EMG 81/60 vs EMG 81x/60x Comparison

This is a quick demonstration and comparison of the EMG 81/60 set versus the EMG 81x/60x set. The signal goes as follows. ESP EC-401 to a TC Electronics Mimiq Pedal to a Focusrite 2i4 interface recording to Studio One 4 running Neural DSP Fortin NTS Plugin with a Jens Cab Impulse. Make sure you guys read diagram that comes with it. The wireless kit has you adding a 9v i to the tone knob and from tone knob to volume knob and then that goes into the jack it has you swapping the tone knob and volume knob wiring t

Thanks for doing this review, I've been debating for a month whether to get these pickups or not. The only EMG's I've ever bought were the ones that came in the guitar, and I was very hesitant to buy them separately. I'm a big fan of Seymour Duncan Blackouts, but have been wanting some more variety and something a little brighter, and the X series seems to be a nice middle ground between the Blackouts and regular EMG's. I really want to get the gold ones, but they're hard to find online!

Can't wait to install this set in black brushed chrome into my Ibanez GRG121. I've always loved the EMG 60's clean sound.
I see that you also only use one volume knob. I'm going to be doing the same thing, and replacing the tone pot with an EMG After Burner whenever that comes in the mail. Won't need a boost pedal and I can keep a chorus in the effects loop for cleans
