Indeed, others said this already: The video title days A5, while you are actually reviewing an S5. And another thing you possibly did not understand. An S5 model has nothing to do with the S-line trim, although the S5 possibly comes standard in S-line trim (this I don't know for sure). My A5 for example has an S-line trim (super expensive option:), but the 1.8 TFSI engine. This doesn't make it an S5 and still is called A5.
I thought that until I test drove my BMW 4 series diesel 330. It's engineered so well that you can't hear the diesel rattle when the roof is down or windows open, they've done everything they can to silence it and it's quite impressive. Especially when you put your foot down and hear that brilliant engine sound.

Drive the S5 version then go out in the base model diesel and you'll find that it's a very different car but with similar body. The S5 stance is different to the base model, the interior is more sporty, more toys, it handles differently and performance is totally different, but apart from all that, yes it's the same! Lol.

Why is he saying theres no plastic in the interior when the whole middle console and the a pillar is made of plastic? But if mercedes builds the airvents for the rear passengers from plastic in the glc its the worst interior quality ever. This channel lost all its credibility to me

Diesel cars will soon be taxed and a scrapage scheme about to be introduced ... so thankfully and at last car reviewers won't recommend them as the preferred option! The planet, asthma sufferers and hayfever sufferers will rejoice. More seriously, recommending diesels all the time make very little sense if you think of it both logically and financially as most people don't do tens of thousands of miles and, even if you did drive that much, you don't do this mileage in a day! Hence, doing the calculation with today's fuel prices and without looking at future price estimates and using discounted cash flows makes no sense.
James Batchelor well there will be a policy to detract new buyers from buying diesel cars otherwise the scrappage scheme wouldn't make much sense of wouldn't be that effective. This will probably means revised taxation and increased tax on diesel fuel like in many other countries. Diesel is really bad, note that politicians start to understand what NOx does to human health, they are moving towards discouraging/banning them. And that is despite knowing about other chemicals found in diesel exhausts that scientists know about but this hasn't tickled down to the general public and is are not filtered by catalytic converters. And, on top of that you have a significant amount of free radicals reacting with whatever happens to be next to the car (free radicals are extremely reactive by nature as they need to pair their free electrons). Anyway gvt plan to be announced this week so we will see.

Obviously the companies want to send out the top spec model for review as it will be rated highest, but realistically people are going to buy the mid tier models, not the top of the range ones.

I will say to this, the TDI in the A5 is super quiet. Much quieter than the one in the Mercedes.
