The legacy of Mexican-American women in Music history through their pickups is inconmensurable.
Abigail Ybarra, Maricela Juárez and Josefina Campos have shaped more sounds than all the master builders combined.

MJ has to be amongst the greatest pickup winders of all time. I am currently 30, and I had my first pickup wound by her at 14 years of age. She is one of those people where what she winds is BETTER than the actual sound in my head. So many records have her sound imprinted on them.

I'm a nobody Santa Barbara guitarist. I had a tele build that I wanted to load a BG1400 into for a gig I had on the upcoming weekend. This was a Wednesday. I walk into the SD reception area and tell the person this. 5 min later MJ walks out with a platter of 6 BG1400 pickups, packages one up, and says "Billy ordered these to give to people as gifts. He can wait." MJ is real as real can get. The BEST!

I am eternally thankfull for MJ, but probably she would not remember.
Year ago, at a time when I was "selling my lunch to buy dinner", I sent an e-mail to her cause I had a JB humbucker installed on a Jackson but not working and had no money to fix it and no qualified person that time here in Brazil where a live. MJ told me to send it to her and she fixed it and sent it back to me for free. I will never forget such kindness. I still have that pickup and consider it a treasure because I, EVH, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page have something in common: a pickup wired by MJ.
    Thank you my angel!

I got to see inside the warehouse on an alarm call once. I was bummed no one was there to pick their brain & get a better tour of everything. I also met Seymour & his wife when he jammed with his band at a nearby bar, they were super cool people. He had a fretless guitar with him that was a trip.
