- WW1 and WW2 changed everything, so how would the world look if WW1 never happend!?
The best way to find out is by exploring Hearts of Iron 4 mods and today we are going to be visiting the newest HOI4 mod, Age of Imperialism!
Age of Imperialism is a mod for Hearts of Iron IV where WW1 didn't end up happening meaning WW2 never did either.
The global geopolitics is dominated by imperailists such as Germany, Russia and the UK.
This game also has a different start date for HOI4, beginning in 1931.
Will the world of imperialism stay alive or will someone break the status quo of this HOI4 Mod!?
Well that's what Tommy is here to find out in yet another episode of the Hearts of Iron 4 Mod Review series, starting with Japan and Austria!

I think that the thing tommy don't understand is that he is not the only one who gets the bonuses in the focus tree, other countries (If that country choose the broken path) gets the bonuses too.

Well yeah but making everyone broken is way harder to balance
Especially for AIs
Yeah it trys to go for the balance style that the original modern warfare 2 had were if everything is overpowered nothing is overpowered but it just doesn't work as the AI doesn't know how to effectively use the buffs
True but most of the time the ai doesn’t take advantage of these bonusses. Meanwhile the player can properly take advantage and crush the AI because they actually use their bonusses

Age of Imperialism has a serious balancing problem. I've seen people describe the mod being similar to Kaiserredux, which is notoriously bad with game balance. A few weeks ago I played a campaign as France in AoI, and I was essentially unstoppable before the major European war even began. I essentially sat around for several hours knowing I would win regardless in the end, without any real challenges to deal with.

I think Hoi4 in general just doesn't have a very good ai. When you put AI on veteran, they don't actually get smarter they just geta bunch of buffs

I call it Wills of Iron. Its like HOI4 but the map is randomly generated and the nations are blank templates to essentially expand and create your own history. A focus tree designer can be created that uses PP.

I think Red Flood does the “Hitler taking over Austria” concept better.
Pdox keeps messing with AI by goofing with things every hot"fix" and not having a couple of the newer DLC can wildly impact a number of bonuses/nerfs. But yeah the PP needs a touch of a nerf for sure. 25-33% seems fine.

You haven't played the mod, I see, it misses south tyrol because, I assume, the war they had with russia that fragmented the empire and trieste in a nation at the start but gets a coup and is annexed into italy and that causes the diplomatic crisis that sends the Italian king to Austria just to get assasinated.

Every country with focus tree gets an nice bonuses, its not kaiserreich where 3 years and you still have no army, less then 15 civilian factories, etc. When every country is op, no one is op. If you want challange do a multiplayer game where i dont know half of the players would be in one faction and other half in another, i wounder if then will you complain about everything being too easy
Also Kr Balance isn’t exactly good at all, is very railroaded towards some outcomes making some paths simply OP (Bulgaria) while the rest struggles

What does tommy said in German , like “alto” or smth. What does it mean?
He says "Alter" at least that is to my knowledge how it should be spelled. It means something like dude when you translate it but I am not German so take this with a grain of salt. It is a East German thing or just a german thing like how English speakers say dude, Mate or equivalents.

Modern banks make money by investing other people's money, if they did not do this, then instead of the bank paying you to have money in the bank, you would pay the bank to have your money protected.
I mean that's business but 1 wrong investment and the bank loses the money and then you'll be broke
@@henkschrader4513 Banks have so much money that they would need a massive investment to land flat, and even after that modern banks are very much funded by the government, for any large bank in the modern day (at least in the us) to go bankrupt would require the government to go bankrupt.
@@magicboxhead9448 i know and agree to a point... idk how old you are but do you remember the 2009 recession, well it started with a few banks that made a really bad investment in the housing market in the US and those particular banks didn't have the money for a few year to get a FEW rich people their money back all of it... but this stayed in the US for a few months until the domino effect brought it all over the world... hard to imagine btw no that we have a way bigger recession now and in the near future then in 2009, we're on our way to a new great depression if there goes on more thing wrong in that case a lot of people even in the US and the rich European are gonna starve... but who knows it could be that we had evey crisis and that we're on our way recovery but I'm doubtful with a very big war again in europe and many other potential wars, fascism and nazisme is growing in a lot of western countries and communism also grows in certain countries... in the US both are growing eich means a potential Civil war the likes we've never seen before with possibly millions of deaths and either a facist or nazi takeover or communists with the help of Russia and China. But i know i think too far ahead

@tommykay I just wanted to request that in any future multiplayer games your refrain from giving any exposure to "grisha". It's been a long time since I have heard him mentioned on your channel and I should like you to keep it that way, having just looked him up out of curiosity I was shocked to find a Z on his shoulder ranting about Russian supremacy. This is just a heads up for the future should you create another large scale tournament. Platforming these sort of people is really not a good thing and I dont think this channel is one that would want that.
