We need more Oz Noy in this world. Such a great teacher.
Brett is doing a great job here too. Classic lesson plan: tell ‘em what you are going to teach, teach them, tell ‘em what you taught them.
Yep I agree!
Thanks!
I could listen to Oz talk and play all day
Hopefully we can get him back soon!
Invaluable lesson. Definitely open my eyes. Definitely gonna work sign metronome more
Awesome! Glad it helped ya out!
Oz, is amazing!
And Brett ain't too shabby himself 🤔😎
Thanks for all the.videos and lessons
We all benefit from them!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank ya! Glad you like the vids!
Just put I'll show you! Lol Guy can do it all ,. like That ! he says. Love it!
It amazes me that people can pick that well without anchoring their picking hand with the little finger on the body. Oz is great!
Some really great idea's in here !
lol" I dont know what goes on in my head"
Great stuff
Thanks for watching! Oz will be back soon!
The rhythm is gonna get'cha! Cheers Brett and Oz!!
Cheers!
Amazing mind and incredible musician. It makes you feel so far from the truth
Haha! Yeah OZ is pretty fantastic!
Well said 😊
Brilliant! Oz Noy!
Oz is the man!
He is a great guitar player. I've been listening to Brett for about 8 -10 years now. He is one of the kindest human beings I've ever seen and he himself is a kick ass guitar teacher and a kick ass player. Thank you Brett for all you have taught me through the years.
Thanks so much Eric!
Brilliant
Glad you liked it!
Oz is SOOO amazing! Love this guy!
Yep!
Insane guitar. INSANE!!!
Haha! Thanks for watching!
Brett, thank you for the recent episode with Oz and Uncle Larry. It was so cool to see to great players chop it up.
Good clip. Sound advice.
Awesome player.
Thanks for tuning in Jeff!
My only Christmas wish for 2022: 2 personal lessons with Oz 🙂
Well I am pretty sure he does teach. Hit him up on Insta.
Awesome awesome. Awesome
Glad you liked it!
Gozh Oz is so inspiring… Great to talk some good old rythm, that often stands alone in the shadow of solo stuff
What a voice!!!
Bret I am re-inspired thank you for, I have been in a rut. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Awesome Marty! Glad we could help!
Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm is King! Thanks Brett for this lesson. I love all the examples. May I also recommend the Band Tool - they play so many time signatures so if you can master that you can handle anything!
Sure thing! And yes Tool does have some epic tunes! Perfect Circle too!
I immediately bought Oz Noy's Funk Essentials from Truefire.
Awesome!
Thanks for doing another video with Oz. I've always thought that rhythm is SO important... and this video covered pretty much all the aspects needed for approaching it. Being hired as a guitar player usually consists of at least 80% playing rhythm. Great video... it's inspired me to get back to reviewing and practising all the great ideas presented here. Thanks again!!! Best regards from Montreal Canada✌😉
Sure thing! Glad you lied it. Going to try and get him back here soon!
@@BrettPapa
Cool. That could be great. I really did enjoy this very much. I'll be watching it again and taking notes!
the sickest back to back lesson!!
Glad you liked them Todd. Hopefully more coming soon!
Thanks so much guys . super lesson !
Sure thing!
There are those "lightbulb" moments that we as guitarists have, but to put this lesson in perspective, it is like The Mothership appearing over Devil's Tower ..One of the best guitar vids on youtube, thank you Brett and Oz !!
Wow man glad you liked it! Oz will be back soon!
Fantastic lesson. Oz is a great teacher - different than most "lessons" on youtube
Yeah I agree. He is a great teacher. Tons of knowledge on tap!
Thanks for the great tips!
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Ozome!
Haha
Great lesson. Makes me want to go grab my guitar and try some of this stuff out.
Do it!
What great ideas!
Glad you liked them! Thanks for watching!
Oz nice! Nice nice! thank you once again brett
Sure thing!
Dang!! This was good . I’m doing several of the things here but he put them together and I can’t wait to get to work
Awesome! Thanks for tuning in!
Oz is my favorite guitar player!
He is a beast!
Nice and funky! That was awesome.
Thanks for checking it out!
I HAVE to know what pickups are in that strat!!!!???They sound amazing!! His playing helps of course, he’s a beast of a player. I’m assuming it’s a custom shop 50’s strat but the pickups are exactly what I’m looking for in a strat sound.
Yeah I am not sure but they did sound fantastic!
Great lesson! Very interesting. Oz really gets under the hood with this stuff.
Thriller album guitarists were Paul Jackson Jr, Steve Lukather, Eddie Van Halen, Dean Parks, David Williams.
Dan Baird is a incredible pocket rhythm player...
Listen to keep your hands to yourself and just watch Dan.. Pretty crazy.. 👍
Great stuff with Oz, Brett! He's awesome.. but, wondering WHAT he's doing in Nashville?!? I know he's an East coast guy. Anyway, you've got to be having some fun with all of these fantastic players! BTW - regarding Albert King's rhythmic phrasing - he did at times work as a drummer early in his career. Thanks for sharing! Carry On!
he hangs out in austin too-saw him play there with a trio then he was in the audience at a robben ford show the next night in austin…guess he digs great guitar towns.
he hangs out with eric johnson in atx too
He was in town for like a day to hang and play a bit. He did a gig right after this. Was amazing!
Yep he knows all the cats!
Is OZ an Earthling? Holy shit!
Nope! Definitely alien life form!
Right on!!
Glad you lied it!
Oz can you please release a whole album "not trying to imitate him(bb king)"? Do all of the kings while youre at it.
Happy pappy.
SBL groove trainer is a killer app with a super in depth click that can be simple or have drop outs on certain beats, drum loops in a ton of styles, drone notes, all kinds of stuff. It's a great practice tool.
Thanks for the tip I will check it out!
It's Paul Jackson Jr., Steve Lukather, and David Williams!
Ah cool! Thanks!
Very cool
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the inspiration ⭐🎸
Amaze me
Yep Oz is amazing!
another point for the funk stuff, less is more
Yep good point!
Bret, what is it with you good guitarists and your beat up guitars, lol. Where do you find these guys? I've been following Kirk Fletcher since I saw him on your show.
I just have friends in these circles so when they come to town I have them stop by. A lot of the beat up guitars are either from real road damage or relic style guitars are real popular.
Oz strat might be the sexiest guitar I’ve ever seen
It's a good one!
Take notice, that's just a Strat playing straight through an amp with a hint of reverb. Clean....
Yep the Divided by 13 CJ11 is a fantastic amp!!
Pretty amazing that there s nothing said about the importance of the duration of a note in relation to rhytm. Without the contrast between staccato notes and longer ones no rhytm
Questions & Answers . 👍
Thanks!
Sooo, does this mean I have to Make up with my Metronome? ...
AGAIN!
Yep lol!
I wish i could get where i never run out of notes and idea on the spot😢
Haha me too!
Well shit, another great player that inspires me to quit playing and just watch😅
Lol! I feel ya!
Fuck ya!!!!
Woooohooooo!
Rhythm is the difference between noodeling and playing music.
One of the main things for sure!
Google Search has a metronome. No excuse....
lead is rhythm
dude Beautiful Tuttle!! do you like em better then Nash and fender?? or a different animal...thanks Brett
Thanks! I love both the Tuttle and the Nash. Tuttle is impeccably built with amazing attention to detain. A higher end instrument for sure but its also a higher price point than the Nash. Can't go wrong with either.
@@BrettPapa SO OVERALL like fender cs you get what u pay for? sound and quality??
Gracias from nyc!!!
