    My 98 heritage is by far the best bike I ever had. I absolutely love it and will never get rid of her. Big enough to tour but not as heavy or big as a road king. Plus I love how it looks similar to a hard tail but has a small amount of suspension

    A lot of people dont know how to use the choke on a Harley-Davidson. They dont know what the screw knob on the throttle is for. It was designed because people were complaining about fouling their spark plugs.
    The way it was supposed to work is that you pull the choke and start the bike pushing the choke in immediately, then you adjust the throttle for the bike to run at low rpm and then tighten the knob on the throttle untill the bike warms up then unscrew it when the bike is warm and will idle on it's own

    Just got back from a national road run with the AMCA. About 250 bikes. The oldest was a 1923 JD. I took my Panhead. Seems strange to me that the early evolution's are now considered antiques. I talked to a friend in Ontario about the insurance thing in BC. He lived in BC for a time years ago and said it's the only Provence that forces you to get insurance through the government. Keep the videos coming! I'm looking forward to the ones you do in the snowy season fixing and fabricating things.

    Your brother's bike is nice and looks even better with you riding it.
    But your shovelhead is all you.
    Your personality is in every part of your bike.
    Also, there's nothing wrong with having another bike that is comfortable on longer trips with fewer fuel stops.
    I have my 78 bobber/chopper and a 91 springer softtail, 92 electra glide ultra classic, and now I'm picking up an 82 flt this weekend.
    It's a good companion to the 78 shovelhead.
    Keep up the great videos, I'm already waiting for the next one.
    Oh, I almost forgot congratulations on 1st place at Shovelfest.
    Very well deserved 👏 👍 👌

    A old friend had a Heritage that he let me take for a spin. I did like the way she rode for sure. Then I had another friend who said they make for a great boat anchors. If I did have one though, I'd have to put hard bags on it. I'm with you about the softail frames. It makes for a fine handling and riding bike to me. I recently got a 92 Fatboy and she rides so sweet. Just like she rolled off the assembly line. When you have multiple bikes, it does seem like one gets ridden while the other sits in the corner lol. Loved the video and ride! Stay safe in your beautiful B.C.! Peace

    The fender wheel and tire, 1:12 , remind me of the ElectraGlide models of way back. Heritage name seems very appropriate for this well remembered classic. (Had a Harley dealership next door to where I worked, many years ago. Saw many styles of Harley's. (Chopped / modified, long front forks. The local P.D. had a few Three-Wheelers. I had problems starting the engine on my motorcycle only when it had 6 volt equipment (and this was only a problem because of an old, very old Soviet battery from a flashlight for miners, since it was high time for him to go to a well-deserved retirement. I was listening to you shift and kept thinking that clutch needed adjusting. I'd think it needs a little tweak, so it's engaging a bit sooner. ✌️Ont. 🍁 edit: don't apoligize for liking a button and a comfy ride. Almost all of us go through it. 40 yrs ago, at 22, I scoffed at 'old men' and their floorboards and windshields and comfortable seats. Now at 62, after yrs on rigid and old swingarm Shovels, my main ride is an Ultra. That's just part of getting older and it's a heck of a lot easier to ride 1400-1500km a day when I need to. 😊

    Your brother's got a great bike. I like hearing you down shifting as you're coming up to stop to assist in braking etc. I driver a standard vehicle the same way. Hate when people are doing 50 mph, let off the gas and sift to neutral, let out the clutch and eventually role to the stop. I don't put the trans in neutral when stopped either. It's in first when I'm stopped. I did notice you're giving too much clutch when changing gears. Bad timing between your clutch release and throttle. Let the clutch out then add throttle. You weren't use to it either.

    • @RedRiderCanadaBC
      @RedRiderCanadaBC  5 месяцев назад

      I always use my gears when slowing down. And the clutch on my bro's bike definitely needs to be adjusted! I was having trouble finding the engagement point because I had to release the clutch almost halfway before getting any grab at all... my clutch is a lot more responsive than that.

    Your brother has a very beautiful motorcycle. I do not know why you guys need this information, I am writing it just for the sake of having a comment 😂. Here is my procedure for starting the motorcycle: it is necessary to open two fuel taps (I installed two fuel taps so that there would be no jumper from the hose between the two halves of the tank from below). Then I raise the fuel "Обоготители- Concentrators" on the carburetors, fill the float chambers with gasoline with the help of "Утопители поплавков- Drowners". I turn on two toggle switches (turning on the entire mass and turning on the "Spark" supply. I hate ignition locks and keys that always get in the way in my pocket). I start the engine with a kick and lower the mixture concentrators so as not to "Fill" the candles and then I warm up the engine. Миру- мир!
