You forgot another Huntsville Alabama claim to fame, we are where the state constitution was written and ratified. We have a little museum in downtown Huntsville that is like it was during that time.

Bonus fact: Though the building is a recreation, the Carpenter Shop where the delegates met is actually directly above the foundation of the original building. Meaning that's exactly where they met back in 1819, too.
I used to work there when it was a museum, and boy do I miss giving those tours.

@@boomhauer09 I remember that, my Dad took me there the summer between my second and third grade years. My school did the obligatory school trip that fall because a tornado struck our area and the school itself.

“Circumstantially became involved in WWII” is an interesting way to say officer in the SS

Failed to show the actual downtown city, makes Huntsville look like a small town with hokey tourist attractions…Huntsville has been one of the nation’s biggest boom towns in the last five years and yet there’s not one shot of downtown, big spring park, botanical gardens, the arsenal, the historic twickenham district, etc.

I've always had the idea in my head to do a show just like this. Going around and showcasing towns and their histories. You have executed it very well!

Why have multiple locations dedicated space exploration? Choose one place especially in the early stages.

Meh. I'm a native of Huntsville, and the fact is that this town blossomed and has been kept alive on a raging river of federal dollars. The boutiques, kicky restaurants, and arts scene are just markers of affluence, not anything particular to Huntsville. If Redstone Arsenal (strangely missing from this video) ever closed, Huntsville would dry up and blow away.

60 year resident here. I see way too many new multifamily rental units being frantically constructed in Huntsville and surrounding areas. I-65 south to Cullman is now considered to be "in the Huntsville area" by realtors. This has driven real estate values to much less affordable levels for a lot of folks.

I lived here for a couple years during my "prime time" in my career. We loved the area and even looked for homes there. We still regret not buying a certain condo overlooking the Tennessee River in Decatur.
    G's!!! Delicious food!!!
