Six algorithms spanning classic through to spatial, 128 presets with MIDI, 9 presets onboard, Swell control, Sustain/Latch, Stereo i/o, full MIDI capability, USB for FW updates, etc. The R1 is very full featured, very full sounding and very much fun! I love that you can modulate all of the reverbs too. Oh, and three types of bypass. Bliss! My video could have gone on forever but I've kept it as short as possible to try and cover the works. The pedal is a good one. If you're after reverberation, seek out the R1.
    Today's tools:
Guitar: 'Numbcaster' - a bitsa by me, Ben Bailey (pickups) and Ray Carlton.
Amp: Carol-Ann Triptik Clean model - Axe-FX III. (R1 is inserted post cab block for full fidelity)
    Cables: Providence and Boss
Power Supply: Eventide PowerMax by Cioks
    Mic: Samson Airline77 (me)
Camera: iPhone 11 Pro and Canon D60
Soundcard: PreSonus Quantum & Fractal Audio Systems Axe-FX III (guitar, mixing and bouncing).
Monitors: Blue Sky Media Desk 2.1
    Computer: 2017 Apple iMac Pro, 2.5 GHz 14-Core Intel Xeon W, 64 GB 2666 MHz DDR4, Radeon Pro Vega 64X 16 GB
Software: Logic Pro X, Apple Final Cut Pro X, Compressor.

Yes! I have the R1 pre-ordered and I have the mc8 as well. I love the idea of being able to turn on the swells with a foot switch! Thats going to be very useful!

@@Floppa-oz1kp I didn’t have it too long, but it was great when I did have it! Very versatile. Ended up switching to a fractal audio setup for my whole rig though

Mako series by Walrus is fantastic. This is definitely the one to own.

Sounds great...looks to be almost a direct competitor to Source Audio Collider, which I own, without the delay.
    Thanks Brett. 👍

Picked it up last week and love it. But that swell could be so valuable. They have to tame the swell.

Does the dry signal remain analog or is it also processed?

    • @chrisjs6123
      @chrisjs6123 3 года назад

It’s also processed. No dry through and it feels like crap. My one went straight back. I have the D1 and it’s fantastic but they really missed the mark on this one. The one cool function is the latch which is fantastic. Such a shame about the rest.

Was there really that much of a lag with the new programming effecting the sound when you changed preset using the Midi? I could see how lot's of people would find that problematic (I plan on remaining a loyal Ventris user, so it doesn't affect me.. but still curious).

I think I heard some lag there, could be tripping though

Do you think it's a Ventris killer? Trying to decide between the 2.

I've never tried a Ventris. Can't help, sorry.

I had a Ventris. I didn’t like it. I just picked the R1 up. I haven’t plugged it in yet because I’m waiting for my new amp to get here.

@@ratedepth it’s very brittle sounding. It’s ok. I sold mine.
