Sorely tempted to build the first pilot version. I love pretty much any iteration of her, but I've had a soft spot in my heart for those needle-tipped Bussard Collectors since around 1966.
TrekWorks Unfortunately, I can barely handle a wrench and screwdriver (LOL). I do pretty well with weaving & machine knitting, however, I so value your skill & talent in putting together these stunning Enterprise models.
In the 60's they also had a kit with lights that used the deflector to switch them on and off. I used too much glue at the base of the engines which melted the plastic and failed to support their weight. Looks like you have had far more success than I... a really great job!
Stunning! I'm trying my hand at the TOS Romulan Bird of Prey and your videos have been an inspiration. Thank you for all of the information you've shared.
as usual Mr Boyd excellent excellent excellent model of the old TV version enterprise no I would love to get an update on orbital dry dock for our Aztec penny masks if they're coming back online because we have been waiting buddy.. and thank you much for getting back to us with that update signed CAPT. Emmett.
Wow..... I really love that model tremendously... you did a fine job on it... The 1701 and 1701A has always been my favorite ship, next the 1701D perfect :-)
Really nice model. The lighting makes it perfect. Does anyone know if they ever made an enterprise D in this scale? I've been looking for a larger model but can't seem to find it.
Interested in having you make one of these for myself. If you are up to it, I’m sure you get tons of requests but the quality and care you put into is fantastic, something that I could not do myself
Another outstanding job on our favorite constitution class starship Boyd! I believe their were 12 in this class, so all you need to do is build 5 more. ;-)
Have you ever made a TOS Connie that lit the ship name and number on the hull and nacelles? I’ve seen some people do it in CGI and thought it looked interesting.
Boyd, i see you rotate the enterpeise around and around while showing it off. My queation is. i do the same things on Trek#2 build. Am i twisting the wires inside? thank you. Robert Kennedy
That's beautiful, if you took what you bought it for, and professionally billed all the time you put into it, what would be price to purchase it finished on the open market?
Really nice Boyd, I remember as a kid when Star Trek came out, I was just amazed by the design and concept of everything on the show. The technology we have today must have been influenced by this shows amazing creativity from those working on the show - the designers artists and technical guys. I had this model as a 10 year old and my great Uncle John and I tried to build it. Fantastic to see the craftsmanship you reflect. Ps I also love the Seaview and Spindrift model, flying sub etc How long to build and how much to buy and ship to Australia?
+Lakedog The flashing navigation lights and the spinning engine effects are controlled by a micro processor board which is available at www.tenacontrols.com
Great job, Boyd. Q: Why did you go with the super clean version vs the more marked up, lined version we have seen in the more recent "Ships of the Line" type of pictures? A tribute to the original classic?
+Matthew Hall This one is built to look like the original as it appeared to me on the TV screen during the original series. Not the remastered CGI version.
+Mark Pullen They are 1:350 scale Japanese Navy figures made by FUJIMI. The set is called IJN seamen in working cloths. I get them at Hobbylink USA for about $20 bucks. The box art shows them wearing hats but they are not. They come in various seated and standing positions and once you paint them in the Starfleet uniform colors they look great.
The kit is notorious for the tight fitting shuttlebay. I usually remove some of the plastic around it on the inside walls of the hull to make it fit and not have a huge gap at the rear.
yea that's what I thought...gave up on the shuttle bay display and just mounted the lights and floor...even the light above the door was disappointing...too much cutting for such a small piece . This kit really is not all that user friendly.
Im a big fan of your model work and want to know how I can commission you to build a 1/350 Enterprise refit and the Revell Into Darkness Enterprise please get back to me thanks
I do a combination of using Tenacontrols circuit boards for the blinking lights and engine lighting effects. The rest of the internal lighting I do myself using LED strip lighting, individual LED"s and SMD's.
the reissue with the smooth surface saucer is around 110-140 bucks...the other is considered a collectors item with the constructive grid lines on the saucer is around 350 on up....they are both the same model
Beautiful work. Why did you install the bridge at an angle. That is not canon. Franz Joseph was wrong. Look at the first 30 seconds of the very first show, "The Cage" and you will see the doors are off angle from the shaft not the bridge. Franz Joseph's drawings are very different from the original 9 foot model. He basically drew a space hotel.
