    I had no idea George was playing so much electric throughout the entire song until now, I could hear a few electric riffs in the second verse on the official upload but it's way more clear here! The little licks at 1:45, 2:07, and 3:24 are so great, it's a shame they weren't louder in the official mix!

      3:24 is actually Paul’s solo, it’s not George.

    I'm not sure George was on the track at all. I know Paul played the slide part and I don't think George's voice is on this track at all. The only part that may have been George was the acoustic guitar because there is video of him playing it to this song in the 1994 sessions. It's possible they used some of that.

      George's parts are indeed the acoustic, but also a rhythm electric that you can hear quite well : it does little funky bits through the track

      Yes exactly George played rhythm electric & acoustic on this then Paul McCartney completed the track w a pedal steel slide guitar solo in George’s style as a late late tribute to him as he didn’t get to add it as he quit the 95 sessions saying it was f****** rubbish

    The tape was noted by John as "for Paul."
    Much more of a tribute than a Beatles record. Jeff Lynne would have made sure it stayed a Beatles record. Paul should have listened to George's slide work before recording that "in the style" bit.

    • @martinanderson312
      @martinanderson312 9 месяцев назад +4

      I think Jeff Lynne would not necessarily have kept it a "Beatles" sounding record. His overmodulated sound was over the top on the 90s recordings of "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love", and on George's solo work and Traveling Wilburys work of that era, in my opinion. Too much of his "ELO sound"

      What are you talking about? George's style was understated and melodic, which is certainly the case for the Paul's slide tribute. I do think it needed to be brought up in the mix though - I have multiple problems with the mix overall.

      I have some bad news: you don't understand about Beatles' music (or any music at all). You barely know the difference between production and arrangement. It's incredibly stupid to expect new music from artists who have always been at the forefront to sound like something from the 1960s.

      The Beatles performed every genre known to man back in the 60’s, and even invented a couple new ones. They renewed themselves completely from album to album. There simply is no formula describing what they sound like, although a lot of people would probably think about Paul’s innovative bass lines, Ringo’s iconic fills and John’s piercing voice; all of which are featured in this song anyway.

    • @PC4USE1
      @PC4USE1 2 месяца назад +1

      Really,this is a possible way the Beatles would have sounded in the 2020s. Who knows what the group could have accomplished if they stayed together and John and George were still alive.
