Additionally, and as stated in the video, she technically did qualify to be at the Olympics. Your first two statements are false. yes ! thank you. her ''dancing'' was beyond terrible, she had no skills in dance what so ever, most 3 year olds can dance better tan her, no joke. allowing someone that bad to compete ANYWHERE especially the world stage as the Olympics is a result of the era of the 90s and the participation trophy, choosing and awarding people; declaring them winners, calling them talented, or skilled when in reality they are not , raising kids, with false affirmations, telling them they are good at this n that when they are not in the spirit of ''boosting self-esteem'' and not hurting or crushing their spirit , its showing in the last 20 years or so how it has effected society and how peoples' mentality is in adulthood, how they act and carry and see themselves. this shit was absolutely embarrassing, and sadly, sometimes learning the truth and seeing reality hurts.

    • @LynSmithmusic
      @LynSmithmusic 26 дней назад +52

      Very true indeed. Highly unlikely that an amusing dance would provoke hate anyway. However, in the unlikely event that someone decided to feel hate, This is not illegal, neither is feeling love. feeling hate toward a person is sad and regrettable but is not a crime as long as we do not harm anyone or express hateful or threatening comments or actions. The woke community is attempting to cancel all human emotions and passions. They are already succeeding in many areas of creating a suicidally depressing dystopia. Sigh. Anyway. Yes, agree with you 100% that criticising an endeavour is our right, and is natural, and is nowhere near the same ball park as the emption of hate. World gone entirely mad.

    If a person can't deal with having the eyes of the world on them and the opinions that are bound to come with them, then don't compete in the Olympics.

Back when there was the movies, "Breakdance" and "Breakdance 2 electric boogaloo". Surely there was a B girl younger than 37 that coulda out done old Raygun. If they spent 25 mil couldn't they have thrown some grant money for a trip to Sydney to some serious contenders. Had em send in some vid and get em to compete in the heats? I heard that she had some say in where money was allocated to get people to heats as there was some controversy that she was apparently involved in about some indigenous boys that didn't get a grant to get em there to compete and they wouldn't of even been completion for her. So who else to get the funding to get there?? So maybe it wasn't rigged in the way people have suggested, but it seems to smell fishier than the flailing fish outta water she was impersonating lol. So anyway, I'm sure there was a young B girl that coulda out done a 37 yr old who when it boils down to it. Had bugger all when it came to the B girl game. 🤷‍♂🤔

      I always wondered how ordinary Australians feel about this. All the media seems to support her and against the "bullying". Sometimes it feels like we live in some bizarro world when you listen to mainstream media. I get it, as an artistic type event, art can be interpreted many ways. But while this is more of an artistic event, there is some athleticism and physicality associated with it. And her routine offered very little of that.
      And my main issue is she devalues the "sport" or "event" by what essentially seems like trolling for laughs. The person winning the gold medal probably doesn't feel as proud as they should, because someone else competing in it that clearly has little talent. It would be like if Lebron James was playing against 5th graders.
      And this will of course be a danger when you have more artistic type events with judges and whatnot. But as I mentioned above, it's not just about art, there is athletic talent associated with these "dances" as well.

      That's actually 25% right. There are elite athletes at the Olympics, but it's a not a best of the best of the world competition. Only 2 competitors from a single country are allowed in any one event. For example, if the top 10 cyclists were 5 from France and 5 from Spain we wouldn't see the top cyclists in the world competing. We'd see the top 4 cyclists and everyone else. It's not for fun and jokes, though. It's an exercise in global unity, cooperation and competition. It has it's merits but it's not the end all award of any sport, really, despite how it's been touted culturally. To be clear, anyone who wins a medal, or even competes (seriously competes; present company excluded) in the Olympics are vastly more talented than I am and should be proud of their accomplishment. @ragnardanneskjold7675 I get it, history is hard, but we're gonna make it easy today, cool? Alright, so the 50s REALLY started the whole "participation trophy" rhetoric in all honesty, due to the economic prosperity of the middle class. That led to those children who are now adults in the late 60s and 70s to grow up to be self-centered and entitled (which is why you see so many boomers today still act that way). And that's where the "opinion bad, must be bullying" mindset really started forming.

    Australian here. I am so embarrassed by her. We have a culture and saying here of “giving it a crack” meaning trying your best. In a post “battle” interview she said this:
    "I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best: their power moves," Gunn said of those competitors in her group. "What I bring is creativity."
    Gunn said all of her moves were original and that she was trying to be as creative as possible.
    "Creativity is really important to me. I go out there and I show my artistry. Sometimes it speaks to the judges, and sometimes it doesn't. I do my thing, and it represents art. That is what it is about," Gunn added.
    No mate. Just because you know you can’t win doesn’t mean you screw around. You try your best. It’s like being in the 100m sprint and knowing you are a full second behind your competitors best. So you decide to skip down the lane? No you run your best. It’s a slap in the face to your country, the games, and mostly the other competitors. Just shameful. Then to cry about your pathetic performance. Very disappointing.
