    Morning Phil, glad I discovered this vlog, I never knew this stuff existed, I will definitely be getting a roll to do our little porch from our living room to the front door, is it possible to get a smaller tub of the adhesive as I wouldn't need anything as big as the tub you needed or is there an alternative glue I can use?. Are you doing another vlog finishing off that room with wallpaper?.
    Keep up the great vlogs
    Many thanks Steve H

      There are plenty of videos I've done on lining with WallRock or reinforced lining paper.

    Hi Phil,
    My front wall under the bay window gets too cold in winter and mould aslo builts up. From your experience is this insulating lining paper graphite+ is good. Does it stop cold and mould?
    Can i paste it on the wall having standard matt emulsion paint and after pasting the lining paper can i paint matt emulsion paint to match the same colour as rest of the room or do i need to paste another lining paper ?

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  6 дней назад

      Follow my instructions for hanging it.. l AVE 48hrs before you hang the reinforced lining over it.
      If you suffer from mould... Look at using Zinsser PermaWhite or Glixtone paint,that will help for the mould.

      For best results, line over it with WallRock... Or like I did with Albany reinforced liningbaper. Then wallpaper as normal.

    Hi Phil, so I’ve now bought this thermaline graphite + and will be putting it up, you mention it doesn’t but up easy so on the verticals am I to fill these areas and caulk the edges? Also looking to cross line with 100mm fibre line after but concerned that you may see the verticals line from the thermaline - any ideas mate?
    Also and I should know this but where I put 1400 grade lining which has been removed would you say I need to Garda it for porosity purposes as the wall appears very porous and concerned it may draw in the paste causing it to fail when the thermaline is put up?

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  Месяц назад +1

      you can use the gardz to prime over the walls.. remember you'll be applying the paste to the wall anyway, so apply enough on... you're using the correct matching adhesive which is very good...
      when you fill the joints.. use a light weight tub filler like i use, it does fill the joints well.. caulk the corners like it did too.
      word of warning... don't use a blade to cut through the fibre lining, as you will cut into the insultating lining, which you don't want to do incase it comes away from the wall.
      mark with a pencil and cut neat with shears... if you cut too much and leaves a bigger gap.. fine skim them out before painting.
      ring me if you get stuck

    What’s the difference between this product and the wallrock thermal kv600? Is the quality similar as the price difference is quite big as they are both 4mm?

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  5 месяцев назад

      About £100 a roll difference... But you do get more on a roll.
      If you read the spec you'd think very similar in what they do.
      The kv600 seems to be aimed more at keeping warms in. Than keeping the cold out.
      If that can make sense.

    Don’t know why you ended up in my feed. Weird. I do watch some UK people but not related to painting. Wall paper seems to still be so popular in the UK. not so much in the US. And insulated paper for those older heat inefficient brick or stucco homes seems very helpful indeed. But the biggest takeaway here is how much you look like Ricky Gervais…Wow!

    THERE NO GETTING AWAY FROM IT. THIS DOES NOT CUT WITH NEAT SHARP EDGES.
    Tip for you based on your quote above. It does cut neat with sharp edges and can be trimmed to perfection if you hang it as a fragile 4mm thick polystyrene, non absorbent laminate and not try to hang it as a 0.35mm thick standard absorbent wallcovering that's 12 times thinner. A fragile 4mm polystyrene covering requires an entirely different hanging trimming and pasting method to one that is employed to hang standard thickness absorbent wallcoverings.
