Plus I think that on the weird box/chest that he gives to Luxu, it has been found that there is written:"X superb" on it. Superb...like Superbia which means... Pride. So yeah your theory is brilliant ! Good job !
I really never knew Yoko Shimomura could do dissonant tracks but this is honestly one of the best themes in the series (arguably, the best - but I'm biased from finally hearing the full track in all its glory). This and Yozora's battle theme really give me hope for the level of complexity we're about to see in KH.

I just love how up to this point, we don't even know if the MoM is good or bad. We gets hints pointing at some stuff, but otherwise he's been kept a mystery thus far. I think the music is representative of his personality and eclectic genius. 10/10
I LOVE this song. Might just be my favourite of the series in term of characters' themes. It reeks of danger and madness. Like a person that tries to act smooth and noble yet you can feel behind it a beast. Fitting for the master who manipulated everyone for his goal.
God this song changes everything I thought about the master of masters...i thought he was ultimately good, but now it seems like he IS the thing we should fear!
Just imagine if these distorted notes reveal an existing theme that's jumbled together. Like waiting a bit on Vanitas's theme were you hear Sora's theme.
I believe more than a black and white "Evil" or "Good" that people seem to cast on MoM, he's like his theme. An agent of chaos, not for one side or the other. Not a player of the game, or a piece in the game, but rather the person who came up with the game. He's just setting up the rules for it, and seeing how it plays out. They all wield keyblades, but someone out there's gotta be the one who makes the keys, right? A locksmith. If KH ever truly gets a finale, it will be after defeating this guy. I'm hoping, to either this exact piece of music, or a renewed version at a later date.
He’s the man behind every ounce of suffering in the game and every ounce of good in the Game. He set the pieces up to kill thousands of people in a War meant only as a sacrifice to set things up, he openly admits to manipulating information in the book by not writing everything he saw down, just the stuff people “needed to know” aka the stuff he wanted people to see. He set Xehanort up to be a villain, he broke worlds apart, and anticipated every betrayal and death, and openly says that the people who have died in UX and the suffering of the worlds is not over because more worlds and more lives need to be sacrificed to kill Darkness. he also created the Keyblades which has saved many lives and the universe, spread the seeds of Light that would save worlds from an Apocalypse, created a virtual haven for the Dandelions so they could be protected, lead Luxu on his path who would go on to help Xehanort and ready the would be heroes for what’s to come, MoM has saved as many lives as he’s destroyed and none of it comes from a place of good will or malevolence. Everything he’s done is in service of his goal to kill Darkness.
It is said that MoM might have studied the nature of X-blade, and thus able to spawn Keyblades like he did to his apprentices. But for some reason, he didn't let Luxu have his own, MoM bequeath Luxu his (The No-Name, in KH3 it looks like 13 parts of it assembled to create one X-blade). Truly, he is full of unknowns.
Personally I think it's a fitting theme for a guy who's seen tons and tons of futures all at the same time, most implied to be horrible *without* the keyblade wars
Well it's not sure if Time in Kingdom Hearts is linear or Dynamic. If it's Dynamic than yes but if it's linear then the future is already set in stone from the beginning. The latter is implied by the existence of the No Name Keyblade, the Book of Prophecies and by the plot points Xigbar explained to Sora in DDD so your guess that he saw multiple futures isn't possible.
@@EUM_NEMESIS It is more like Mom set it stone he woud cheat. The concept of Worldlines applies here. Mom is attempting to lock down a peculiar Worldline, a Worldline with Sora doing the things he does.
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 yes but the thing about fiction is that you have to look from the writers standpoint. The writer always envisions his characters and their actions to be linear meaning that there is only one canon with their actions set in stone from the beginning. We don't understand/comprehend the full scale because we as the reader/player/etc. don't have the full Image of the piece. What I want to say is looking at KH as a whole and from Nomura's perspective just shows that everything was set in stone from the beginning because if some past event changed then that wouldn't be the canon Timeline anymore but a different one.

Man seeing how long the song is and how little we can hear it in X backcover, I feel we gonna hear it more in the next saga (and probably some variant based of this theme who know)
I love how out of all characters MoM is one of the least known...like we have years... LITERAL years worth of information and extra fun facts of all characters even the ones with least screen time. Now MoM we know nothin, and now that I am hearing his theme, idk why but I have an eerie, chaotic, child like, carefully calculated I know all your moves but I'm gonna let you do you type of feeling about him now that I hear this theme...he is THE GUY...
Remember Nomura used a quote from Shakespeare for FFVS13: "There is no good or bad but thinking makes it so" MoM: The truth is what you see with your eyes, *not what you hear* Just a REmind....................