@Patrick Farmer - I would say the producers got it wrong. Watch the opening of The Cage carefully, and you will see that there is an obvious shaft directly behind the exterior bridge dome, and there is _nothing_ on the exterior to accommodate the turbolift that people can be seen entering in that shot. Obviously the placement of the turbolift on the bridge set was to allow the composition of shots that would allow the audience to see both the captain and whoever was entering/exiting the bridge simultaneously, but by setting it up that way, they "broke" the established exterior design of the ship.
Absolutely amazing. You're work on this is incredible. What a beautiful model of an iconic ship. Wonderful.
Sorely tempted to build the first pilot version. I love pretty much any iteration of her, but I've had a soft spot in my heart for those needle-tipped Bussard Collectors since around 1966.
One of the best builds that i have seen of this kit!
No one builds the TOS Enterprise better than you Boyd! Amazing!!!
Guys, I just want you to know we ladies appreciate this beautiful work as well!! I was a young mother when watching the original Star Trek.
+Kelley Thanks Kelley, too bad that more women don't find this hobby interesting. I've seen some beautiful models built by the ladies.
TrekWorks
Unfortunately, I can barely handle a wrench and screwdriver (LOL). I do pretty well with weaving & machine knitting, however, I so value your skill & talent in putting together these stunning Enterprise models.
Holy wow that is the most impressive thing I have ever seen. Great work.
You did a beautiful job I am so impressed and inspired to do mine I want to thank you very much!
In the 60's they also had a kit with lights that used the deflector to switch them on and off. I used too much glue at the base of the engines which melted the plastic and failed to support their weight. Looks like you have had far more success than I... a really great job!
Absolutely fabulous, brilliant craftsmanship, looks amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Looks Great Boyd! Your client will be very happy.
+Jim Clarke Thanks Jim :)
Stunning! I'm trying my hand at the TOS Romulan Bird of Prey and your videos have been an inspiration. Thank you for all of the information you've shared.
Amazing job. I particularly like the low-level lighting environment which bring a nice movie theater feeling to it.
Another work of art Boyd!!
That is truly beautiful! Fantastic work, sir. The shuttle bay in the dark looks amazing.
Top notch work as usual Boyd! Your client is going to love it!
That,s a great looking ship Boyd, your the Master at building these!
Absolutely beautiful job Boyd. I'm totally impressed, as usual.
Flipping gorgeous!
as usual Mr Boyd excellent excellent excellent model of the old TV version enterprise no I would love to get an update on orbital dry dock for our Aztec penny masks if they're coming back online because we have been waiting buddy.. and thank you much for getting back to us with that update signed CAPT. +EMMETT ROWE Thanks Emmett, I believe that Orbital Drydock has said he will be back in business by the end of this month.
wow gorgeous
Absolutely beautiful !
Do you have a public link to what the paint mix you use for this is? And the 1701-A?
Wow..... I really love that model tremendously... you did a fine job on it... The 1701 and 1701A has always been my favorite ship, next the 1701D perfect :-)
+Thomas Pickett (Thomasp671) I built The D awhile back here is the video ruclips.net/video/3U-XvGIdo9E/видео.html
Great work Boyd on lucky number 7.
Really nice model. The lighting makes it perfect. Does anyone know if they ever made an enterprise D in this scale? I've been looking for a larger model but can't seem to find it.
Impressive work!
I would buy this. Love the original enterprise
Awesome!! Yet another reason to have you work on the 11 footer!!
Interested in having you make one of these for myself. If you are up to it, I’m sure you get tons of requests but the quality and care you put into is fantastic, something that I could not do myself
Do you still make this models?
How big and how much does it cost to make them?
Is beautiful!
Amazing work!
Another outstanding job on our favorite constitution class starship Boyd! I believe their were 12 in this class, so all you need to do is build 5 more. ;-)
Beautiful! How much to fully construct?
another sweet TOS!
