I am going to provide an alternative perspective on Battleships. The best PvE crew is Pike/Moreau/Chen. Chen nullifies energy weapon damage. Explorers have all energy weapons. With a Battleship's massive Hull, PMC and the advantage of triangle, they can grind explorer hostiles for days on a single hull. That makes Battleships highly efficient PvE grinders. Depending on the grind, avoiding an extra warp will offset any time savings from a better impulse speed.
The number one bad thing about Battleships is they are so damn slow. Unless your short on speedups and materials to repair your better with a Interceptor or Explorer as otherwise the speed penalty makes the daily grind even more unbearable.
I like this video. It's long but comprehensive. If I had this when I was coming up it would have saved me a lot of hassle. Thank you stranger for making this. Wish we could travel the world together, but you said my Newton is worthless and that hurt my feelings. 😂😂😂
I think the Vidar Talios should be S tier, but other than that a good list. Voyager is nice for its range but ultimately has a long ass grind to go with it to level it up so I'd rate it lower for that reason.
Excellent list! Good to hear what some of the early/mid-level ships can do, especially Meridian and Mantis. Thank you for putting this together. A couple places where my experiences differ from yours: My Franklin has been a very solid swarm raider up to Lvl 32s, which is the max level I need for dailies at the moment. My Intrepid, though admittedly slow, has been a very consistent hostile grinder. I've made her especially tanky against hostile survey ships, which was very helpful for reputation grinding. She typically lasts longer than my Saladin, and at present (OPS 33 going on 34) is my strongest ship. Admittedly, I'm not that big on PVP, so my priorities are different from yours.
Yes, I did watch the whole Video.. lol Thanks much for all the work you put into things and your Insights.. It does make planning ahead so much better... I would not be so down on the miners since, they are especially crucial to the game economy... But I see you are spot on with a lot of your picks... Great video - very worth watching, and I watched the whole thing, despite most of it not being relevant to me for years to come (if I'm even still playing by then). A few notes / my opinions as a current Ops 27 player; My Franklin is way faster to repair than doing the same with an explorer available to me at the moment... It does my swarm dailies with 1x 30min repair speedup, a single trip - which is bugger all (and less than any other ship I have). Not sure if it was changed or something, but I had a different experience than you describe at least after it had a few teirs into it (I was doing my dailes with the Vahklas b4 it was good enough, but that was costing me far more repair speed ups despite the fact my vahklas was teir 6; was no need to take it past 5 honestly, but it was my carry ship until I got the Vi'dar at ops 25; the franklin past it in efficiency well before teir 6 itself). The Franklin took over the role of being what I use for swarm at about Ops 25, when it became tired enough to do all the swarm dailes within one hull. Not to mention wasting any more into upgrading the vahklas is a complete waste of resources (since been scrapped). Personally, I would skip the Kumari and just do the Vahklas a bit over it; reason being, you should get the Vi'dar soon afterwards if you played your cards right, and it is a solid do everything ship till you get a 28 faction ship (or hell even skip the 28s if you want, which I know some people have done, though more questionable...), and that's a much better ship to put your time and resources into; you get the Vahklas sooner, and its a decent swarm daily/event killer til you get your franklin upto snuff, and will handle the faction dailies easily enough too til the Vi'dar comes on line. No idea where you are getting the "like 12 hour repair" info from (maybe that was changed?), mines is a fresh teir 6 right now (no gear upgrades and not leveled from teir 5 yet) and even destroyed on purpose as a test (because even doing the swarm event on Monday/Sunday is not a full hull); the repair is 59m45sec, Compared to my Vidar (also teir 6) which is a 2hr30min repair bill full hull. ----------- The botany bay has a second 'trick' you missed - its a much better raider than the envoy (higher max capacity, significantly - I have a teir 6 horizon atm so I use that now, but my teir 7 botbay (which is easy to upgrade to by ops 25) has +106% more max cargo than a maxed Envoy; not until the horizon is tired up a bit will you have a better raider (then of course the infamous Amalgam at 31). Sure that's a minor use case to a lot of people; but its something overlooked all too often in the mid 20s. Seeing people raiding with envoys in incursions is just silly when they have that botbay just sitting there. ---------- You'll want to grab one of either the rom/kling lvl26 ships at OPs 26 for stealth dailies; no need to teir it, but worth grabbing one (with the stealth unlock stuff too). I don't see any reason not to personally (unless you are paying out to skip to higher Ops), the are the cheapest ships to stealth with, and you might as well get started on that grind at 26 for the research alone. The problem with throwing resources into a 26 ship is the vi'dar easily carries you to 28 and beyond; mine at Ops 27 (with still a decent amount of building and research to go, and still on that stella grind is 788k power - it takes a lot of 3star resources to get a lvl26 ship to there, that would be better saved for a 28 ship.) The Vi'dar you should be working on anyway. ---- Main problem with the Saladin - not that its not clearly the best of the 28 ships as a ship, it is, but that it takes so much crystal to upgrade. Which as a FTP player you really should take into consideration as the crystal load is a serious impediment to upgrading stuff in the late 20s/earlymid 30s. In that way its kinda in the same boat as the Mayflower - IF you were planning to stay lower ops level for longer periods they are the best investment, but they will slow you down if you don't. Its certainly a question to consider on that front; but you probably wouldn't regret the Saladin if you go that route either.

