What I love about Andydemos intro’s are , they always give us a glimpse into what his albums or concerts could be. Its a piece of himself every time. 👍🤘
This is my fave demo of 2021 and of the last 6 months top !!!.....this a sounds like a $2000 rack unit or a studio pc of high tech gear!!!.....the timbre is so precise !!!!....
Andy your demos are the benchmark. I usually watch other guys demo then check them against yours as a sanity check. Really thorough, well explained and your playing is great man. Rock On!
Really nice reverb...with the additional punch of overdrive. The tune (fantastic) is quite haunting...and provides a certain timeless quality. Well played. You have great/informative videos/presentations...really appreciate the info and insights...and your playing!
I was thinking of replacing my reverb pedal by an Empress Reverb. Walrus made a serious option...but I have experimented that I was not able to make sound pedals like Andy. I have bought several of those he made demos for without the same results lol. Great demo.
I have all 4 Mako series pedals. R1 to date has been my least favorite but I think Andy demonstrates the problem is not with the pedal….😐 There is a learning curve for each of the Makos (M1 being the most complex) that can be aggravating and daunting, but the sound quality, versatility and small real estate requirements led me to persevere. I’m glad I did. The more I’m learning and the longer I use them, the more impressed I am. I have all 4 on one small board (Pedal Train Metro 20). Signal chain: Peterson StroboStomp mini tuner - Wampler Ratsbane - Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor - Digitech Mosaic 12-string emulator - Mooer E-lady mini flanger - Mr Black mini chorus - Mako M1 - Mako D1 - Mako R1 - Mako ACS1 - Boss RC-5 looper - Boss Go-Mixer Pro X. Two Strymon Ojai R30’s for power (one feeds into the other, so only a single power cord is needed). The Go-Mixer Pro X could be removed and one more pedal of choice subbed in (I need it for the headphone out and line in functions while traveling). This board sounds great and has a huge amount of variety. For those needing a mix of wide variety and yet (like me) who don’t like sub-menus, I’d strongly consider this series including the R1.
Andy you should be saying "Hey its Andy and here with ME are Reverb.com (or any of the other .com's you've worked with and been a supreme asset to over the years). I've bought several pedals and pickups over the years after having been sold on them once I saw your demo.
Hell I have been sold on far far more than I have been able to afford lol. This is coming from a guy who since the mid 90s has been really tired of the gear fetishism prevalent in the community . But Andy uses these devices in such a natural and awesome way it can't be denied .
I am very picky about reverbs! gone through several! I really like using the R1! it doesn't give you the prefect 'heard it all before' sounds :) but its full of personality! and creative options! I would say its a very high quality reverb for those who wants something a bit different!! and it just works well
Seems like the most intuitive (and honestly most useable, best sounding) multi-feature delay out there. $350 doesn't seem like that much money at all for all the features combined with ease of use that you get.
Sitting on the board=Neunaber immerse, GFI spectral v3... And the Slo...and hx stomp (new update has awesome reverbs!). Gonna have to ignore this one. At thiz point it's just a sickness... Need to stop watching gear reviews and use what I have 😁. Great video tho
@@LoVeAmBiEnT I have 2x Avalanche Run v2 and Specular Tempus. Sold Ventris. Would probably buy Slo Stereo in a heartbeat, same with Minim, would buy a Minim Stereo or Rever Stereo instantly... :)
I really like this guy's demos. I have the Walrus D1 delay and I'm really impressed so I'm really curious if this R1 is equally as good. I guess my only concern is it worth the money because reverb and delay can sound similar at times to me?
Yes. There are three banks of three presets. You can scroll through the three presets per bank by pressing both foot switches. Then switch to another bank and scroll through those presets.
That's my modern tribute to Neil Young's guitar which I call "New Black". It has a new Kahler and pickups are P90 and Firebird under HB covers. Thanks!
This is nice but the Ventris and RV-500 are the same price. The R1 is similar in sonic quality but has like half hte features in a more cumbersome interface
Best demo guy on the internet, only problem is he can make any pedal sound great
Yeah your comment is on point
He’s a dangerous man.. for my wallet.
Why doesn't it sound like this when I play!? lol...He's a bad dude.
Tied with mike hermans

i’m honestly thinking the same thing
Eh, all set with reverb.
[watches Andy demo this thing]
Okay, I need this reverb.
I should stop watching Andy demo stuff cause he always makes me want every god damn pedal!
Well it is his job after all
9:47 You wanted to give us the lick, we wanted the lick. Why didn't you finish the lick?

