OMG gimme me a break. Naomi just had a baby six months ago. She was pregnant for almost 10 months and that is almost a year so her body needs time to RECOVER!!!!!! Her endurance and movement will get better as she continues to play!

Naomi looked exhausted at times with Garcia's return balls on her serve, she will bounce back eventually she just needs her fitness back
Even though Osaka lost I really like what I’m seeing from her. She should be proud. She’s more fit than ever and her forehand is looking immaculate.

There was no way Osaka would beat Garcia. She is trying to attempt a comeback but she is still very far from the form she needs to achieve.
@@mikejunior211 yes but let's not forget that she also gave birth 7 months ago, and being a mother myself I know how much it takes for your body to get back to normal. The form she needs to achieve will come only if she plays in tournaments against other great players
Good match, both ladies played well! Garcia is so fit and confident now; she's giving a lot of players the blues. So proud Naomi kept fighting and kept it close. If she continues, she'll be better than ever!
Nah Naomi is stubborn her coach told her to be patient in the rally but she decided to hit big shot after big shot, that alone made her do so many silly unforced errors compare to Garcia who control her pace ,she was more confident and composed. So overall Garcia played better and deserved the win.
Garcia went out in the next round, not that great to be honest, only turned it up for this match.

Osaka just needs match play, happy to see her healthy and still has passion. She just needs to pick up speed and polish off her ground game. And love seeing Garcia still in the game
Osaka didn't play bad. I was impressed by her gameplay given how long she was away. If she had run into most likely anyone else she probably would have won. It was unfair of the tennis gods. Garcia simply played a little better. I am sad that Osaka is out though. I wanted to see a fairytale comeback. I hope her heart is back in tennis again. She's too good of a player to not want to play. She would definitely challenge Iga, Sabalenka, Rybakina, & Gauff and shake up the "big four" on the women's circuit.

Caroline was simply the better, fitter player out there. The quality serving, one-two-punch made all the difference. Encouraging to see Naomi back, but I’m hoping she sees that we gotta work on that return game and making strategic adjustments when the other player is serving that well. Power hitting isn’t going to turn a match around without making those quick adjustments out there.
Naomi never was the best mover but she seems sluggish in her side to side.

Initially I thought this was a good matchup for Naomi but now that I think about it probably wasn’t. Garcia’s movement and athleticism in addition to the power is just too much for Naomi now. Not to mention she’s extremely aggressive.
i think the main problem was garcia's serve, it was too good, just like how naomi also lost to pliskova
This was an easy call. Osaka lacks speed and she was facing big serving all court player in Garcia. If you have been watching Garcia recently, she faced high level opponents with skills above Osaka .

Garcia played the game of her life and won like a champion. She skirted the court like a butterfly and richly deserved the win! Whereas Osaka is slowly marching back to her former glory! Wishing both the ladies love and success in the future!

It’s so cool to see Naomi wearing cool outfits. Most of the tour doesn’t bother with incorporating fashion anymore like in the previous generations. Makes it just that little more exciting to me.

Tough first round for Naomi on a comeback. Besides having an aggressive, proactive style of play, Garcia is fit and takes everything on the rise and doesn’t give up the baseline. She just played first strike tennis a bit better than Naomi today.
Great game by Garcia to win in straight sets. And for nailing that tie breaker, it was never in doubt.

EVEN NOLE, WAS BEATEN BY FOKINA AND OTHERS WHEN HE RETURNED TO TOUR DUE TO THE NON-VACINATION SITUATION SAGA. KEEP WORKING NAOMI. A LOSS IS PART OF THE SPORT AS LONG AS YOU DID YOUR BEST. UNFORTUNATELY THIS WASN'T YOUR BEHAVIOUR IN THE PAST, AS YOU USE TO SHOW LACK OF INTEREST, IN MY VIEW, AND CAME UP WITH A LOT OF EXCUSES AFTER LOSSES. Osaka could not figure Garcia's game out. From these highlights it seems that Osaka kept guessing wrong. This was a good match and definitely one that Osaka can learn from.
I don't know if she couldn't figure it out, or just didn't have an answer that left the game open to Garcia. Garcia handled her serves, she couldn't really handle Garcia's. Garcia moved her around court, which opened up shot selection because Naomi rarely could return anything challenging.
Amazing level of tennis that you can't believe is just the first round
This was pretty close because Garcia has been playing a lot and playing well lately. Osaka looks pretty damn good being that she hasn't played in a year and just had a baby. She will be back on it by the time we get to the French or Wimbledon. Good match..

Osaka is close. Her game is at a high level. She provided stiffer competition than some qualifier would. Which begs, the question: Why is Garcia playing Osaka here, instead of a low-level qualifier? Osaka too good to be matched against a high seed in Rd. 1.
She was gifted a wild card. Additional accommodation would be illegal.

What is wrong with Naomi? She absolutely does NOT like to run. Unless that ball gets hit directly to her, she will expend NO ENERGY to try and chase it down. Is this just conditioning after having her baby?
Garcia was VERY sharp! Osaka was not.
This was not a first round match
Osaka appeared flat footed and a bit slow. Tough first round draw. Garcia was serving well and spanking the ball with a lot of pace in those extended rallies.
Big props to Garcia, I thought she was going to crack under pressure, especially in the second set when Osaka picked up her serve, Garcia stood on her own. It’s extremely hard when your opponent finishes the serve in 60 seconds, the mounting pressure to hold your own is huge, but Garcia did it and it was very impressive since she didn’t have a serve weapon like Osaka.
Osaka will be back on top if she stays focused and fit ! Congrats to Garcia who is also talented.
I want and wanted Naomi to make a HUGE comeback, to get back to her former top shape...but not against Caroline: I love both of them.
I hope Naomi doesn't allow this loss to get to her mind and I hope she does better as the year progresses.

These are not the highlights. These are the lowlights of the match. Horrible selection of points. 8 minutes of wasted time watching unforced errors, aces, missed returns, 1-2 punch points. No rallies.
I didn’t watch the match so I’m only based on the highlights. Doesn’t seem like Naomi had much chances in this match at all.
