  • This is the first time I’ve ever used a small diesel engine to power a tow behind log splitter, It took some work but it turned out great. it works perfectly even at an idle in the video clip I show it running at an idle hope you like it.

    Just built one myself. Dumped off the old 5hp Briggs POS and bolted up the 3hp 168f diesel. It’s loud but man is it stout and starts so good!

    What coupler did you use? Is the keyed shaft on the engine 2cm?

      I just used the Oem coupler which is a love joy coupler that came with the log splitter. I had to file open the shaft a little bit so that the key would fit and I had to file 1mm off the crankshaft so the love joy coupler would fit the shaft.
