A bit late to the party in so many ways.... I found this channel via the 'bunny hop' video a few weeks ago in an effort to improve my MTB riding. Last week, despite being the wrong side of 50, I bought a cheap trials bike on Ebay. It turns out that on my first ride I managed to learn one of Ali's tricks....Unfortunately it was the how to scrape your shin on the pedal trick.
It is difficult to deal with people that have the audacity to start their own rant in someone else's face. Sorry you had to deal with her. Next time it happens you don't have to be such a nice guy about it. Just ride off. It's not worth the brain time with people like that dude. Anyway I would say "Shin Pads" but I reckon your shins have probably become their own pads by now.
Kinda funny when a lot of pedestrians nowadays are glued to their phone screen, walk out into traffic and show no sign of spacial awareness whatsoever and us riding bikes on the pavement in a sensible-ish manner are the problem?. it's a funny world we live in.
Great work as usual Ali. Has there ever been talk of a 26" Arcade? I'd love a hex, but 26" steel would be sweet. @inspiredbicycles Limited frameset run?

I think the best way to deal with someone like that would be to explain that this is your profession and if you thought it would be too dangerous you wouldn't risk doing it as you wouldn't risk losing your income.
It's a tricky thing. I know a few drivers who are very skittish around uncommon situations. They'll react in the worst ways to seeing children playing close to the road just in case they suddenly jump in front of the car. Maybe she was just thinking she had witnessed something dangerous and wanted to confront you about it. The way she went about it does sound less than ideal though. So, what I'm saying is she's not necessarily a bad person, but just had an unfortunate reaction. Being polite and confident is always the way to go in those situations, so at least that's good.
love ur blogs. Just got back into some trials after 20 odd years. Maguras and a beast of the east back then. Just bought a bb7 and see you have them on new bike. Any tips on setting them up and ur thoughts on how they compair to hydraulics? cheers.

Had a fourplay for a good while and just didn't have enough space when on the back wheel, even with a 110 stem. I kinda want a hex but can't really afford the double disc version, wondering if the console or an old arcade would be a better fit than the fourplay? That wasn't a very quick question. ..

Haha now you know what it's like riding trials in Moscow - you get shouted at and even called the police on for absolutely no reason every other day! Hope your shin isn't too bad, not that you aren't used to this yet!

No matter how crazy she was as she had to be when she actually came shouting after you sat down again. So I understand the frustration but just no cool to put somebody on the internet against there will. :/
I hope for you this woman never will see this video ^^ Not sure how the juristic stuff is there on the island, but here in Germany it´s forbidden to film someone directly in the face without his permission (of course its another thing for people in the background, but you know what I mean), and publishing such footage, too, of course. Don´t wanna be a jura butthead, just wanted to inform you, cause such stuff can get really annoying (and expensive).
