Really don't get why people say Pilum is better than Newton. Newton has an extra gun, and it's weapons have a lot higher damage than Pilum, which makes up for the small difference in firing pattern.
I would say because Pilum is better PVP ship due to that firing pattern. A lot of PVP officers affect the first few rounds of combat immensely which lends to the Pilum's strength. I have the Newton and love it but realize PVP is not its strong suit, or I suck, either way lol.
At 52 got all blueprints for Northcott and will get for rom explorer as over time
Very timely video for me. I have both the Newton and the Pilum and am planning for ops 50+. The 4* epics are very expensive as you noted but I was thinking about getting one as it seems like it would take a long time to go from ops 50 to 53 + shipyard. How long does it take to get from 50 to 53 for a moderate spender? Are we talking about a few months or a year? Thanks!

Hey, I’m a ops 44 but I’m my alliance there are lots of people in the 50s who have gotten from 49- 53 in a couple months if that, and they only get the monthly battle pass
You mentioned the amounts of faction credits that will be needed for the g5 uncommon, but shouldn't it also be mentioned that people will also need faction credits to get a nova or two? Which is another reason not to get a g4 epic ship.
Yaa true that didn't even hit me till you said that, I was hyper focused on the g5 unc lol
Different is the cost to maintain.
Am ftp have pilum t6/t7 probably take it to t7.
And have korinar currently t2. Now working on Newton from drops 89/350 and tribune from ata 25/650 will skip the g5 unc cos of sheer cost to maintain. And it's gonna be a while b4 I even hit 53 let alone get to 56.
Eventually you will max them out because just like g3 is now close to useless for you once you finish off all the g4 research and base upgrades you will have nothing left to do besides push them up…but go base first push to g5 then do the backfill on the research then the ships.
I’m not sure that you can skip the g5 uc. Maybe with the talios. Probably not well with a g4 epic.

Unfortunately no
Standard ship selection serves no purpose. Shipyard level should be the default. its the best to show ships of near unlock levels.
I grind with my Pillum, I kill Pillums with my Kori.