Where can I find the silent spinning Bushards for the Nacelle Engines!
Have you ever made a TOS Connie that lit the ship name and number on the hull and nacelles? I’ve seen some people do it in CGI and thought it looked interesting.
This is very cool. How do I get one built for me?
Boyd, i see you rotate the enterpeise around and around while showing it off. My queation is. i do the same things on Trek#2 build. Am i twisting the wires inside? thank you. Robert Kennedy
With the risk of sounding crass...how much? I want one. Amazing quality and craftsmanship sir. Jeez louise....
Where does one find the three dimensional characters to put on the bridge and other refit assemblies?
well thanks a lot buddy for that update I truly hope orbital dried up those come back online because Candice Enterprise without the Aztec face masks
That's beautiful, if you took what you bought it for, and professionally billed all the time you put into it, what would be price to purchase it finished on the open market?
Very nice 😊
Crazy good.
Great job!
I am in San Antonio also by the way.
damn good job man, that looks great!
This is nice work! How much time did it take? We need one of these you see
Really nice Boyd, I remember as a kid when Star Trek came out, I was just amazed by the design and concept of everything on the show. Looks great Boyd. I've got 21,22,23,24 on the bench now. Are those Tenacontrol bussard LED's? not the motors right?
+James Guard Yep, they are the Tenacontrols units. No noisy motors that can fail later down the road.
Nice Job - TOS USS Enterprise - the Best :)
Does the electrical come with the kit? Awesome build
...I love this.
What do you charge to build these?
I would like one to!
So would I. Very impressive
fantastic
Amazing!
what do you charge for this incredible model? Sounds like you make them for clients.
Where do you get your electronics for the led's? Very nice detail!
+Lakedog The flashing navigation lights and the spinning engine effects are controlled by a micro processor
board which is available at www.tenacontrols.com
Bravo!
Fantastic Work Captain Boyd!^^btw is there a way to Change this Kit into the Phase 2 "E"?
+Lee78072 It could be done but it would be a lot of work.
+TrekWorks Thanks - that is what I thought. Great / snazzy looking piece of work!!!!
Beautiful build as always build. Where do you get your 3D 1/350th scale figures please?
+Mark Pullen They are 1:350 scale Japanese Navy figures made by FUJIMI. The set is called IJN seamen in working cloths. I get them at Hobbylink USA for about $20 bucks. The box art shows them wearing hats but they are not.

Thanks Boyd.
What lighting kit did you use? How does it look like the engines are spinning so well?
"No bloody a , b, c OR d" ;)
did you have any problems with the shuttle bay fitting properly with the lights ....cold not get mine to fit
This kit really is not all that user friendly.

i have a question love your work by the way but when you said "for your client" does that mean you can build and people purchase?
Yes, I build these for clients on a pre order basis.
cool. how much is the starting price? again sorry if these questions are annoying hahah
TrekWorks how do I get an enterprise tos ncc1701 commissioned with lighting effects and what is the general cost? Thanks!
is it 350$ for to make one like this for me
How do you pre order ?
sold! how much?
How much ? I buy it now 😍
How much to buy one from you?
How can I buy this
Right by your tattoo power supply...nice
I can't believe Polar Lights screwed up and put grid lines on the primary hull. Otherwise a great job.
Did you build your lightning by yourself or did you use an official lightning kit?
I do a combination of using Tenacontrols circuit boards for the blinking lights and engine lighting effects. The rest of the internal lighting I do myself using LED strip lighting, individual LED"s and SMD's.
How much thus model cost? I am interested in buying one.
I would like to know this too!
What is the price to have get one
Yes I am also very interested to know what you charge.
how much is it to buy one of these
the reissue with the smooth surface saucer is around 110-140 bucks...the other is considered a collectors item with the constructive grid lines on the saucer is around 350 on up....they are both the same model

Ooh, I want one. Anybody got $10,000.00 I can borrow?
Why not just buy one for $200 from amazon?
