time value or interests cost of the additional $2825. And if keep this car long term, you have to pay for the replacement of the battery which would be at least another $3000 or even much more, and if the replacement cost beyond $2825+$1975=$4800, you would actually lose money for purchasing the bybrid one. How do you guys think?

I own transportation companies. Over 45 years we have purchased several different types of vehicles. Last year we bought 20 Hyundai sonata hybrids. Out of the 20 , so far over half of them needed the hybrids battery pack’s replaced. Also a couple motors and transmissions.
These vehicles are proving to be the worst vehicles we purchased in over 45 years of business. We are still anticipating having a few more battery packs, transmissions and motors go out.
This is all happening right out of warranty. Run don’t walk from Hyundai Hybrids.

So your transportation company drove over 100k miles in a year on 20 cars and half of them are breaking? Probably more on your drivers than anything if that’s even true. I refuse to believe any company has a 50% failure rate right out of warranty that’s still in business. Should have just bought the cheapest non hybrid cars since the blues are 25k. Should have bought 20 versas at 19k (probably a fleet discount) and save 6k but I think you just wanted some tax credit and dont really care about anything else. Just my 2 cents.
