The only thing wrong with this interview was that it was over too quickly ....I hr and twelve minutes wasn't long enough !!....Fascinating from start to finish..Oz is brilliant..!!..🎸🌟🎸
a very very bad cat, indeed. Monster chops aside, when u see oz live he works the pedalboard constantly adding spices even on one bar of a tune etc. really cool. badass.
True, saw him playing with Dennis and Jimmy last december and he is a real wizard, both guitarwise and working the pedalboard. truly one of the greatest gigs I went to recently! So good!!
This is interesting… beginning of the vid…. All you need is a tube screamer….. end of video….. there’s enough stuff to jump around for a week….. musicians are like mentally herding cats…. Impossible…. 😂😂
The way he describes going to NYC is so perfect. It was my experience the first 6 years and what I try to tell any artist/musician who wants to go there... and that they NEED to go there for at least a little while.
Yeah man. I have a similar story, but transformed into an orchestral composer. I’m no longer a drummer for a living but Elvin Jones is still an inspiration when it comes compose Star Wars action music ;)
What he said about overdrives is so true- and that's coming from someone who has 5 on his board as we speak. That's precisely how I came to believe what he was talking about- I bought a JHS switch back and compared my drives- they all sound very, very similar. The switch back allows you to swap between them with no pause, going into the same amp, same settings, etc. so you can really compare them- it's shocking how similar they all are. Imo this is why now, most overdrives come pre-voiced- they've got a baked in EQ curve- because otherwise, they all sound the same. Which means if you find a neutral one and get a good EQ pedal- you've got all the overdrives.
I absolutely love this Oz Interview ! Is it because I’ve lived in NYC since the 90’s and have bumped into Oz, seen his trio at The Bitter End, etc., Oz’s down to earth genius is always just so refreshing & inspiring …
OZ NOY@, This was the greatest tonal and melodic eye -opener👁 I have yet seen on Anderton's!- dynamite! I took notes! - the last time I did that was at a BILL FRISSELL concert@, OZ, here, takes a Bill Frissell Space Shuttle Launch, all the way to "Lunar Landing Module" touchdown! - Best, most interesting Anderton's presentation yet! Merci Beaucoup!
I love hearing Oz describe his music and how he approaches time signatures and tones! Just always enjoy his interviews and gear talk. Super interesting cat👏✔️💪
9:17 I met Oz at the Hiram Bullock tribute show in NYC, never knew who he was before but never forgot him after that night. Being able to see him in videos like these is incredible.
Such lovely playing. Listening, I couldn't help imagining a beautiful SciFi movie with Oz's trio as the entire soundtrack. Give him the edited film and let them play for 2 hours on top of it.
Lee, lucky for Andertons it wouldnt matter if every great guitarist said 3 pedals is OK because we are stupid when comes to gear. We all buy it and then sell it, repeat.
Unbelievable guitar player !!! Oz's harmonic sense , excellent feel , timing & phrasing makes him one of the top Fusion players in the world !!! I adore everything he plays ! So fluid without any stutters !!! Real master of the instrument !
Anyone interested in this mix of jazz rock and blues should check out Tobias Hoffman, he’s got over 500 videos on the Vintage Guitar Oldenburg channel, he’s a mind blowing guitarist but also very enjoyable to listen to
An Example - Listened to that, first part was great, 2nd part was as many notes in the wrong place as possible.... I think I am starting to understand jazz now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I discovered him a few years ago on Spotify, with the Schizophrenic album, and I was literally both shocked and amazed by his way of playing and using the effects. He is simply phenomenal! And he's a very humble and funny guy at the same time. He quickly became my point of reference on the guitar, I like him so much!
this was so cool. makes me feel like I want to go to NY! better save up! i can really relate to what your saying , i love it when i find Jazz versions of songs and i am really familiar with the orginal . like there was a jazz version of Hungry like the Wolf and it was so fun and suprisingly 'on' without any problem . Oz, thanks for the interveiw , really enjoyed it. very inspiring. i need pedals. God i miss my little Roland. pissant little toy compared to what you guys have but it had, flanger, chorous, delay, reverb, clean, jazz, and brit fuzz drive. one day i got up to play it a few months ago , and it was just dead. whaaa whaaa petal . 😝😬😲😳😭😭😭 . can i jump on the kit if i make it to NY and one of your gigs? 🙏😃
the steeep steep turn this video took from: all you need is a drive a verb and a delay to: that outro that is a freakin´score for a film xD you GOT to love it
When he said you just need to get some standards with specific moves I wish he would have given a short list of those important tunes to learn that he was thinking of.
Oz is just a guitar genius. all his albums are phenomenal. everything he plays is to perfection. period.
"Period". Well, obviously no room for discussion 🙄.
Love Oz. I caught his second set at Ronnie Scott’s later that day (w/ Jimmy Haslip and Anton Fig). Awesome show!
OMG, HOW COOL!
What a treat for my day off work. Thank you Captain. Truly inspiring to hear Oz Noy.
One of the great underrated. Funky as hell, thanks, gentleman👍🏿😊❤
The only thing wrong with this interview was that it was over too quickly ....I hr and twelve minutes wasn't long enough !!....Fascinating from start to finish..Oz is brilliant..!!..🎸🌟🎸
Man, love to listen to a master player so down to earth, such an amazing artist! Oz is terrific!! Thanks for another great interview!
Dude - that Wes tone was almost spot-on from a strat. Damn.
Yeah that was crazy. I was hoping the interviewer was going to ask him how he got that tone.
Oz: "You have to get good tones out of pedals, and an amp."
Lee: *slips Oz a fiver*
Oz is one of the most dedicated players going, master player
Oz Noy is a truly great guitarist and improviser, thanks for sharing.
He's great. Very to the point and a great musician. Met him once, nice guy too.
Thank you for having Oz Noy on the show! I really enjoyed the interview!

