I had the honor and pleasure of speaking with Seymour briefly at the 2011 NAMM show. I was the tech at a struggling little independent shop, and this man took the time to discuss a few things with me. Considering his accomplishments, his history, and his reputation, I was impressed most by the courteous and friendly nature of our conversation. Mr. Duncan makes exceptional products (I've been a customer for almost 30 years), and he's a hell of a nice guy too! A real class act all the way.
One day, I'd love to be a signature Seymour Duncan player. They've been my go to pickups for almost 13 years. They've never let me down one single time.
Interesting documentary! But, I'd hate to go into work and dance like that... I'm British. we reserve a special kind of annoyances about things like this. Great Pick-Ups though.
I have vintage rails where one has address as 601 Pine street and the other says 203 Chapala street, both in Santa Barbara. Are any of these sites still in production?
i own 10 guitars all but 1 one has different styles of DUNCANS in them,i'm yet in 13 yrs. to get a crappy pickup!I play all styles of metal and rock ,right now i'm in love with t he nazgul set!
hello thanks for video, may i know what number winding is to get high output humbucking maybe like 17k, and i have 3 humbucker pickup & 2vol pots 1tone pushpull pots , can you help me how i wire is?? thanks you..
So the awesome 80s sounding pickup the model JB really stands for Jeff Beck? I guessed it meant jazz and blues.... but not Jeff Beck. Wait.... really???? I use to use a JB in my guitar, but it had harsh mids. I switched to a Screamin demon and have never been happier.
I bought a 2001 Fender Double fat strat with two humbucking SD pickups. The Guitar sounds great, so why did Fender stop making the USA Model. Now you must by the classic to get a double fat strat not made in the USA.
+iamfugazi1969 JB/Jazz in that Tele, that's his favorite humbucker combo. He has a newer revised version called the 'eclair' that he is using in his new TeleGib.
An excellent combination of course..a classic from the man that brought it us all! I am installing this in one of my Ibanez sf470's soon..just contemplating the middle. I just bought a SSL-4 and was thinking of using that? So many choices :D \m/ \m/

I've met him a few times and have an equally impressive opinion. Cool dude, full of stories, and knows his shit forwards and back.
A common theme in all of these factory tours is the great & legendary "MJ" Maricela Juarez. Those hands have wound the sound of legends!

Seymour Duncan is the white haired supreme wizard of tone... we praise his knowledge..

GREAT documentary, Bo Gator! Enjoyed it immensely, especially the factory tour, and your song at the end. Jim
Seymour and his crew seem like really good and honest people with no bs behind it.

Great documentary ! Thank you :-) By the way do you know where in Pomona, Jeff Beck played? I'm guessing the Glass House?
Just ordered JB jazz set, can't wait to drop them in my LP!

This depends on the gauge of the wire used. Are you thinking of winding your own pickups?
Seymour Duncan yes i think how to try get high output most to 17k if i try to learn own turn wind, hope you can give some information

Hendrix said gibbons was a good blues player. I hate the Internet. everything wrong is repeated.

The lady at the end is beautiful
:D aw, how cute, the hostess is trying!
i'm sure she can get it down, eventually.
Love Seymour Duncan his pickups, playing and attitude. Did not like the the host or the presentation style...lol at all.
I would like to know what is in Seymour's tele and why! :D

@@seymourduncan That Tele at the end sounds awesome with the JB / Jazz set in it.
Quiero trabajar ahí!!!!
Very cool except for the playback at the end, i would prefer if they played live!
Seymour is a very cool guy!
Man the host is at the wrong place!
this guy is a legend, amazing...
11:40 lol awesome
is it me, or is that hostess a bit creepy?
HEY SEYMOUR ITS ME KEITH JOEY. I HAVE SJB-1 IN MY '97 LAKE PLACID BLUE IDIOT PRECISION BASS AND SJB-1s IN MY '96 TOCABBAN SUNBURST JAZZ BASS
Great choices!!
THANK YOU IVE FOUND THAT THE PLAIN JANE SPB AND SJB ARE THE MOST VINTAGE CORRECT (WHEN THOSE INSTRUMENTS WERE NEW)
Great pickups but to expensive almost 100 euros for a pickup.
They cost way too much. I still have no idea why?
People need to make decent money. I would be happy to pay 20 percent extra
What?
Jimi Hendrix's favourite guitarist was Stephen Stills.
No it wasn't... it was Billy Gibbons.
@@stratkiller2531 a minority opinion there. But interesting. Why do you say that?
@@jimdeeds he said so in an interview. A minority opinion? This is well known in my guitar community.
@@stratkiller2531 you have your own community?! Lol. I haven't heard about Billy being his favourite. What interview was it that he said that?
Jimi’s favorite guitarist were numerous!!!
@SnegoViKvsev At least she is really hot.