I kinda believe MoM is the true villain of the series. I mean, sure, Xehanort wasn't forced into doing what he did, but MoM kinda egged him on, giving him an ego, telling him that the world needs him. That, and made a group of people try to kill each other trying to prevent the world from ending. Idk, at the very least I think the whole "master puppeteer behind it all" character will end with MoM. I'm sure there will be new, more powerful threats as the series goes on but I dont think there will be someone pulling MoM's strings, even if he turns out to be a character we already know.
We all thought Old Master Xehanort was the main villain for years and look at what happened. Something tells me we shouldn't hurry to say MoM is the biggest villain of them all.
@@SanelyInsane13 I mean, Xehanort technically was. Just for the previous saga. It seems we may get a new major antagonist per saga in this series (assuming it makes it beyond the 2nd and into a third one 😂)
2:05 That motif ive heard it before. I want to say its Cavern of Remembrance. Which makes so much sense now that we've been told MoM plans to travel to the future through The Ark requires someone to have memories of the person trying to travel.
I like that this theme conveys how chaotic the MoM is under his personality. How beneath his joking exterior, there is a mastermind that has been planning 100 steps ahead of everyone else for centuries . As if he's playing 4-D chess and everyone else in the game is playing Candyland.
A character's theme tells a lot about them. What do we have here? A jovial guy who's serious when he needs to be. But what does his theme tell us? It tells us that he has hours of clarity broken up by spells of Insanity. I really hope that when we finally get the chance to fight him, he moves in a strange, unnatural way, maybe creating some truly twisted constructs with his Keyblade and such.
This theme is how I imagine the inside of Tatsuya nomuras head sounds like… specifically the smashing piano part is when he thinks of a new plot twist.
Hes definitely gonna be the Final boss of the series. We all have our theories of his identity but since it can't be a known grown up of the KH cast since their voices don't change until their really old and MoM doesn't sound old it could only be a future version of a young character. My bet is either on Sora or an entirely new character with would drastically lower the plot quality.
@@dikastederook6380 If its a random character we haven't met yet its basically the same situation with Kaguya in Naruto. Lame ass ending tbh. But a evil, psychopathic, fucked up and revenge seeking Sora reveal after the Guardian crew accidently attacked sora and send him back in time would be awesome af.
@@EUM_NEMESIS Don't know about that honestly. I'd rather have a new character that was introduced earlier and at some point. Having the ultimate reveal "Oh I am an evil version of you" is just too common, not to mention it's basically the theory of everyone around here. Of course, it depends on how it's done.
MoM had a different childhood than sora, so they can't be the same person. the greatest evil at that time was sentient darkness, not the heartless, nobodies, and unversed that sora has faced.
in a sense it does work since your resetting everything back to 0 by doing that, going to save the world by lights way is just a tempt solution while making darkness much stronger since both side get stronger eventually but destroying everything even light and darkness makes the playing field equal to the point you can actually fix the mistakes that happened as long as you know what your doing and not making it worse
Stephen Robinson Hahahaha true. He even did it with Melody of memory, convincing us that the master of masters was going to take his hood off and it was a curveball and actually xehanort.
Daniel Veas Sánchez Well that doesn’t matter does it. What I meant was that we all thought that the person under the hood would be the master of masters, but Nomura pulled a fast one on us and made it xehanort. Melody of memory = MoM = Master of masters, he wanted to trick us and that my point.
Maybe MoM is related to sora like a great grandfather cause by his name and how he train the fortellers he could be one of the best keyboard weilders of all time and who else is one of the best keybpade weilders? Sora he could have got his skilled from mom
Well, I could lie and tell you what I am, when I'm actually a brilliant artist, or even a scholar. I could tell you that I dream of world peace. When I'm actually planning it's destruction.
This music screams anguish, suspense, tension, broken, resurrection, vengeance, power, desire and Omnipotence. "A cruel fate those who dare cross my path. My determination is clear,BEGONE!" is words i feel likd he would say
a little theory, what if the black box is actually a portal to another dimension? because the Master of Masters had known xeanorth in years past and realized the darkness that he possessed, it was clear that he wanted to "restart the world", for which he kept a special box in case the world was destroyed again, that's why he told luxu that the box contained "hope", which by the way xeanorth almost made it but sora stopped him. I do not know I explained well hehe
Yes, but no. The track could also represent the grand situation that MoM is in. He could be totally evil, or his goals can be far more complex. A person who is all knowing such as MoM would be exposed to darkness like no other. The song can represent his anguish and efforts to achieve his goals despite the oppositions. In the end the more obvious route is that he is indeed evil. We will see i guess lol
" The truth is what you see with you eyes, not what you hear". I wonder if this theme itself is a disguise, or the theme of Mom who is a disguise for a much higher Being?
