However, this video coming out early does NOT mean my strategy of waiting until the end of the month to spend your currency has changed! With Star Trek Fleet Command adding in a lot of new items it just seemed important to talk to players what had value and what they should work on saving for.

Rev, I agree with the statement " drop the prices" Scopely is too freaking greedy and the items you pointed out...180.00 US is seriously ridiculous

Why can’t they add a drydock to event store like fleet commander slot I’ve got 6 at ops 59 and I refuse to buy a drydock
Long past due. We were told they'd add a free to play path YEARS ago.
They might consider that in a year or two. I know it took awhile for the additional dock to be added.

Because that is the most valuable pack for players to pay, which means they can get more money from it. suggest just buying those packs instead if u need an extra drydock and research . treat it as a payer exclusive item
A drydock slot or building/research slot would be nice they've been out how long....... The main thing as you say older stuff in the event store needs to lower for sure no question we aint gonna spend the cost to get something thats 2-4 years old thst we would to get something a year old think about it scopley make some money instead of none better business is always good business

Loot has been so low I'm starting to wonder if anything will be left over after the whip. Scopley seems to be being pretty stingy.
I've said it a few times before on your vids and i say it today. I used to really look forward to the end of arc stores, I felt like I could catch up and also work towards ships and officers and really just get a great morale boost to the game. Now I really don't care as much as i used to, the prices are still way too high vs how they used to be. We are putting in the work to get very little. They are constantly pumping out new officers and ships and the sourcing is horrible, either a large rng pool with 1 or 2 bps per officer, or 200 bps per ship and it trickles in via a daily pull. Somethings gotta give, I totally understand this is a company that needs to make money, but they hardly give anything to the player to thank or incentivize them to keep on playing, and this type of event should be just that.
100% agree. with the lower monthly event store currency the prices need to drop down. It's not a catchup mechanic if it takes you anywhere from a quarter to half a year to unlock a cloak or a refit. An event store used to let people unlock multiple refits/cloaks or even max out rare officers. That's not happening anymore. I know scopely will make the argument that the event stores are more frequent now and my counter argument to that is, yes, and with players moving up in ops faster, they'll need things a lot faster or they'll be severely underpowered.
As someone who's finally finishing the assimilated amalgam skin in this event store, prices on the old stuff do need to come down. It only took 3 event stores to spare the currency for it.

I haven't had cloaking for a war ship since the legionary. Amalgam was last cloak I got.
I grabbed my 2nd Feesha Warp Interlock and now I'm focused on the Vindicator.
I think the Vindicator is good even for people who do play arenas (especially if you only manage a couple a week) - you need to do a lot of arenas to be able to get the ship, and getting it can easily price you out of ship BP efficiency and a bunch of the other good stuff in the Terran store.
Absolutely! I am barely able to join armadas at all... Absurd anyway how a PvE ship can only be sourced in PvP, and after Rev told us it wouldnt be the case...
they still need a way to trade old ship shards for new/other ship shards you need. I have thousands of ship shards that I won't use or build with .

that 200k event store pack is a limit 1, you need to then get the 120k packs, so they are actually saying that cloak is worth around $225.

If you go to 40,. you no longer need a second stella, the Mirror claim for 1 max stella is as much as a full Stella scrap every week which is normally fast enough for most people

I think they have something against lowering prices. I would actually buy some of these older primes that aren't really that good anymore if they were only like 20 bucks. But they insist on keeping them at 99.99 so I keep my wallet shut.

New g5 player so this event store is really good for me. My order is whip, nsea, vindicator. Would like them to reduce prices on older content, not just in the event store. They really need a schedule of content cost bring reduced over time.

How about asking them to remove the ops lock on the store for everything but the Faction ships? What is better for catching up than being able to do something like build your Voyager, defiant, Mantis, and Monaveen when you hit shipyard 35 because you got them in event stores rather than hitting 35 and having to spend another 6 months mismatched to get enough to build the ships instead of starting the loop from day1. If you are not discouraged from the grind you are more likely to progress and that 6 months per ship is a lot of time saved if you can get the prints from the event store.
I ask EVERY event store for the ability to get a second majalan power core for my second mantis. You cannot buy one in the store. You cannot grind one anywhere. I (have buyers regret) bout the mantis when it first can out and then grinder a second one. Except now I can’t tier up the 2nd mantis past tier one. Feel I got screwed on the ship; and screwed a second time because I can’t tier it up. And I ask every event store. And get the ‘suck it’ answer.
We always get screwed on having a second ship. Been looking for parts forever. Never in store.
Agree regarding the CLOAK refit. Its far 2expensive in all sourcing options. Havent had Cloak since Augur and Im building D'Deridex today. Regarding the Whip Im not getting that since I haven't been mining Lat since the Ex-Borg store opened and there is no need at least not for me.
Finally a decent event store. Besides the FC slot last year offered me nothing.
Sadly they didn't add more and didn't change all the ridiculous prices for less useful stuff. But I'm happy with what we got. Probably could last 2 eventstores with these additions (in other words, we still need more😉)
I’ve never understood the outrageous amount of event currency asked for simply cosmetic items. While cosmetics can be entertaining, I would never spend that kind of money or equivalent event currency for something that has zero impact on my gameplay.
Enough people must buy it anyway. And then there are people like me and you who still aren't going to buy it even if it was 10% what it costs now. So it probably works out better for them this way
I would argue that unless the ship is the Amalgum, cloaking is basically useless and wouldn't waste a single resource on one for any ship
Whip and Dolomite Purrticles are meowst likely the best this month. :)

Agree 100%. It's similar to depreciation. A 0 miles 2020 Toyota Corolla would not sell for the same price as a new 2025 Corolla, because it's no longer the latest technology/model/etc. Same with ships and skins in STFC.

