As a guitar geek I feel so late to the Party on this guy. I'm in my 40's ,and kinda stopped searching for original guitar players after a while. Everyone was either fusion or Prog/shredd plus the occasional Eric Johnson or Blue Saraceno alike but this guy(Tim) is akin to first hearing Jason Becker ,or Steve Vai. Greg Howe even Al Di Meola discovered Tim ,and Yvette Young within 6 months of each other. A new day/Dawn even for Guitar is here. Everyone in my generation has bitched about music these day Guitarist's more than most though. Thanks for proving them wrong ,and with a big FU to my never ending bitch fest of a generation. I've fawned enough. I don't see too many old school guitar heads in the mention's ,and that saddens me. To be fair it might be because you scare the shit out of them with your playing. LOL P.S. I Realize I left out a lot of great player's if I had included all of them this would never end.
for some it's also just the music itself. i've been playing for 20+ years and know most of the important players, always on the search for something fresh. This is undoubtedly fresh and extremely interesting. I just don't find the music as such really to my liking. I still listen to them every once in a while but it's usually the video playthroughs, just to get my brain melted with some godly technique and interesting music/note choices. but i'd never put this on when having some time for myself and trying to listen to something i truly enjoy. it just doesn't take me on some voyage and I think that's why a lot of the older guitar players don't like polyphia or bitch about them. it just sounds like a technique showcase most of the time for a lot of people and those people could be just as right as those arguing against it. it's just generally hard with all that technique stuff in there to have a "good" song that takes you somewhere with memorable moments that stand out. i don't blame them, there is always a balance with technique and songwriting. add on top of all that their very unique style of music and i don't wonder why it's hard for a lot of folks to get into this.
I'm a total old-school rock/blues guitarist and I thought I'd seen it all as well. Then came across Tim. Holy shit, it was the feeling I had when hearing Eddie for the first time. Where you just think, that's not actually guitar. There's a trick going on or something. But in reality it's just amazing and highly creative guitar playing. Unbelievable!
The fact tim Henson can match Shawn lanes robotic speed AND clarity in every note......WHILE MATCHING every top level fingerstyle player earns him my vote for top dog atm
So good to finally hear a young guitarist playing something new and not another shred fest,I'm sure he plays acoustic with alternate timings and 2 handed percussive techniques
Timmy definitely has acoustics but I haven't seen him do any 2 handed percussive stuff. While he was raised on a lot of shreddy stuff right now hes trying to make essentially pop/hip hop music but with great instrumentation.

I still come back to this masterpiece weekly. 🖤
LOL
It’s just 50 seconds for the whole song, but I have to practice more than 50 days to be able to play this!!!
Man he is just genius man he'll be a legend
The fact tim Henson can match Shawn lanes robotic speed AND clarity in every note......WHILE MATCHING every top level fingerstyle player earns him my vote for top dog atm
So good to finally hear a young guitarist playing something new and not another shred fest,I'm sure he plays acoustic with alternate timings and 2 handed percussive techniques
Timmy definitely has acoustics but I haven't seen him do any 2 handed percussive stuff. While he was raised on a lot of shreddy stuff right now hes trying to make essentially pop/hip hop music but with great instrumentation.
Do you mean like this?

This is so incredibly well produced compared to every other shredder lmao.
That last bit literally sounds like a voice
How is it that this fiercely hits my soul yet doesn’t have any vocals! It’s so beautiful!
Please make a song out of this, it's waaay too good

Loop it lol. Right-click on the vid, if you’re on a computer.
Came here after seeing Scottie's amazing part in Shred Collab IV
I replayed that shit so many times
I've been watching this a hundred times already, and everytime I think, the level of musicianship on this is insane. How can you even write something like this? I mean, listen to the details on this thing, it's genius
This is absolutely unbelievable-literally ear porn.
Imagine if musicians were called Ear Pornstars
