- Metal Detecting | XTERRA PRO Destroys This Beach
This beach was on fire! Nonstop targets. I was forced to use the Xterra Pro as my Legend has failed. The Xterra Pro showed this beach who is boss. I was very impressed with how it handled the beach, and it managed to sniff out some gold. Amy found something that at a quick glance, makes your heart stop.

I was rather impressed with the Xterra Pro on this hunt. It performed really well, the best experience I have yet with the Xterra & it sniffed out some gold. Amy's find was a quick heart stopper.
How funny... When Christine and I go detecting I am often in shorts and she is layered like we are detecting in the arctic... The XTerra Pro is Christine's "Go To" detector of choice... she absolutely loves it. Excellent gold cross!
Amy is always freezing lol. It can be 80 out and she is still cold.
Xterra Pro for $269.00 is a great detector. It will compete with much more expensive detectors. The backlight is good for night detecting. I got one for beach detecting. I already have an old Tesoro DeLeon not good for beach. Now I use the Xterra most of the time. Tesoro is great anywhere but the beach. It's been a great friend.
Ya you are correct, I really have not given in the chance, but it has really grown on me. My opinion has changed on it, I was not a massive fan of it because of the VDI jumping issue. However, it is proving itself to be a really nice machine, especially at that ridiculously low price point. Thanks for watching Bobby we appreciate the support.
Great hunt! Thanks for all you bring to us.
Thanks so much!!!
Rapid fire targets... AWESOME! Congrats on the gold! :-)
Non stop, it was awesome. Thanks for watching OC
Great video. Good luck with the new machine.
Thanks Mikey!
Let's go let's go treasure and adventure ... I use the xterra pro and I love it. it is simple ✌👵
It does well i will admit. Its a great little machine. Thanks for watcing Kelly!
I bet that was a super fun hunt. Finding tons of targets like that is exciting. Very nice find with the gold cross 😁 on a side note, not sure if you remember me talking to you about my health over the last 3 years due to what i thought was COVID. BUT … i just got COVID 3 days ago and it’s incredibly brutal !! How old are you John ? I only ask because I’m 53 and was wondering how you faired through the illness. Did you feel like you were getting better and then get worse before you finally go better ? If those questions are too personal i understand. Great vid, keep crushin it 👍🏼🤞🏼😁
Hi Drinkely! I am 39, Covid really didn't affect me too much it was extremely mild compared to others I know that came down with it. It did not take me off my feet for too long. I recovered rather quickly. I did not experience the getting better than getting worse feeling. I really hope you get well soon, get some rest, drink lots of fluids I am sure you will be up and adam in no time. Get wells soon my friend, prayers coming your way.
@@SOFLOTreasureFinds thank you much for the response and well wishes. Hoping it starts to subside in the next day or so. Happy you got over it quick !
Geotech explains here how a single frequency machine like the Xterra Pro can be so good at the beach
“It's single frequency in that it only transmits a single frequency square wave. But that square wave has odd-order harmonics and the 3rd harmonic can be demodulated as a pseudo-second frequency and used for salt cancellation. Because the 3rd harmonic is much weaker, it does not make an effective second frequency for the purpose of detecting targets. That is, if you transmit a 5kHz square wave, the 15kHz 3rd harmonic is useful for salt cancellation but otherwise the detector performs mostly like a 5kHz single frequency.”
What coil are running on the xterra I still have the stock on mine but wanting to upgrade just not sure what to get
Its the stock coil. I use the xterra more of a back up machine than a main machine. Are you a beach hunter? Bigger would allow you to cover more ground and grab some more depth. By How much? I am not sure. But beaware the bigger the coil the more weight is added. Smaller coils are great for tight brush, parks and have great ability to pinpoint shallow targets and are less susceptible to emi.
@SOFLOTreasureFinds I primarily do beach hunting only thing I really have access to not being able to drive at the moment
And When you Swing over A Coin Target with the X-Terra Pro, you know it AND when it's not a good Coin target the VDI Numbers will jump and you know that it's a either a Relic and Just Junk and possibly Aluminum....
I will pay attention the next time i swing it. Never paid attention enough
@@SOFLOTreasureFinds And I'm only using the Sensitivity of 12 -18 on the X-Terra Pro and Nothing Higher than that and a few times I have went to 20 but not very often and when I'm trying and testing,New ideas I have bumped it up to 25 but it's only for my test results but it's back down to 12 afterwards..... and the X-Terra Pro is a Very Powerful Detector that is and will actually prove itself once you realize that you don't have to be at Full Sensitivity 21-25 At All 🤔🤔. Anytime.
But now you have a good idea of how it will perform.
Xterra pro blew me way this hunt.
@@SOFLOTreasureFinds I saw your Facebook post on your Equinox 900, and I see you understand just how nice the Minelab Machines are. Xterra pro is not bad either as you have seen.
I noticed you're not in all metal mode, does that make a difference
I was testing. I am always in all metal mode.
The Equonox is even better than the Xterra pro
It's also 3 times the price.
