What is really cool about Windows 10 free upgrade from Windows 7 is that is lets you keep and save all of your APPs and Personal data you had installed in Windows 7. This means you don't need to re-install apps programs like MS Office for example. No need to look for the media install disc. Now I really like that!
A Final Note: Just thought this was good information for people to know:
You should always have your existing Windows product key handy just in case you ever need it. Microsoft is doing something entirely different with Windows 10. It's called a hardware hash that is sent to Microsoft servers & than a certificate is created to validate your systems activation status. Be sure to Upgrade your existing Windows 7sp1 and 8.1 systems to Windows 10 first before doing a clean install.
End of life for Windows 7 is Jan 14, 2020. It's smart to upgrade to Windows 10.

Like wow, this is actually helpful. I just updated my trashy computer to Windows 10. It also gained 100 GB more ROM. It is safe, no data will be lost (optional). Nice tutorial btw, i can never thank you enough

Wow it still works to this day, I used to run Windows 7 but since they’re shutting that down this really helped me a lot with the free windows 10 update. I also has the serial number from the disk so it didn’t ask me anything about any numbers put down

There are a few reasons that you might get this problem and there are steps you can take to attempt to fix this issue. Here are some suggestions 1) Google using keywords: no bootable device after windows 10 upgrade 2) Suggest checking out the steps that are presented at this website: windowsreport.com/no-boot-device-available/

Hey, i used to be like that too. If are you using Win 7 because it's more Classic and looks more Compatible with some games it's wrong! I just figure out that Win 10 is more compatible with apps and it can upgrade your DirectX to DX 12 (while Win 7 can only be updated to DX 11).
Also the Performance of Win 10 is Faster than Win 7.
aaaaand more customizable.
I did the upgrade a day-and-a-half ago. I am gradually getting used to it. It seems more stable with web browsers. Also I noticed that Far Cry 4 (which I am currently playing) loads in half the time......Therefor I am coming around to Win 10.........It is possible to install a mod called 'Classic Shell' which brings back the appearance of Win 7. .......The downsides are many for Win 10 for me though. Like I had to google to find 'snipping tool'. I do not see the point of there not being an accessories folder. How can we look to see what we have? Or, I would rather not have to type in Cortana to bring Wordpad up. That aspect is ugly, as is the new settings 'Control Panel.....Thank you for writing though.

Buy windows 10 CD or windows 8.1 this is a pirated windows 10 that will bring to you problems if you buy a cd it will cost you 27$ USD on amazon or maybe more

Try a different time of day. 5) I've had a Windows 10 upgrade stop because the Graphics driver needed to be updated to the latest version first before performing the Win 10 upgrade.

You sir, helped me so very much. Like others, I watched on an old version of 7 and am replying on an updated and activated windows 10. It also saved everything. I only had to re-adjust my sound settings because I am using voicemeeter bannana which is a totally different type of deal. All went great and in less than 1.5hrs. Thanks again my friend.

21/04/2020 and it is still working, first tried installing windows 8 from disk on lenovo think pad T430, because i didn't know the procedure and on fresh windows 8 pro with out any other updates it jumped to windows 10 no questions asked,no product key needed. It took around 1.5 h for entire instalation.