I have an itching feeling that this is part of the Master of Masters’ boss theme and I have a feeling that he will be the true final boss of the entire game series and the hardest boss ever to fight
nah more like the original darkness would be the true final boss of the series since MoM is still human, he'd like sacrifice himself of it meant to fully trap the strongest darkness inside himself if he could or knew noone could handle it

There's only one sin missing : Pride.
That one should logically belong to the Master of Masters.
And Lucifer is often associated with Pride as well.
Plus I think that on the weird box/chest that he gives to Luxu, it has been found that there is written:"X superb" on it.
Superb...like Superbia which means...
Pride.
So yeah your theory is brilliant !
Good job !
@Joseph Dragonheart *mythology too
@Joseph You pretty much nailed it. Wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being the case. Like the way you explained it.
@Joseph fantastic
This theme is just waiting for the chance to become the sickest final boss theme in the series, i can feel it.
I really never knew Yoko Shimomura could do dissonant tracks but this is honestly one of the best themes in the series (arguably, the best - but I'm biased from finally hearing the full track in all its glory). This and Yozora's battle theme really give me hope for the level of complexity we're about to see in KH.
Data Version of Vector to the Heavens is really up there too
"the truth is what you see with your eyes, not what you hears."
This quote apply pretty well to the video, this song is scary but no what we see so he may have good intentions.
What I like about the random chaotic piano chords is that yeah they're random and chaotic but they're also in time and on beat too- this song fucking rules dude lol i can't wait to see what this guy does; we've gotten what, 15 minutes of screen time for him, and he's already light years cooler than Xehanort.
I just love how up to this point, we don't even know if the MoM is good or bad. We gets hints pointing at some stuff, but otherwise he's been kept a mystery thus far. I think the music is representative of his personality and eclectic genius. 10/10
I've been waiting for this ever since Backcover it sounded so good.
Omg same
I LOVE this song. Might just be my favourite of the series in term of characters' themes. It reeks of danger and madness. Like a person that tries to act smooth and noble yet you can feel behind it a beast. Fitting for the master who manipulated everyone for his goal.
something tells me he's gonna reveal himself to be absolutely fucking insane and the single most dangerous person in the universe
Seemingly nailed it
Maybe somehow be a Sora from a different timeline who went to the past and is now trying to solve his problems, could be wrong but idk
That would be so cool, I feel like the only song it possibly resembles so far is Nachtflugel but I really don’t know
I believe more than a black and white "Evil" or "Good" that people seem to cast on MoM, he's like his theme.
Thank you 13th Vessel. Now that my ears are blessed by this song...
...I can definitely trust MoM WAY more now
Personally I think it's a fitting theme for a guy who's seen tons and tons of futures all at the same time, most implied to be horrible *without* the keyblade wars
@@EUM_NEMESIS Sora changed the future, though, so there are ways to cheat it.
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 because it was set in stone that he would cheat it which leads into his eventual disappearance into Quadratum.
Imagine this song playable in Memory of Melody
Also, this is great! Sets the mood on the chaotic feel you have for MoM. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the character in Phase 2!
The only way to beat it is by throwing your controller in a wood chipper
@@williamrichter1113 I really want Melody of Memory DLC. I had so much fun completing every mission, and I want more! :D
So many songs that would be good to include, and I'd really like a new team too.
@@williamrichter1113 yes, and with this song in the background, would be amazing
Man seeing how long the song is and how little we can hear it in X backcover, I feel we gonna hear it more in the next saga (and probably some variant based of this theme who know)
I think this theme fits MoM perfectly, trustworthy and calming but then something starts to seem off, things start to fall apart
*Yoko playing music*
"Um, excuse me Shimomura-san, your car is being towed."
Yoko: 0:26
That's how you know you're the good guy, having a glitchy piano dirge for a theme song.
This theme literally sounds so chaotic and evil haha I love it so much
Love how simultaneously goofy yet scheming it sounds. Perfect for a guy like MoM.
That sounds like a very serious final boss theme. I hope this song gets developed much further
I absolutely adore this theme, glad it is finally released in all its glory. :) Thanks for the upload!
The ultimate boss of KH
Aye that.
Yep
To think that Kingdom Hearts was supposed to be just a Crossover game between Disney and the Final Fantasy series
I was searching for this, thanks
In a few months it's gonna be 4 years since 2.8. Good lord.
This sounds like it should be played backwards for some reason
Do it
A perfect song to represent the most perfect enigma in KH.
Remember Nomura used a quote from Shakespeare for FFVS13: "There is no good or bad but thinking makes it so"
MoM: The truth is what you see with your eyes, *not what you hear*
Just a REmind....................
It is Imagination.
IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME
MoM won’t be in MoM though I warn you
The Master of Masters...the Central Antagonist of KINGDOM HEARTS as a whole.
