I’m proud to say I have never watched a single Mr. Beast video in my life.

It's not as bad as you think. He has a fairly humble attitude in his videos. If you've seen alot of these other youtubers, who can be arrogant, obnoxious, and 1,000 time more mindless then his content. He also donates to charities and pretty much the money he makes from his videos go into his next videos that involve helping people. I find it funny that this is even becoming that big of a deal, I grew up during the CKY and jackass days- and I love it, but it's not exactly educational lol and it caused a wave of teenagers to copy alot of their stunts and pranks. Pranks that still continue til this day on RUclips with other content creators.

The youth today do NOT play outside anymore. No bike jumps, climbing trees, adventure hikes, catching frogs, building death trap go carts, tree house, underground forts, or anything outside without the view of a parent. All thrills are through video games or social media. So sad.

You have to realize this partly parents fault and the design of the united states as well. In many parts of the states theres no way for kids to get to a park/third place without crossing dangerous roads, or simply walking very far distances, hour plus long walks. So only kids who live in developments with lots of children will have mates to play outside with. You also have parents who are completely overprotective, ive heard stories of people having the police called on them by their neighbors because their kid was outside in their yard by themselves. Helicopter parenting and poor city planning play a part in this as well as social media ans video games being easily accessible and infinitely scrollable. YOU EVEN MENTION IN YOUR POST "OUTSIDE THE VIEW OF A PARENT" dont you think thats partly the parents fault as well?

For me, it was the extravagance in the videos. You really have to be smart but narcissistic to pull that off. Obviously he had to enforce a lot of bad things for his channel to grow so fast and create content for the masses. Nothing comes for free

You haven’t missed anything noteworthy regarding the videos. The guy himself appears to enrich himself aimlessly and ruthlessly to the detriment of those working in front or behind the camera. His child-like behaviour is relatable for his young audience and they’re easier to manipulate, which he intentionally exploits.

I watch RUclips more than tv, Netflix, movies, etc., and I had never heard of Mr. Beast until just before all these accusations and controversy started. Now, I must say that I usually watch RUclips for finance, sports, science, history, paranormal stories, and art/art tutorials. But to hear how big this channel was floored me!

As an ole club comedian in the 80s, 90s who used to work with Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks,..my cohort’s and I came to know a similar thing that happened with the most popular comedian’s, it was called ‘shock comedy’. We were warned about this by the entertainment agent’s who told us that once you go down the ‘dark road’ of shock comedy 🎭 your act would have to get more shocking, more graphic, darker and darker until it comes to an end. This is when the audience turns on you and leaves, out of boredom.

He didn’t really develop a persona, he developed a brand. The “something else” he’s covering using layers of protection is his hollow self you can see in his eyes. From previous videos about the MrBeast situation, I was confused why he was popular in the first place. Dr grande has gone in to far more detail than any of them put together and I now feel I have lost all hope for the survival of our species.
Well not all, my kid never liked MrBeast and thought his videos were crap.
This is what Mr Beast sums up for me -America! A culture obsessed with the infantile, enthralled by celebrities, money, looks, shallow thinking, arrogant and mainly pointless. Social media and MSM has done America no favours in many ways. I am aware that there are many Americans who are intelligent, knowledgeable, articulate and wise, but because they don't flaunt themselves, and why should they. Which means that sadly, we don't see much of them. Dr Grande is a good example of the latter.
He brushed off a lot, imo and mostly focused on his popularity. I wish he went more in depth about the allegations.

I don't care for the guy either, but I think he has very little in common with serial killers. In my opinion it is, ultimately due to the loss of religion. Even if religion isnt even true, and even if there is no God, the bible was the "constitution" of culture for western countries. Now that we have seen the loss of religion you have a phenomenon of society creating values as they go. There is no value system that is set in stone (or in a book lol). The value system can change on a dime. Just like how it is doing now. The values of today may be completely different in 10 years.

She used to be nice and level headed, but last time i talked with her she seemed to value everything by the numbers, for example how much a certain jacket costs rather than how it looks. Dr. Grande made a video several years ago wherein he suggested a classification of narcissists he dubbed the "communal narcissists". These are people who feel compelled to frequently put their generosity on display with the expectation of receiving praise and admiration. I think of this a lot when I see wealthy youtubers like Donaldson who have hundreds of videos of themselves giving away money. It's really narcissistic in two ways. They are vainly displaying how wealthy they are, and also demanding respect with their highly dramatized acts of charity.
If I was Jimmy I'd be saying to myself, "Oh no, sh*t just got real...Dr Grande posted a video about me and I can't have the public finding out about my sociopathic tendencies!!!"

Either way, it's one thing to have an HR dept or legal counsel on-hand. It's another thing to take their advice *before* you get yourself caught up in scandals and allegations.
LegalEagle does a good video covering this case as well, esp in regards to the illegal lotteries, where he points out the timeline where it appears Jimmie took legal advice and stopped doing some of the illegal lottery activity he was accused of by DogPack in the first video.

@@DeadManSinging1 There is a video that just came out by a guy named Ty Ore, basically alleging that Mr. Beast stole his idea during a multi-day interview where he ended up not being hired. This was in Feb 2024, and he shows an email at 20:11 where the coordinator asks him to wait for response from their "accounting/HR team" and that they may need a W-9 from him. So there was an HR team at least 5 months ago. I don't know when that email you're describing states Jimmy needs to "hire an HR person" - but anyway, the only people who know for sure are the ones who have worked there. But I have a feeling he's had one for some time now.
He makes his employees sign NDAs and obviously believes that an NDA absolves the company and everyone related to it from crime.

I think the reason his videos are so popular is inertia. He has been on RUclips for 12 years, a service that has been around for 19. He started at a time when being a 'RUclipsr' was just starting to be a viable career choice. If he started a channel today, no one would know who he was, because it was definitely easier to gain traction back then.

The problem with social media fame is that it is too confined. These people all depend on the one business...Google. And assuming Google loses its monopoly, the sheer number of competing influencers eclipse one another. Ultimately in capitalism, the market saturates itself. No one can really dominate it UNLESS they are at its source.
I would also argue that Mythbusters was an exception to the rule. Plenty of television- if not most of it- is mindless. Mr.Beast just proved that mindless television could be created by the individual and not need corporate executives