@@natemendsen1629 Exactly!
man that sustain feature is really amazing
That Twangmeister is deadly
I would buy an album of Andy noodling
Such an amazing player
Great pedal and good size to the pedalboard

Really hoping they make a mako for modulation!
I'm sure they're already working on it
Me to
Update: they have. The Mako m1
Walrus Audio: hey Chase Bliss can I use your homework?
Chase Bliss: yeah as long as you change the answers a little
...
When I saw "hi-fi stereo" I was hoping this was going to be modeled on one of those Sansui spring boxes with the laser front
He didn't say and first heres my clean tone at the beginning!
I noticed that the knob was set to BFR during the plate demo. An interesting reverb, I will need to check one out.
Bravo,lepa prezentacija😎
...however! where is the SLO 2.0 in stereo which I am waiting for? :)
Yeah that would be great!
Exactly. Almost want to buy another Slo to run in stereo

Have to chime on again. Check the Jet pedals revalations v2 ambient reverb. Amazing $225 or $275 w midi
Sounds cold
Where is the pedal made? What digital chip does it use? What is the AD/DA conversion bitrate/depth? How much of the signal is analog?
those bends at 9:34 dear lord
This dude has riffs for days
I do love a good stereo verb...
Brutal pedal

i am going to go broke if i keep seeing these pedal reviews lol
nice one !!
Please tell me what typ of Tremolo singlecut black Guitar you use in this Video.... man..I'm suching for this Guitar...Thanks for answer
Greco is life!
Anyone know what brand/make the guitar that he is using - the reddish/orange with the Tele type p'up switch? Thanks in advance !!
I think it’s a Nik Huber, a german luthier
@@alanmarino7236 Thanks Alan. A nice carve on that one. I will look them up.
Hey! Maybe I missed it, but does anyone know what the ABC switch does? Does it handle the onboard presets?
Yes. There are three banks of three presets. You can scroll through the three presets per bank by pressing both foot switches. Then switch to another bank and scroll through those presets.
What is that gorgeous red guitar?
Wondering the same. Can't quite read the headstock...
Found a clue in someone else's comment. Nik Huber Twamgmeister.
@@MusicFillsTheQuiet Thanks, too bad it's like 6,000 USD
What’s Andy’s guitar that looks like a Les Paul with a whammy?
Greco is the company- not sure the model. Looks like a P90 in the neck and not sure about the bridge.
That's my modern tribute to Neil Young's guitar which I call "New Black". It has a new Kahler and pickups are P90 and Firebird under HB covers. Thanks!
@@AndyDemos I would love to get one of those
what is that first tune?
Andy will you be my dad?
no man i got here first!
Screw you guys! He's gonna be my dad!
Looking for the most versatile Reverb (but mostly for shoegaze/post rock) should I go for this or the oceans 12?
This by far
The 12 has great features, but the fidelity and headroom aren't even close to the Walrus.
When are people going to demo the new Mu-Tron line? i don’t understand
Anyone experience some roll off of high frequencies when the pedal is engaged? Not on the reverb trails but rather on the guitar tone
Threw a like in there since it was on 666. I have one of these. I’m not sure if mine is faulty. When I play soft the reverb cuts out
How much reverb do you actually need??
Depends on the style; obviously, if you do Ambient, it's all about it; the Shoegaze isn't far behind.
This is nice but the Ventris and RV-500 are the same price. The R1 is similar in sonic quality but has like half hte features in a more cumbersome interface
But it's smaller so I'd still pick this
Greco lespaul!
$350.00 for a reverb pedal?
That unsettled me as well. Sad thing is that I haven't counted it out just yet.
It's on par with bigsky and others in that type of reverbs
Polara for the win.
Muy bueno pero me da la sensación que algo le falta a ese reverb.
666 insc
Not too impressed with the sound of this in all honesty, think the fathom is far more tasty musicaly
Fathom doesn't do just a clean unmodulated reverb though which is my gripe with it
I actually agree, At that price with only 6 algos, I rather go to Ventris by Source Audio (dual reverb) for a couple of more dollars
Two months in. It’s too much or too much. Muddy in the DAW. I do not like this pedal so far.
@Dave Davies it was above my head. Started using it on moog DFAM and it’s heaven.
Ehx oceans 11
Wish it wasn't so, but you get what you pay for.The EHX captures the rough ideas, but is lo fi in comparison.Peace.