Oz is just a top-shelf guitar player!!
Brilliant episode!
Thank you!
Oz Noy has definitely found his own unique musical voice. I absolutely love his music. Thanks for the great interview!
Every time I see Oz Noy I feel like a 11 year old again soaking up knowledge like a sponge. THANK YOU ANDERTONS❤
Is anyone else getting a little eclectic genius Paul Reed Smith vibe from Oz ?
Please bring more unique musicians like Oz, so interesting!
Rapidly click the like button when i saw who's the guest.
Oz is a good guy and a stupidly talented player! Really enjoyed this ☺️

Same, everyone goes through the same juggernaut of the city
I made a *transcription* of the awesome Fusion playing at 18:15 - 20:26 =D (with tabs + chords + sheet music)
Yeah man. I have a similar story, but transformed into an orchestral composer. I’m no longer a drummer for a living but Elvin Jones is still an inspiration when it comes compose Star Wars action music ;)

No time wasted in the studio. Seamless playing across all genres. Instant gratification.
Just discovered oz tbh _ great player _unfortuately too much rabbit and not enough playing on this interview sorry
Saw Oz here in Cincy. Not only was he a great player but his usage of effects was amazing, very tasty.
So lucky there was a Victory amp instead of his boring old Two Rock. Victory amps are so great!
yesss one of the best guitarists in the world today and one of my favourite. Can't wait to watch this one later!
Oz is like an organ player with those feet 🤯
very cool guy - brilliant player great interview captain - pray for Israel and all their people - God Bless
might be a weird connection to make but Oz and Jimmy Herring have damn near identical picking hand technique
Good interview. Good questions, even if our host isn't a jazz guy.
Shalom from Israel! Great seeing Oz =)
Sh*t the bed! This guy's amazing.
OZ the anti Guitar tab king 😂
yes u should listen yo more Oz, lee. 😎
15:23 Stevie Wonder is "relatively simple" now?
Oz is one of the all time greatest.
He's done a great jazz record more recently, and it kills.
Thanks for this. No more words.
Oz looks exactly like Toby from the Office
Outstanding. Might be the best Captain Meets...

Great video! 👍👍👍 - Haha Syd Noy.
Such lovely playing. Listening, I couldn't help imagining a beautiful SciFi movie with Oz's trio as the entire soundtrack. Give him the edited film and let them play for 2 hours on top of it.
Hi to Oz, and the Captain from Israel,
Love the Captain big smile when he hear the lesly with the freeze plugs!!!!🤘

finally. been waiting for this one forever
Oz is like Sco. You won’t find nobody playing like him. He’s fantastic !!
An Example - Listened to that, first part was great, 2nd part was as many notes in the wrong place as possible.... I think I am starting to understand jazz now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lee should introduce Oz to the new Fender CuNiFe Strat pickups. The range and clarity especially in the bridge seems like just what he would like.
I discovered him a few years ago on Spotify, with the Schizophrenic album, and I was literally both shocked and amazed by his way of playing and using the effects. He is simply phenomenal! So cool. I wish you briught more jazz guys. Maybe my best Anderton's video so far.

love me some Oz, i know he is a Jazz/Blues guy but there is an underlying quirky funkyness to everything he does. Dude is a badass!
The end performance had a sigur ros vibe to it. Vanilla sky
that was magical
I like big frets and I can not lie.
Great interview! Thanks a lot! Oz Noy Rocks!!! 👏👏👏
Wicked guitar player. Love listening to Oz talk about his playing.
I have his Exotic pedal
the steeep steep turn this video took from: all you need is a drive a verb and a delay to: that outro that is a freakin´score for a film xD you GOT to love it
Saw him in the heart of the Navajo reservation Gallup New Mexico!
Wow great video. I love oz noy's stuff, he is such a great player. I hope I can catch him live one day. Oz come to Wales please.
Pure gold. Captain you surprised me as a great interviewer. excellent !!!
When he said you just need to get some standards with specific moves I wish he would have given a short list of those important tunes to learn that he was thinking of.
Oz is amazing... Great interview, thank you :)

No way oz noy 👌👌👌👌👌
One of the most exciting guys to ever play. Such inspiration
Just absolutely brilliant, thanks Oz! And thanks Captain!
Oz is great and so nice he talked about Will Lee and of course Hiram Bullock, who was a musical genius.
Top 3 guitarists
I tried messaging pete about a lesson or two but he didn’t read my message . I’d love a couple from Pete 😁
One tenth speed Charlie Parker and I STILL can't catch up
Oz is a wonderful musician! Secret weapon!
This is my introduction to this player. Phenomenal.
At least Holdsworrh recorded with LEVEL 42
Incredible, tons of great info from Oz.
Too funny! I was thinking hockey game as well😂
The chairs make everyone look like children with their feet not touching the floor!
Can confirm that the Dry bell vibe machine is the greatest small univibe out there.
I love the versatility of Jeffrey Ross!! Respect 🙏
Wow! Rob Chapman hasn't aged well.
Live looper is very Trey! Super cool interview!
Oz is one of the best guitarists living today.