I highly doubt that. Probably for the saga. Kh is like dbz...kind of. Nomura doesn’t write everything in advance, he writes the story as it goes on.
@@robitussinbrohan718 Some things of course.
I've long believed that The Master is the true mastermind behind things since he's introduction. This makes me _certain._
The Master of Masters, one of my favorite villans so far. 💖
2:05 That motif ive heard it before. I want to say its Cavern of Remembrance. Which makes so much sense now that we've been told MoM plans to travel to the future through The Ark requires someone to have memories of the person trying to travel.
it sounds more like the secret boss battle in kh1 to me
You got this Kairi, don’t let the Master of masters steal your heart and the princesses of hearts
I would tell who really is the guy in melody of memory
Is not what you think
I like that this theme conveys how chaotic the MoM is under his personality. How beneath his joking exterior, there is a mastermind that has been planning 100 steps ahead of everyone else for centuries . As if he's playing 4-D chess and everyone else in the game is playing Candyland.
Goosebumps all over
A character's theme tells a lot about them.
The music send fear, suspense, horror and chaos vibes
This theme is how I imagine the inside of Tatsuya nomuras head sounds like… specifically the smashing piano part is when he thinks of a new plot twist.
This man is going to be a surprise, idk if hes gonna end up being our greatest villan or greatest allie
@@EUM_NEMESIS I honestly don't hope it's Sora. Would be too easy.
Woe! This is honestly so awesome!!
-I'LL SAVE THE WORLD!
-how will you do that ?
-BY COMITTING MASSIVE GENOCIDE AND DESTROYING THE WORLD!!
Flawless plan MoM.
in a sense it does work since your resetting everything back to 0 by doing that, going to save the world by lights way is just a tempt solution while making darkness much stronger since both side get stronger eventually but destroying everything even light and darkness makes the playing field equal to the point you can actually fix the mistakes that happened as long as you know what your doing and not making it worse
Master of the Masters is obviously Tetsuya Nomura's self-insert.
somebody in another comment section said his theme sounds as if it has parts of Dearly Beloved and Sora's Theme in it....
scary.
MoM is Future Sora theory increases.
A few parts like 0:28 - 0:40 give me Drakengard vibes, and that's a pretty twisted series.
HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON I HEAR SORAS THEME BEGIN BUT STOP AT 0:39-0:41 OH MY GOD
Interesting and true, but don’t take this as evidence that MoM is sora lol.
@@sharpshooterxigbar5713 oh of course we all know nomura loves fuckin with us lol
Stephen Robinson
Hahahaha true. He even did it with Melody of memory, convincing us that the master of masters was going to take his hood off and it was a curveball and actually xehanort.
Daniel Veas Sánchez
Well that doesn’t matter does it.
I don’t know what everyone is talking about he seems to be a trustworthy guy
Ok, i believe him
MoM is gonna be a serious enemy...
He is the manipulative Villain behind all...he is THE ENEMY
This music screams anguish, suspense, tension, broken, resurrection, vengeance, power, desire and Omnipotence.
"A cruel fate those who dare cross my path. My determination is clear,BEGONE!" is words i feel likd he would say
A fitting theme for a man who can see the future
Dear God that piano!!!
"Okay I believe you" - the song
OH YA THINK THATS GROSS, DO YA?!!
a little theory, what if the black box is actually a portal to another dimension? because the Master of Masters had known xeanorth in years past and realized the darkness that he possessed, it was clear that he wanted to "restart the world", for which he kept a special box in case the world was destroyed again, that's why he told luxu that the box contained "hope", which by the way xeanorth almost made it but sora stopped him. I do not know I explained well hehe
Dark road disproves this
5:17 I love the timing
A bizzar master piece to say the least.
I honestly can’t wait to hear this in a boss fight.
This dude so mysterious stg
Somebody needs to make a mashup of this and Sora's theme
this is horrifying...BUT its still amazing bye-
MoM: I am a good guy, You can trust me
The community: Okay I believe you
After this theme: Okay I DO NOT believe you
This track literally confirms that the Master of Masters is evil. Way too much creepy vibes
We will see i guess lol
the master of masters is neutral but have a lot of puppets under his will
This song acosted me in a back alley and made me give it my lunch money

" The truth is what you see with you eyes, not what you hear". I wonder if this theme itself is a disguise, or the theme of Mom who is a disguise for a much higher Being?
I have an itching feeling that this is part of the Master of Masters’ boss theme and I have a feeling that he will be the true final boss of the entire game series and the hardest boss ever to fight
nah more like the original darkness would be the true final boss of the series since MoM is still human, he'd like sacrifice himself of it meant to fully trap the strongest darkness inside himself if he could or knew noone could handle it