I do think that scopley won't reduce prices because all those big spenders who have multiple accounts, are still spending on every account, and so when they go back to start game again and spend their money, scopley still want them spending $100 on a single pack.
But ultimately I do agree, older content now needs reducing in price, as it's not a magnet to New players who come the game and see a decent low level ship costing $200 but yet you can go on STO and an old decent ship will cost around $60. But yes infinitely more complex game than STFC.

I'm disappointed for not seeing fleet commanders in the event store. That would have been one of my first choices.
I'm going for wipe and tank ship as always at work when areana is on.
Agree with the cloak cost it’s absurd.
If they made it too cheap it would devalue it to the point that it becomes another mandatory prep step.
@@ickyconcrete5370 the fact you can get them with faction credits now kind of makes them already another mandatory prep step, so why not make it an affordable one.
Other than Romi or Tuvok, i was trying to figure out what else to get... I got the FC Slot the first time they did it. So You sold me on the Vindy. I already have half of it anyway. Thx!
That said, Id love to unlock a few of those cloaks or the Enterprise-A TOS Skin, but as you said... WAAYYY TOO EXPENSIVE! They need to give us more currency AND lower the cost.

i quit the game at ops 47 just after the Galaxy Quest arc, and decided to check back with this video. thank you for confirming my choice of quitting. it very much looks like the grind to stay current and competitive has continued to get worse. I have a full time job and don't need another one in a game to stay current lol
Its good that they added new stuff to the store such as the whip, they need to lower prices of older stuff such as skins and cloaks. As a g6 player, I'm going to unlock the rare officers then focus on getting specialty ship parts such as NSEA and Gorn ship. I don't know why they have such a slow limit, but those ships take a year to get them to a high tier to match my ops. Can you ask if Scopely would add vindicator parts to the store?
So no officers this event store. First time I can recall. Usually they allow at least 1 or 2 non-PvP officers to live in the officer group. Sad. This explains the survey they just sent which can be summarized: "why arent you buying the new ship?" Prices need to fall on the 4 year old items!

Remeber when they used to put out a £20 pack with new ships in so everyone could afford to buy it on release day lol
This isn't related to the event store, but you brought up cloaking and lore friendliness, and if anyone can get this changed, it's you Rev. They just need to call the "cloaking" ability "three dimensional thinking" for federation ships. Same currency, same cost, same benefit, just change the wording a bit 😊
what is the number of fc slot u can have total?
For years I asked for a way to source disco skin... And now that lorca is in transporter and i dont need it anymore they put it in 😅

I added another Feesha but 30k for the warp interlock is absurd. I think 5k or maybe 10k would be fair.
Not going to spend any currency until event is over. Like to get the Whip and either the NSEA or Vindicator. Got about half of the blueprints for each ship now.
Any idea if the rare ticket events will have event store currency?
There’s a lot of nice stuff in this one buuuut I’m a 29 and for some reason I have only had 3 events with 9000 currency. Usually it’s more than that
Because the current arc is 42+ they have elected to simply remove events rather than create alternative scoring. It's really sad and part of the reason that I have started to ignore my most recent account. First time I logged into it was yesterday for this ARC.

hoping if they drop prices, they refund prices of things they discount. was told the ferengi whip was a must get, so i started already dumping the event currency into it, up to 90/150 from 0 so far, not gonna spend another event currency till we find out if your pleas actually have any effect

As for cloaking - is it even still used? I rarely see anyone cloaking in my server. I can't remember when I used it for the last time. That mechanic - well it wasn't appealing in the first place and now looks completely dated.
Cloaking is just for the daily to make cloaking better. The only use for it now is cloak and score points in a territory takeover.
I´m lvl 38 player, why the FC slot does not show to me for exchange?
If you got it in a previous store or bought the first one you will not get it in the store again.
@@nickm9102 Neither of those. In the previous opportunity, Scopely did a mess with the exchange currency (giving not enough coins to get the FC slot) and by the time they fixed it, I had already got something else.
I am level 53 and there is no Vindicator blueprints to get in my event shop.

I think event & tc stores should remove lvl locks , I mean to get BP of ships 1 week most all ships need 150-200 min / 52 weeks a year THATS 4years to get 1 ship after you get to that lvl
Weird, I'm lvl 40 and I don't have a FC tab in the event store. The Ferengi whip will take 300k to unlock. Will F2P players be able to earn that much this arc to get it?
Wow bro. Whip is 150 shards to unlock. Event store 10 shards for 10k tokens. 150 divided by 10 is 15,10K times 15 is 150k. So you will need 150k event tokens to unlock it. I’m ops 42 so unless they are charging two ops lower double the price your math is wrong 😊
@@Gchild-mos0311I could see them doing that. My Ops 24 and 32 accounts don't have the option. (probably tied to having the Fesha in the first place,) If it was available I would definitely go for it. I understand not having the faction ships until a certain level but let me get the whip at Ops 24, or collect the prints to build a Voyager when I reach 35 shipyard.
They want people to progress quickly to push new content but they tell you the truth when they level lock access to something that is already level locked to build and level locked to upgrade.
Do you want people to progress Scopley? You gave me a cube that I can't build for 4 more Ops levels what a year ago. Did it end the game? NO, so what are the odds that being able to get the Voyager, defiant, Mantis, or even the Stella prints before I can build them will end the game? I'm going to guess it won't.

It's sad, they've based most of this arcs content behind a ship which, might be nice to have, but even for the heavy spenders, isn't worth buying. It's like having a ship locked behind a broken mechanic...

I am a little upset I will have to spend event store currency on the vindicator because arenas are so unreliable. That the terren faction that I think is great is already dead content.
Nothing is worth Scopely prices.