good video, good explanation of the ships 👍 I agree to the Defiant. a very limited ship. don' underestimate the Mantis. I use it even as daily faction grinder. as Mantis is according to the Borg Cube better in range and strength.
Cerritos is my fav 2nd ship for waves. after a while it does decent damage, plus allowing you to buff yourself and alliance people during waves is unmatched. (im also a 39 camper with a t8 cerritos). using things like max fortify/cerritos buff are often overlooked. as long as your ship doesn't blow up, the buff stays.. so if you're say.. grinding SOL, just go live in Wolf and recall at low hp instead of blowing up.
This is what people often will say, and repairing it is cheaper, but I found it also died faster, so you'd need to repair it more often which negated the cheapness part.
I think Voyager might be S tier for the refinery, farming huge amount of messages, and especially the ability to punch up on armada credits with support from your high level alliance members.
Disagree on the lvl 26 ships, you're going to want to get either a D3 or Legionary to unlock cloaking and cloaking research vs the Mayflower. Plus you want to save those credits for the G3 epic Enterprise.
Yeah, I didn't mention in the video, but I probably just wouldn't get cloaking at all that low, 'cause you're not going to be using those ships very long

Given how the PvP meta has changed with the advent of apex-barrier, would you reevaluate the 50+ ships? Fights now will last longer, mostly in PvP, but somewhat in PvE as well. Any thoughts on it?

Should I go back and get an Enterprise? I have a Monaveen, a Voyager, an Eviscerator, an NX01, Talios. My Monaveen is 13 mill, Voyager 10 mil, Stella is weak, Mantis 4 mill. Thoughts?
Heya, I probably wouldn't spend any faction credits for an Enterprise at this point, you'll eventually get some from Armada chests and stuff over time, Same with the ISS Jelly, you'll either get through chests or if your alliance has Territory you can get through that, but at lvl 42 now the new Faction ship at that level will become much better than any of those old ships. Legionary has better health and the mayflower is straight trash, its not able to punch as hard as the d3 or legionary and is easily outclassed by Romulan/Klingon 26 ships. So far the Borg Cube has served me well as a pve ship, helped me hit the 35 swarms. I am only a lvl 41 and its a tier 3. Tried that and failed, had to build a D3 and a BRel before the D4 to do armadas and hostiles. But today with all the extra buildings that gives ship strength plus isolytic damage and strong officers it could work. Still need faction ships for Borg solos though. Skip the faction miners for faster growth until ops 40.

The FranklinA is good for gathering Mycelium, Xindi scraps, and swarm modules. Jayla as Captain with 5 of 11, and a third with impulse speed.
